Grommit - No the engine did not start when I sprayed the Started Fluid into the intake. Plugs are dry. And all the alternator connections are perfect and solid. Hence the frustration I have an ECU on loan from Ryan coming my way...so X-fingers that is the culprit. Thanks again Ryan!!! Regards - Yasin

Hi Gang - I took my '78 280Z for a spin yesterday, it ran awesome but the only issue was the rebuilt Unilite Alternator was not charging properly, it was barely making 11V instead of 14V. I noticed this alternator has been acting up lately. Today I decided to change this alternator and the car refused to start whatsover this morning. The car has a new battery and I cranked and cranked and cranked and nothing (it cranks just fine too). - There is lots of fuel to the injectors - confirmed by popping off hose coiming out of the fuel filter. - I switched the AFM with a good working spare - nothing changed - I am getting lots of spark at the coil - confirmed - I checked all the fusible links and they are perfect (in fact they are only 1 month old) - I then checked the injectors and none are firing, I have that little Bosch tester that you plug into the injector harness plug and it did not illuminate and then further confirmed by putting starter fluid into the intake and none of the injectors are firing. I am really worried (mixed with anxiety and generous helpings of fear) that maybe something fried in the ECU - is this even possible? Unfortunately I do not have a spare pre '78 ECU to test. Are there any other relays or place to look for further trouble shooting? Please let me know, I am desparate and glum Thanks- Yasin

When I see projects like this I can so inspired....but then I think about how much time and money has gone into it and its a reality check wow! I would love to know how much he has into it and how long it took. Even the gas tank is hand made - one off! The hood I thought was ultra cool too. Well everything is actually. My Gosh! There is some great talent in this world. Yasin -

Phil - Short answer is yes! My 911 is running 285/40/17 in the back and it hooks-up pretty good, based on the way you were struggling or fighting to keep your car straight in 1st and 2nd - definitely. Meth is on the list when I get my L30ET up and running. Yasin -

Funny you mention that, I looked all over the place for it, even took the turbo off to make sure it did not wrap into the veins...no where to be found, top of the pistons were perfect too...in talking with my engine builder he said that he would not be surprised if it deteriorated in granular sand sized pieces as opposed to a big chunch breaking off. Many thanks!!! Tell me about it! I was trying to stay away from Advil or Extra Strength Tylenol (my other best friend..LOL). Still in my 30s but felt like I was 80 after this weekend! Yasin (the Decripid one!).

REALLY Nice Black L28Turbo S30 on eBay
slownrusty replied to slownrusty's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Should bought it bud! You could have enjoyed it and really appreciated ole skool power until you had enough funds for the RB and still sold that Turbo L28 for $2K and kept the Tech3 Engine Management for the RB! I bet that car runs an easy 12 sec 1/4 in the condition it is. Yasin -
Oh $hit...I laughed my head off on that poster...awesome! Yasin BTW - MSA have been offering thses Lambo doors for the S30 for a while now, I didn't see any at the MSA show last year, we'll see what this year brings.

At 100,000-110,00K for that ZR1 it gives the new GT-R owners about 20K in mods to still beat it and have enough money left over to take the wife on a cruise and a re-model the bathroom. Over in the Porsche TwinTurbo forums those owners are all butt sore from the GT-R beaing able to out-perform them stock for $50K less than what they are paying. Yasin

Bernard - I will take some pics of the inlet and outlet for you. It looks like many other intercololer with the inlet and outlet facing back to the motor. BTW, are you making it to MSA this year? Efficiency is 0.6psi drop at 15psi Cost was $850 Yasin

I have always loved the look of these cars, very pronouned and edgy styling and not jelly bean shaped like everthing else out there. Its based on the Y34 chassis for you JDM lovers. I test drove tons of cars incl. M3s, C-Class AMGs, E-Class Benzes, Lexus', you name it and the M45 still won my heart. So I went out and bought another Datusn product (LOL)...my first V8 car and my first modern car too. That makes 4 Datsun products in my stable! Its an '04 M45. Kinda of a rare bird I suppose, 1100sold in '04. Has the velvety all aluminum V8 that resides in the Q but in the M it is 260lbs lighter. The car has 330hp and 340ft.lbs of torque, 0-60mp/h comes up in about 5.7secs. Has some cool gadgets like AC and heat through the seats, 300+ voice commands and the best thing...its not stiff like all my past cars. Wow...I must be getting old I have a Practical car...! Plus its nicer to take the ladies out in something a little more cush...wink! Some pics: Yasin

Well some of you guys know I have a pretty rare '88 Mazda 323 GT (one of 700 imported to the US), its my daily driver. Factory boost is 7psi and the car was 135hp stock. Here is the car: My greedy butt has been running 15psi for several years with a re-mapped ECU and a bunch of other mods, the car is probably 180-190hp as it sits now and weighs 2280lbs and it runs Grreat.... Well...a few weeks ago, I decided to do a high speed run, dropped the car to 4th and speed was building quickly but when I let off, something was not right. Got home that night at 3am did a compression and No.4 revealed 20spi and other cylinders were fine and consistant. So I had to pay the piper. Pulled the head, and low and behold - what a pain in the a$$ that was, with AC, PS, Turbo plumbing, yadda yadda (the car is VERY tightly packaged): Note all the exhaust valves. The head gasket was perfect mind you! So I had my buddy rebuild the entire head and put in some new valves, new guides and voila: I ARP studded the block while I was at it and cleaned, cleaned and cleaned everything, you could have open heart surgery in my engine bay now..! LOL Head back on...15hours that took(!!) ..and my lower back feels like a decripid old man.... Car runs great again, had amazingly long legs for a small 1.6L. So what a weekend, I am so tired...VERY tired but happy that the car is back up and running. And yes I am going to turn the boost back down...LOL! Had to share with you gearheads. Yasin
