  2. it would be camber doing that. My Z has the same issue, but its not adjustable without a kit (camber plates or eccentric bushings front, slotted x-member or eccentric bushings rear).
  3. Heres a chop i did a long time ago. Not bumperless, but the "nose cone" is shaved, and the bumper is recessed. I later shaved the front signals and put them in the new "grill" like the later s30s. I'd do an air dam as well.
  4. I'll be pulling the metric guages in my 83 turbo sometime in the next few weeks. I'll try and get them scanned then. I'd like black faced reverse glow gauges though.
  5. holes can always be filled. Gotta any pics of it mocked up?
  6. curious to see how that wing looks. Havn't seen many on 2+2s.
  7. sorry to bring this thread back up, but i just started the exact same thing this weekend. However I'll be using the n/a shortlbock, with the turbo head and oil pan for response. My mechanical experience goes only as far as changing an alternator, t-stat and oil changes, so i feel a little over my head. I'm starting by disassembling the turbo doner car, and so far have the entire wiring harness ready to by pulled through the firewall. It seems fairly straight forward, since the connectors really only connect one way. However my buddy decided to go ahead and unplug all the fuel injectors without labeling them? Is there a way to find out which goes where? Anyways, thats the only question i have now. I assume i don't have to swap the other harness (one that runs on left side of the engine bay). I'm sure i will have many more questions once i get deeper into the project.
  8. my bone stock 83 n/a doesn't get me anywhere without having to stop and chat about. Even when i got pulled over by cop for an illegal left, we chatted about the car for 10 minutes before he apologetically wrote me a ticket. Also i whenever i drive past people, i can always read there lips when they say "nice porsche!"
  9. Wow, glad I could see those. Nice work!
  10. Maybe its just my comp, but they're still not showing for me.
  11. For junkyard intercoolers, theres always the starion one, but i'd recommend getting one off ebay. Some decent stuff for under $200. While your on ebay, order yourself some piping.
  12. I agree, the bigger circles do look better. However i'd go with something a tad smaller than 007's.
  13. 83 n/a 5spd 2+2, gold and mint. ($6000) 83 turbo 2+2 auto, gold, black and rust, for parts ($350 and 2 packs of labatt 50) Both have 152 000kms on the clock.
  14. I think 2+2s are a little better proportioned, just look a little odd from a few angles. Not a fan of that bumper though. Some of the other simpler air dams are pure sex though.
  15. His profile says he's in arizona though. I'm obviously a little biased, but i'd stay with the zx, especially if you've already sunk time and money into it. If the 260 is rusty, its only going to be a big headache. Yeah the zx is heavier, but for a street driven car its not the end of the world. It gets you both the timeless Z car look, some modern comforts, and still a hell of a performer with some mods. Oh, and lets not forget t-tops. That gets girls, and if your lucky enough to own a 2+2, more than just one girl:icon44: Not that I have anything against s30s, but if there's nothing wrong with the zx, why get rid of it?
  16. I'll have to figure out a way to make trim rings for the cheaper covers
  17. I was refering to the older (top) taillights. Similar style, but cleaner looking.
  18. I'm not sure about newer z31 lights, but the old ones are similar in shape to the s130 ones, but sit a little more flush.
  19. Not sure what ratios you have, but my 2+2 with 3.90s hit about 180km/hr at 4500rpm in 5th.
  20. I saw the thread from the guy who carved his own. I don't have the tools or the patience to make one with a file lol. Also don't have access to a machine shop, or source to get a small piece of 1" aluminum. I asked on a local forum and everyone thought its more cost effective to buy on for 30$ than pay the hourly rate for a machine shop to cut one. For Arizona Z, do you just email them what you want? There's no checkout or anything.
  21. didn't see a spacer listed there. I've got the throttle body already, but was told i need a 1" spacer to make it work with the factory throttle linkage.
  22. I looked at pallnet's site which said they're short materials, theres nothing at all on jsk's site, couldn't find any on ebay, and no luck searching this forum. Anyone know where i can still order one from? -Thanks
  23. I agree with whoever mentioned in the other bumperless zx thread that a modified 280z bumper would look pretty good filling that gap.
