I'm assuming you're young. I would down load the Factory Service Manual (FSM) from: http://www.xenons30.com/reference.html Lots of very usefull info in the FSM. Compression Test (There are other videos as well): I would have also dumped the entire tank to start from fresh.

So how long was the car sitting before you purchased? What it a running car when you got it? What did you do to get it to this point? Gas is good? Did you change the fuel filter? You did all the basics already like compression test, check plugs, timing, etc. If so, the early 72 SU's are a breeze to work on and most likely are gummed a little and or out of sync and calibration.

Sure you can use the rear end. Save the axles too. What year 240z though? You'll need a mustache bar from a 280z (75-78) with an R200. I suggest more reading before you jump in though. Check out the FAQ section. Aside from drive train and maybe a few misc. parts, most of the ZX parts are for the ZX. Save the mirrors if you like that style.

My opinion, buy the 119 one. When I cut my 73 up I saved that piece. It was not a fun piece to cut off. I think you will be hard pressed to get someone to cut one off for you. It was quite laborious to me. Funny, I'm wondering what I did with it now????

Go to the Xenon site and download the free FSM. I would also start with fuel first. Also check your fuel pressure.

This is what I did. Grab your dremel and cut two straight lines into each head. Then simply use a flat head screw driver and remove the bolts. If you don't care about the lock, use a air cut off tool. Makes the line a bit wider for a bigger screw driver!
