  4. Yes you have to use their Tie Coat Primer before putting anything on the POR15 product. Yasin
  5. Absolutely sweet - nice work - love the night pic with the lights on and hidden behind the grill....luvly! Keep it up! Yasin
  6. I think I can help you here - I just bought POR15 and used it. The instructions clearly state that you can use POR15 over rust as it needs the rough surface to cling too. Seems weird as you would think you would need to get the rust completely off and get the metal to a shiny surface with a wire brush or a sanding disc on a grinder like in the old days. The instruction manual says if the rust is very heavy to just take a wire brush to it, surface rust is OK just apply the POR15 to it. Before you even add the POR15 you have to: 1) De-grease the surface with their proprietry Marine Clean sparay 2) Apply their proprietry Metal Ready spray 3) Then its POR15 time 4) POR15 cannot be exposed to UV, so the you may have to paint ontop of it with their proprietry Primer 5) Then you can paint ontop of this surface with any paint (like Rustoleum) if you like I called and spoke to their TechLab guy for ages before deciding and made sure I knoew what the sequence of steps were, as I knew they were very critical. The POR15 has to be pretty weird nifty stuff as the instructions clearly state "If a drop of sweat fall off your chin or whatever and into the POR15 it is contaminated and throw it away as it will have lost its rust inhibitive qualities!" <--- isn't that wild? On the underside its ok to use the spray on bedliner or Asphalt undercoating (which is no available as a product that you can paint over the of). Hope that helps - Yasin
  7. Great Video and the car sounds fantastic - congrats. Love the detached double garage behind the house....sweet....I'm in envy!
  8. Can't wait to hear and see the pics of the install! Regards - Yasin

  11. Z-Tard - Awesome pics! The coilovers look great and you can't beat the price! So next step would be to fab up your RX7 Calliper bracket on your hub? That Supra rotor looks menacing. Beautiful work! Yasin
  12. I have an '83 ZXT and would be definately interested! Yasin
  13. Z-Tard - So you are using the 5lug hubs right? Do have any calliper installed on there now or just the rotor held in by the wheel? I guess you are fabbing a bracket for the FCFD 4piston callipers? Those FCFD callipers are beautiful - aluminum with heat sinks - very neat! Any more detailed pics of your Pep Boys Special coil over kit? Looks really awesome! Thanks - Yasin
  14. Wow....awesome....that black paint looks like its permanantly wet. Car will be sweet when its all done - so out of curiosity do alot of the Japanese enthusiasts look in amazement when they see a Chevy V8 in a Z - whats their reaction? Yasin
  15. The picture is so tiny....I can't even make out the wheels do you have a larger pic? Yasin
  16. Hi Gang, Here is a refreshing change - a Japanese tuning company called Autobuse, removed the RB25DET and put in a L31 into a R32 Skyline. The picute is out of one of my old Japanese catalogs called HyperRev (Vol.37). I found it while flipping through over breakfast. Anyways here is the scan - I thought I would share it with you all. In case its not clear here are some of the specs on the L31: HP: 500 Torque: 1.1kg/cm2 Turbo: TD06L2 20G Injectors: 6x275cc and 6x440cc (!) Cam: 320dur I wish I could read Kanji and transalte the rest. Pretty sweet overall. Regards - Yasin
  17. Mark - my car is a 1987 model which is the last year for the RWD Corollas. This particular generation only cam to the U.S from '85 - '87, so had a very short production run here. Regards - Yasin
  18. Tim240Z - If you go to my website www.picturetrail.com/slownrusty I have a really detailed write up and easy to understand. If you have any further questions drop me a line and I will help you out bro. Let me know - Yasin
  19. dhans David - I could not agree with you more! Yasin
  20. I used a clay polishing compound with the buffing wheel on a grinder - need to have something that can turn some serious rpms (hence the grinder). That will give the final luster. Yasin
  21. S30Z Bushido - If you can find one, I fully recommend buying it. They are great driving car, very forgiving suspension and decent power even ins tock form. John Adkins - the "Initial D" car is the same car - RWD Corolla GTS (AE86 chassis code) - aka Hachiroku. Joe - Yes the car is loads of fun. Regards - Yasin
  22. Dan - Yup you got it buddy - the engine is out a early '90s FWD Corolla turned around and mated to my stock tranny to make it RWD. No mods required except shaving the right engine mount a bit with an angle grinder to clear the supercharger. My car is a little heavier as its fully optioned (electric sunroof etc etc) and I have some pretty comfy but heavy Supra seats in it. The car with a full tank of gas weighs in at 2340lbs, which is not bad. I hope to remove the heavy North American front bumper (with the big re-bar) and replace it with the feather weight Jap Spec version. So that should drop another 30lbs or so. Yes the car was one of the most popular cars in Japan for circuit racing and drifting (still is) but the S13-S15 Silvias are now the king as they have much more powerful engines with the SR20DET and an awesome suspension and factory LSD. Overal like you say, the potential is huge. These cars are becoming more rare to come across now, as most have fallen victim to the rust bug, but the odd time you will see one for sale and they are really good buys with Toyota reliabbility and that sweet reving 4AG engine mated to an a great transmission and a factory 4.3 rear end. Here are some sweet jap spec versions Yasin
  23. Here is my other trouble some but super fun kid. 14psi of boost, 4AGZE engine from a Jap Spec FWD Corolla (AE92), bought a half cut and did the conversion. Power is right at the 200hp mark - which is not bad for a 1.6L. Car is awesome to drive and handles very predictably. All the suspension has been heavily re-worked as well. Mazda RX7 Turbo 4piston calliper brakes in the works as well as new HKS cams and adj. cam gears. Thought I would share! Yasin
  24. If the TB is off any KA24 engine whether its single or twin cam. KA24 came in the Stanza, Pickups, Altimas, 240SX.... Here is the pic of the one I polished for my L28ET: and installed on the L28ET: Yasin
  25. I am running the Sylvania SilverStars in my Altima and can vouh they are MUCH brighter and cripser than that the stock halogens. The light is very white and has dramatically improved all night driving. A worthwhile $40 upgrade. Yasin
