It blows me away that these intercoolers are so cheap and folks are getting great results - actually that's awesome! Imagine an intercooler that huge for $83! I paid 10times that for mine..so I am green with envy! KTM Bo - I did not realize you routed your IC piping under your car? Interesting, I was originally going to do that but was concerned with the number of 90Degree Elbows and added lengths of pipe. Your thoughts? Yasin

Very cool, very original and VERY different. Out of curiosity, why did you go with an old Datsun engine, when you could have had twice or three times the power in a 302 Ford motor? Regards - Yasin

Hi Gang - Thanks for all the comments and feedback. I do recommend these Aerocatch pins to anyone, and granted they are more expensive than your typical $20 Mr.Gasket set, they are a millenium advanced in mechanism, fit, finish, functionality and aesthetics (I sound like a salesman..LOL!). Hugh - The under mount flush ones are iffy on clearance, so I went with the top mounts instead. Regards - Yasin

The key is speed and heat and Roy from HRE mentioned which you need HP. Been down this road many many times (more than I care to admit..LOL!. Yasin

Hi Gang - I had an *interesting* day...I decided to finally get the hood fitted on my car. The hood is a nice piece custom made by John Coffey from Beta Motorsports, the hood is CF and weighs about 8 or 9lbs (stock hood is close to 40lbs) and I bought it quite some time ago from him. The hood requires hood pins and I wanted to get some cool pins, that were not only cool but functional. All roads led to Aerocatch Pins so I bought a set for $100 (shipped) and installed them yesterday. The Aerocatch hood pins are really sexxy, low profile and stealth, nicely made as well (I purchased the locking model). I was excited to install them. Sadly the templates that come with them are awful and you have to make your own and my first attempt I totally screwed it up and installed them about 1.5" off where they should be (insert choice cuss words here). I kept thinking I had ruined my beautiful CF hood and I was so disappointed with myself....After walking away and some deep breathing, I went back and pulled out my fiberglass and actually did a very good repair on my blunder and re-installed the hood pins in the right place. Luckily I can work fiberglass quite well, so my screw-up is not noticeable and was able to get it right second time around... Installing hood pins are not as easy as they look...LOL! As an aside, I used the stock OEM locations for the pins close to the cowl, but required drilling them out to 3/8" and re-tapping for the anodized aluminum Aerocatch pins. Luckily the factory locations are beefy enough to be drilled out and tapped. I also had enough time to install the hood vents and cowl and all mounting holes, so all I have to do now is paint the hood. Hopefully this week I will take it in to the Body Shop. So I am making progress on the car. I like the look and the fit and recommend these Aerocatch Pins to anyone considering Hood Pins, just take your time. Here are the pics... Stock hood pins on the ZX: Drilling and tapping for the Aerocatch Pins: Aerocatch Pins installed and mocked-up: Done (pls ignore hole on front right..soon to be repaired), hood all fitted and ready for paint: Pretty slick: The mechanism: Regards - Yasin

Joel - Your car is flirting with perfection....I love it, good job as always my man! Yasin -
Do a search under my name (slownrusty) and you will see I detailed with many photos how to do this. Should be helpful and I did not use Banjo fittings with crush washers. Yasin

I am sorry but that is one of the worst ways to "tap" into an oil passage (I was going to say "ridiculous"). The oil feed line to the turbo is typically a -3 or -4 size the typical oil line on a L28 is -8 or -10 size. If you want to cool your oil do it properly and take it where there is flow (i.e pressure) AND volume, so take it at the filter and buy an adapter from Permacool like so: Yasin

Introducing myself and my 240...
slownrusty replied to Mr.Woof's72z's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Welcome and superb car, nicely modd'd and great shape!! I used to date someone from Steamboat and had a buddy that just moved from there. Where do you live now, as you stated you moved? Good to see more CO owners on HybridZ, be on the lookout for a summer get together at some point - x-fingers! Regards - Yasin -
Yes you should do it!! Sadly no Zs, I invited Ryan to come along but he was busy. Next time around my Z should be ready to go. R compound tires would be sweet and would transform the cars handling - agreed! LOL...I really resepct the 355 Ferrari and even the Maserati, pretty good legs on both. My car performed extremely well and I was shocked how quickly it would out accelerate the group. Yup that Lotus is a '78, last of the Series 1, same owner for the past 22years. Very fine car indeed. 160hp...2200lbs. Glad you enjoyed the pics. Yasin

Good luck with your M3. I recently looked at purchasing an E46s and have several friends who own E46s (good and poor experiences). The pre '04 years had issues with camshaft failure and crank bearing issues. So check into those and also join bimmerforums for the best support. Good luck with the car. Regards - Yasin

Walbro fuel pump...advice on which model to buy
slownrusty replied to Calgary280ZT's topic in Fuel Delivery
I have the GSL 392 as well in my 280ZX Turbo. It was fairly easy to install and super reliable. I bought mine from Summit Racing (it is branded as a Holley funny enough), who ship all the time without issue to Canada. Regards - Yasin -
the start of the B.customs Z has begun..2jz 1000hp
slownrusty replied to Overkill Z's topic in Toyota L6 Forum
Scottie makes all great, great points, so I do not need to be repetitive. I have a hard time understanding what 1000hp truly means. I have a 2900lbs car that is 450crankhp and it is a handful and it very rarely even sees WOT...I fear two things: 1) Loosing my license when I can almost double the speed limit in 2nd gear, with three more to grab 2) Going so fast, so rapidly that someone may not see me and....*bang", I have really got a huge respect for the fact that: - I would like to enjoy old age and not in a wheel chair from a car crash at 100+ mph - Respect that I am mortal Over out and good luck to you! Wow...awesome photos....I love them. Your car is perfect, any touching up via photoshop? Love the Roadster in the background and the Vipers in the background too...ultra slick!! Thanks for sharing! Yasin

I keep my pulse on everything Porsche and Datsun, I'm talking eBay, Craigslist, Autotrader, cars.com you name it. I just sold this little gem for a paltry $800...yes its not the prettiest face in the house, rust is all surface though, it runs flawlessly, brakes flawlessly and rides great and everything works...in fact if I threw my road bike in the hatch it would triple in value! If I did not own 6 cars I would keep it too. Then I see this incredible car on eBay for only $12,600 sold today for that price. If I had to take my blue car above and make it look like that orange eBay car, I can see an easy $20K vanish from my bank account not too mention the years of time and bustin' ass... So it makes me wonder and the million dollar question of the day to you my comrades of Z world...why bother build these damn things (yes you could say you are proud and impress your buddies and say your two hands and vision built it and you lost a girlfriend and pinky finger along the way) - but at the end of the day who gives a hairy?? ...For half the money you can get one already meticulously built, been pampered, ready to drive, no mental anguish, be further ahead in the finances department (significantly) and have more time to bull%hit here on HybirdZ and actually drive the thing? That orange eBay 240Z car makes me melt (understatement) what can you buy for $12K anyway...a 5 year old base Corolla? Don't even get me started on Porsches... Yasin
