  1. So what was the difference between the LS motors you swapped? I didn't recall if you posted it other than age.
  2. So for clarity then Steve, all 81-82 Maxima's had bolt on, and then all 83-84 Maxima's had weld on except the Diesels.
  3. Correct on the impression. Do some searching. There are many threads on the topic. I recalled a thread that required heavy modification of the 85-88 version and another similar to your question is why I stated I beleive there were two options on the earlier Maximas.
  4. You want the parts that bolt to the hood and that bolt to the body correct? Not the part that is welded to the body? I'm probably going to go to the JY at lunch time tomorrw. If its there I'll grab them if they are cheap enough.
  5. It looks like this: I'm pretty sure you don't want the flat 85-88. Those require lots of modification. I think there were two options on the first generation Maxima's.
  6. Not sure where you are located in FL but in the LKQ in Orlando East 50 there is a 77 and another in the U Pull and Pay off of Jetstream drive by the airport.
  7. Always base the cage on what type of racing you wan't to do, not on cost. Find out the cage rules for the class you want to run in and then see if the builder can make it. If you want it just for the added saftey factor then it doesn't matter as much.
  8. To be honest, no idea. I have an orignal fan if you like (mechanical). I just got to find it. Did you find a clam shell? I think I have one of those too if you didn't buy one yet. What else did you need?
  9. Not sure if this counts, but I was watching Rocky III (1982) just now and in the very beginning as Paulie is walking out of the bar there is a comerical playing in the background (audio only) for the new 1982 Datsun turbo.
  10. Remeber the car sat in my garage for a year, and then at the guys house I got it from for at least a year. I would dump the tank for sure. I would definitely test the starter from the solenoid before removing. What time Saturday?
  11. You sure you don't want to try messing with it first? Let me know, maybe I could swing by one weekend.
  12. I'm not sure if anyone of you will buy one, but I rented one for two days and was dissapointed. Car only had 8800 miles. Pros: Zippy Great Brakes Tight Steering (almost to tight) Cons: Horrible blind spots Terrible shifting transmission (Auto) Missing Engine Rattles I'm not a big American car guy but I figured I'd give it a try considering the other choice was a Chevy Aveo. I think it had a sport mode for the tranny. It litterly kept the car in a lower gear as it anticipated you to step on the gas. My wife asked me what I was doing. I did not care for this at all. Anyway, for what it's worth, that's my take.
  13. Fuel pressure. Any and every electrical connection. How long has it been sitting or did this just start?
  14. St Pete LKQ had a turbo car about 2 weeks ago.
  15. What part of the car is that hole in? I did not see that before at all. Is that behind the seat? And what other inside pieces you missing? If I have them I'll give them to you. You must be refering to the bolts that hold the ignition on? Take a dremel carefully cut a small slot in the heads. Then use a flat blade screw driver and unscrew them.
  16. I'd be curious to know what was wrong with the old one. Was it a reman? If so, maybe they (assembler) put the chopper wheel in upside down.
  17. If you download the FSM from Xenon, this is from the ET - Engine Tune up section:
  18. You would get two sets of these or 4 stub axles and 4 companion flanges for $218 shipped. Not that it matters, but why would you need so many? You have two cars? Oh and if you can send as a gift to avoid the Fee's I'd appreciate it. Then PM your address.
  19. Hey that trailer looks familiar! Lock set is on the front porch. The harness is an 81 280zxt. The 260z were not fuel injected from the factory, nor turbo. The swap is based on this thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/34469-a-quick-fi-and-ignition-280zxt-to-s30-turbo-swap-guide/ There is a ton of info in this. I would go through every connection in the thread and compare it to what is in the car. That is where I would start. Keep checking the JY regularly and if I see any when I go I'll let you know.
  20. Yep PP is fine. jeffreysm@yahoo.com I'll even cut you a deal on the shipping. Both pairs for $20. They're rather heavy.
  21. I don't know. What are they worth to you.
  22. I have a set from a 280z.
  23. I've got a set of 280z stubs and flanges I can pull for you. $99 plus shipping. I'd replace the bearings as I don't know the history. .. and I could probably find another pair as well unless someone else chimes in.
  24. Do 1. Kids will go fast. Let it sit in the garage as long as money is not tight. Otherwise, sell those parts above and beyond needed to make the car complete. Try and get it running then sell the car seperate.
