  1. I'm sure lots of you have seen this gorgeous blown beast. Heres a shot i took at auto-x. Mike i hope its alright i posted your car:icon10:
  2. ha, i just glued a slightly modified 280zx hood emblem to the horn button of my grant wheel.
  3. First time playing with my dad's new panasonic lumix dmc-fz50. A wild cucumber in my back yard: I'll be photographing an auto-x event tommorow. I would be racing, but y collarbone's in 2 pieces.
  4. Carguynick; got any more shots of those zxs?
  5. I was just looking at my car, and was trying to figure out where the best place is to cut for the charge pipes is. Does anyone have some close-up pics of where they made there cuts?
  6. Awesome paint. Can't wait to see it at final ride height
  7. Gorgeous, but it needs a passenger seat so you can really show it off to your freinds...and the ladies of course
  8. I've heard the n/a afm will not let the motor rev very high.
  9. If you've got mudflaps, check behind those.
  10. x2. Why not just import. Here in canada, its usually cheaper to have cars imported from japan. Not sure what the american laws are regarding importing cars, but here anything older than 15 years is legal, so the roads are flooded with rhd skylines, silvias, 180sxs, rx7s, 300zxs, gtos, soarers and aristos. MkIV Supras will be legal shortly too!
  11. In elements 2.0, i just select the area i want to change the colour of, then go Enhance>Adjust Color>Hue/Saturation. Now if you want to go from a duller colour to a more vibrant colour (or vice versa), check off "colorize" Now play with the "hue" slider bar until you get the colour you want. To change the intensity of the colour, play with the "saturation" bar. Afterwards, adjusting "brightness/contrast" can bring back lost detail.
  12. Hmmmm, Maybe i'll have to start culturing bacteria and diseases on the outside of my windows.
  13. I have an extra set of front struts. (internals are taken out, but i still have them).
  14. Hmmm, now i'm kinda torn again. Vin, i would assume that your setup is probably a little more efficient, with a higher flowing intercooler, shorter pipes, and less bends. However I looks like theres no room for an A/C compressor, and a ton of cutting on the one side. You wouldn't happen to have any close-ups of where the 3 pipes pass by the rad would you?
  15. I tend to call mine Betty, after bitching betty, a name i once heard to describe the the voice (83 zx). Sometimes i just call it bitch, even though she has all the leverage in the relationship. She still convinces me to buy her shiny expensive things without even asking.
  16. I was just watching "car crazy" with Bary Meguire while browsing HydridZ, and the readers letter that he read at the end was from a fellow Z addict. Just wondering if it was a hybridZer that sent that in. The name was Tom Lesieur (may have spelled that wrong) from florida.
  17. 88 and 89 supercharged mr2's have a electromagnetic clutch also. Theres a light on the dash that tells you when its engaged.
  18. Looks pretty straight forward to me!
  19. I'm generally impartial to black with a polished lip, but i think in this case, I think all polished looks better. If you do go with black though, i say keep the polished centers.
  20. Well luckily my donor car is a 2+2, so i guess the flywheel is covered. Today i was watching phil's clutch video, and it shows the guy installing it going at the flywheel with a cookie or something. Is this an acceptable way to resurface a flywheel? Another question, what would be the disadvantages of using the stock pressure plate? I assume it would lower the amount of torque it hold vs the act one.
  21. Too bad i didn't see that before:icon11: Would have saved a thread lol. I like your setup, and thats prolly what i'll do. I take it you got rid of the stock fan and shroud? If so, what did you use in place? What kind of clearance does that cold pipe behind the rad have? And I assume you did keep you AC? Also, saw in your sig says that your running 12 lbs. Any fuel system mods?
  22. Well i guess i can save a few hundred on an exhaust when i complete my swap into my 83;-)
  23. Well looking at my engine bay i think my intercooler will be more dependant on ease of installation over maximum performance, not to mention, whatever intercooler i pick is guaranteed to come from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/25x11x3-FMIC-Turbo-Intercooler-Mustang-Nissan-280Z-350Z_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ019QQitemZ290162714758QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW This piece caught my eye. Looks like it has some drawbacks though. Air must travel down basically a 36"x5.5"x3" core, plus it has a 180* bend in it. The other drawback i see with having the in and out on 1 side is it looks like it would make it damn near impossible to find a cold air source for intake air. Anyways, I just wanted to see a few examples to help make my decision easier.
  24. Definately like that. I was originally thinking of mounting my head unit like that, but wasn't sure how to mount it without putting a screw through my roof. Also mines has t-tops
