  1. What intake are you running? It kinda looks like a cross between and N-42 and a P-82?
  2. Funny thing to me is I rarely see someone speed up to see a corvette, there a dime a dozen, but I often find people speeding up to me, flag me down, stare or wave just to get a better glimpse of the car. The lines of a Z are timeless. Vette's are nice don't get me wrong, but it is not a Z. Why do you need so much HP? I'm shooting for 400 HP for my car. Not to much, but not too little either. More than this and I can't see the bennefit unless it is stricktly a drag car and that is not what I'm after.
  3. The difference is in the top portion that mounts to the dist. itself. It has a different star like shape. From my understanding you need an 82 or 83 dist. to run megasquirt, thus the need for the matching drive spindle. I think you may also be able to use an 81. The 81 dist uses a CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) mounted on the Crank pully itself, which I think is built into the 82/83 dist. Less parts to use the 82/83 and if the CAS fails likely more money out of pocket. I'm not running MS currently. I'm going a different route. From my reading on MS, you will also need to find a ZXT dist. I don't think the earlier sytle dist. support the MS functionality. Don't quote me, you need to read up on it, I think it is the HALL effect format MS needs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hall_effect_sensor You may want to hold off on purchasing until know exactly what you need.
  4. The spindle is one entire length that connects the dist. to the oil pump and is turned by the crank. I stole this off ebay but it looks like this:
  5. I've got the spindle $20.00 plus shipping.
  6. I have a brand new Clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing for a 74 260z. Not exactly sure if it is compatible but you can check into it. This was purchased for an early 260z. $75
  7. I may have one in the next few weeks. I'm picking up an 82zxt soon. Can you shoot a pic of exactly what you need?
  8. Thanks guys. I think I may just buy it for the wheels and tires and throw them on my current truck. They are almost new.
  9. I picked up an LC-1 for pretty cheap but would like to have an on board gauge in the car. I'd rather not have the laptop hooked up so I was wondering who found and inexpensive Wideband gauge to use? Those darn things are expensive! Sorry if this is the wrong section.
  10. Fix for a daily driver. I was hoping to sell my truck to get money to paint my house!
  11. Got a few pics. Not sure if it is worth the challange:
  12. Are you trading just the BOV and one Pipe or all the 3" piping? I don't need the BOV but the piping I could use. I can go to the JY and pull a 240sx TB for you.
  13. Going down that road myself. I talked w/ this guy on the phone. He seems to know his stuff. http://www.injectors4u.com/injector_prices.htm
  14. I love looking and drooling over the parts on the website, but that has got to be one of the worst websites I have ever visited. This is my opinion, but the navigation really sucks and I don't care for the layout at all.
  15. Do the fires usually destroy the engine and head or just the external parts?
  16. Thanks Panzer. Anyone else have any thoughts or experience working on the Path Finders?
  17. I was curious I'm not sure the exact year but I can pick up a Late 80's Early 90's Nissan Pathfinder from a friend for like $100.00. The only bad thing was it had an engine fire. It was burning for 8 mins. before the fire dept came. I see them in the JY all the time and figured parts would be easy to get, but I haven't seen the extent of the burns yet. Curious if anyone has messed w/ such an endeavor and what was the outcome? Should I even bother? The rest of the vehicle is pretty clean. Any info on how hard the wiring harness are at getting out and if there fairly plug and play?
  18. I was reading this thread and I understand why the need to not run 100% but why not 95%? Why is 80% the magic #? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=118512 If fuel pressure is regulated properly, is 100% all that bad? Or is it to difficult to get even pressure to all X amount of injects at 100%? Why don't they sell injectors based on the 80% rule instead of 100% since no one runs or no one should run at 100%? http://www.injector.com/faq.php#faq2 What do the terms “static†and “duty cycle†mean? An injector in an engine turns on and off very quickly to control the amount of fuel delivered. The amount of time an injector is turned on and delivering fuel is known as the duty cycle. This is measured as a percent, so 50% duty cycle indicates that the injector is held open and held closed for an equal amount of time. When the engine needs more fuel, the time that the injector stays on (its duty cycle) increases so that more fuel can flow into the engine. If an injector stays on all the time, it is said to be static (wide open, or 100% duty cycle). INJECTORS SHOULD NOT GO STATIC IN A RUNNING ENGINE! If an injector is static in a running engine (open 100% of the time), that injector is no longer able to control fuel delivery. It is just “along for the rideâ€. This could be an indication that the injector is too small for the needs of the engine. Injector duty cycle should usually not exceed 80% in a running engine at any time.
  19. I really like your work, but I don't care for the design much at all. If you could some how tranfer the lines of a 350z front end onto the front of an old Z, that would be interesting.
