  1. I hate the newer Saabs but the SPG and the earlier 99 and 900 Turbo models I thought were ultra coool. Back in the '80s they had more technology in their motors than Porsche...twin cams, 16V turbo. Unusual shapes but pleasing to my eye (the new ones are rubbish!) i love the 900 SPG ole skool fun: Yasin
  2. She is a sexxxy mama! Two thumbs up from the Slow N Rusty Camp! Yasin
  3. I quickly browsed some of those links - the intake threads only. The 4barrel carb plates are simply "bore extenders" as even described by Magna and also the Shear Plate - there is no wall or lip to prevent reversion. There is no step with their product and their product is more designed for "the prevention of fuel from dripping from the base of the carburetor's bores". The Corvette thread talks of a lip of 0.5mm (0.020") which is TINY! I have easily that on my head to intake face. Curious why all the intake links are all Domestic V8 related with no discussion or use in more modern or import engines? Alos many of those links talk about using this anri-reversion running what sounds like really wild or radical camshafts as many of the Domestic guys run, which is not applicable to us Turbo guys. Thanks for taking the time for finding posting those links. Must get back to assembling my engine. Yasin
  4. Nice pics Mike! I wanted to see more pics of th laydies though!
  5. Tony - I see your point somewhat....but I am not convinced. Its ironic that my daily grind is designing high pressure pipelines (natural gas and water) up to 20" in diameter and 1000psi in Max. Operating Pressure and I have never heard of "anti-reversionary devices" and I deal with an incredible amount of fittings specific to the industry and my life is all about FLOW and PRESSURE and lab testing as well. I went back to my Engineering books last night (Fluid Mechanics) and could find nothing on "anti-reversionary devices" either. From my online research, its seems that your "anti-reversionary devices" are almost like back flow preventers and used heavily in lubrication to prevent some machinery parts from being accidently lubicated...its a fancy one way valve. There were some exhaust references I found but the descriptions were sketchy and I could not find any illustrations or drawings. An engine's intake is the recipient of a certain flow at a certain velocity and volume and basically an internal combustion engine is an Air Pump - this we all know. By increasing the size of the passages (like I've done) increases the overall pump efficiency. Flow due to the combustion chemical reaction is only one way (providing you have a balanced reaction with no back fire), so how can you have backflow anyway? And as well know Turbo engines are all about flow. I am all ears so I am very keen to listen to your reply. Yasin
  6. Looks like a pack of hungry dogs chasing a scared rabbit...LOL!
  7. Sorry my friend..having a hard time believing that you have a BW 5speed. BW came only in 5speed Turbo 280ZX cars for just over 1.5years, Canada got literally a small handful of these cars. The BW are rare here in the US muchless in Canada. I have been into Zs since 1979 and only seen a few 5speed Turbo ZX cars in Canada. I believe you have the "B Series" tranny which is a Nissan built 5 speed tranny. Great tranny too...and guess what on my original 1983 280ZX Turbo, I removed the BW and replaced it with a B Series. These trannys can take a pure licking, hp and abuse all in one sitting. Yasin
  8. How does that car have a Borg and Warner in it? Also I do not want to burst your excitement but rather be a realist. Please check your car thoroughly for rust, you do not say how many miles are on the car? Canadian weather and Japanese cars from the '80s, especially the early '80s (and before) DO NOT mix. These cars literally crumble due to poor rust protection done by manufacturers during the '70s-'8-s and also due to the adverse weather in Canada. You might have scored a cheap car but can spend a small fortune on bodywork and paint - or teach yourself to weld! I lived in Ontario for 15+years and saw what the winters did to my Datsuns, Nissans and Toyotas - not pretty. Yasin
  9. WOW!!....I refuse to have to make a list of what I want for my car and then get some sort of permission. Sorry man, I refuse to be on eggshells. I never buy cheap parts, and yes I spend some decent $$ on my car(s), but at the same time I am very finanically responsible and always spend within my means. My ex never bitched at how much I spent, it was the time and attention that the cars got, that she didn't. Cars are a VERY expensive hobby, my old sage of an uncle always preached to me: "If you wanna PLAY you have to PAY!" Yasin
  10. John - We could go on for months talking about air cooled vs water cooled Porsche 911s. In a nut shell: Air cooled was COOL and the true purists Porsche 911. It represented true to the form for over 40years. Also water cooled 911s especially the first gen 996 NA engines MANY suffered severe engine failure which Porsche refused to cover. Many with less than 50K miles on the clock, it hurt their reputation and they had to run back to the drawing board quick to keep their rep. intact. Many owners were then stuck with a car less than 5years old that had a $20,000 failed engine. Yasin
  11. One of the reasons my ex decided to leave me and file for divorce was because of my cars and car hobby. She hated them, never understood the obsession I have with them and never could relate to my frustration when the car project (or projects) was not going "well". Funny enough when we went out for dinner or a cruise in my former AMG Benz, she really loved it. She really loved the ZXT too before I got obssessive with it, when it was stock. She is an absolutely beautiful (stunning) woman and I do miss her and blame myself for my own personal shortcomings, but life does go on and you learn. Makes you wonder and question yourself when your marriage ends and one of the reason is being such a "car guy". Many many woman never get why men makes cars such an important part of our lives. Most women at best "put-up with it" or tolerate it. Yasin
  12. Mack - Here is my intake...a little "modified" from stock....and I will be running a 70mm TB...wink! Yasin
  13. Thanks guys! Cruez - Yes I am going to smoothen out the port work and make it nice and frictionless as possible. My tools can reach about 3"-4" inside the bore and they are nice tapered as I kept checking as I did the work. The transitions are very smooth. Greenmonster - LOL...yup small world indeed. Yes it was showering aluminum all over my driveway yesterday...I ended up call it quits about 6:30pm and I am sure my neighbors think I am one crazy MoFo! Ryan - I used a Die Grinder connected to my air compressor and bought a set of Rotary Rasp bits that come in different shapes like so, I bought many pieces as the aluminum off the intake bunches up in the rasps and makes them ineffective after about 15-20minutes. Project is coming along! Yasin
  14. Gang - Spent the best part of 3+ hours this afternoon port matching my intake to my Port and Polished head. You gotta love getting showered with aluminum from the die grinder. The stock port on the L28ET intake is around 32mm. And I was able to open them up to 41mm to match the huge ports on my head. Should flow quite well! Head should be bolted up this week and piecing the car together slowly. Making progress, all be it slow!! The head: The intake: Regards - Yasin
  15. 993 Twin Turbo...beautiful machine and the last of the mighty air cooled monsters. LOVE IT Yasin
  16. Veritach - The FJ20 came standard in these S12 cars in Japan in certain trim levels, they were known as the Leopard and also the Gazelle and in RS-X form has the beautiful FJ20ET standard. Yasin
  17. ROH ZS wheels sweet! Classic!! Why are the holes along the side of the car so large where there appears to be somesort of strip mounted? That will be a pain to fix. Yasin
  18. For sure! I will definitely do that...thanks for the invite! Yasin
  19. Long live the mighty 2JZ...one of the most incredible internal combustion engines to make it into production!
  20. Excellent catch...exactly why the Rusty ended up in my name plus living in Toronto for abunch of years did not help much either. My french is pathetic sadly. Yasin
