  1. Thanks Paul! I can't honestly remember seeing one an a ZX? I knew they were on the early ones on the TB, but not the ZX. Now I'm gonna have to pay attention for them. They must have been removed from a lot of cars.
  2. Really, I don't recall seeing this on the ZX under the Manifold?? You have a pic by chance?
  3. Follow this advise. This is what I'm doing exactly.
  4. I'm w/ Joe on this one! Great find. Offer $500
  5. I wonder if Careless "cares" if it is his birthday? Happy Birthday though!
  6. Did you read this sticky: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=118512
  7. Sone I shipped the part today. If my current buyer falls through I do have a very nice L28 motor I would sell for $250.00. Here is the link w/ the info about the motor: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=140023
  8. A plain old stock one? I've got an 82 Turbo one for $10 plus shipping. They should be pretty close to the same.
  9. This is just my opinion, the custom mods look okay, but if you are ever in a minor incident you can flush the work down the drain.
  10. Can you throw your old R200 axles in and give it test drive? I know this would require changing the Companion flanges again, but it may tell you whether your getting a binding issue.
  11. I agree 100%. If you have the money to buy a car in that supposed caliber, why not fly out there and check it out? Even if it cost $1000 to get there and back, it would be much cheaper than any attorneys fees. The car may not be show quality, but it is in very nice condition looking through all the pics.
  12. Do you have a Honda Powered Z?
  13. I think I checked everything today. Nothing, I even re-tightend most everything. What is strange is it stops once the car gets warmed up. I even checked tire pressure. I did notice cracking in the control arm bushings. If one or more is badly worn, could it cause the twisting I'm feeling?
  14. Budget should be on the top priority list. I've read and seen some problems w/ MS, but you cant beat the price. I think no matter what support should also be a top choice. On this site, MS is very well supported, but I think the learning curve is also much higher. From reading, the Wolf system also seems to be up there w/ support and features on this site. At least one admin support it's which is a plus. I have an uninstalled Tec3. Don't have it installed yet, but I know it is one of the top of the line units. I got a very good deal on it so I almost had to get it. I"m still in the collecting parts phase of my build.
  15. Congrats on the house! I would definitely see if you can make the garage bigger. Mine is essentially the same size and I could have made it bigger. It's been a big regret. I'm not sure how it would impact the roof line, but I would also see about making the 3rd car garage the same elevation across the front. That's an extra foot or so.
  16. Jay, I'll sell you my 78 I just picked up for $800.00.
  17. One of the best things about going to a JY is the experience you get pulling parts off. You will learn a lot. If you have a pick and pull, even w/ a Non-turbo ZX, pull the intake and exhaust off. Then, Put it back together!
  18. I have to fully wrap it in wood per the shipping company. The weight sits at 333Lbs the weigh it sits. I estimated 360 w/ the additional wood. The first quote I got using ESTES was 447.90 + 16.5 % fuel surcharge! I called Diversified Transportaion Services who gets better deals for people and it came in at $350.00! It even ends up using the same company I got the first quote from. This info was passed on to me from a Hybridz member. The saving is substantial. www.dtsone.com
  19. My son is 14 now. I called my Insurance for a Z for him, it was close to $2400 a year!
  20. I can't help you find a shop, but when I was going through this w/ my Jeep I was the super customer John describes above. It did nothing for me. I ended up investing 8500 to dump the whole Jeep for 2500 just to get it out of my sight. I was very bummed. Mine ended up being all of the above: poor progress, bad communication and the quality sucked!. Two months into sitting in my garage paint just literally started falling off.
  21. I'm not being critical of you, just the car. I know the LSX swaps are popular and the performance is stellar, but I have issues w/ the unfinished back. It looks strange w/ all the holes everywhere. To me that is a big turn off. Granted you don't want to spend any more money if your trying to sell it, but I would buff out the black lines where the molding was. It looks bad. Aside from those issues I would ebay the car. Put the reserve at what you would walk away from it at Plus $500.00 towards shipping. I would include in the auction that you will kick in $500.00 towards the shipping. I'm assuming this is a fairly rust free CA car and you could likely get more bids this way from the East Coast folks. I would also see if you could find a shipping company upfront before you list. Help out w/ the leg work. That being said and the economy the way it is, I'd wager 4-5K for the car. Do you have the coil covers for the motor? It would add so much to the look of the motor. Best of luck w/ your decision.
