  1. Well Ive been looking for a set of wheels with the proper backspacing and offset for ZG flares and all Ive found so far are the RB-R's and watanabes. R-BR's arent 16's and watanabes are a little to much. ($2400 a set) Ive been looking for the last week or two and I really havent found many wheels with the proper offset for ZG flares. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Maybe a few brands? I love the watanabe style but its about twice as much as I could spend... Thanks
  2. When I did the block sanding for the body line I would just make sure as the sanding block left the edge I pulled it off. If that helps at all, Id assume you would have figured that already.
  3. I dont see how people dont realize they are trampling someone. I would have locked down the store and reviewed the security videos. Then found the people that initially pushed him down (even the people at the front that didnt stop). And what was this all for? A bunch of electronics and crap? It is all about "Me, me, me, get the TV I want, get the IPOD I want!" Its sickening.
  4. Now if I could have that everyday....
  5. PROGRESSISH- Well shucks wanted $30 each for rebuilt calipers minus the pads which I have. Went ahead and got those. I also took the rear rotors and calipers to a brake shop for inspection (turned out most of the guys had Z cars at some point) and one rotor was to thin... So shucks got more of my money... Ill be taking the rear calipers to be rebuilt hopefully for less than the $80 wanted for new ones. Ill go ahead and add in the prices for these like I did earlier so its easier when I have to present this. Brake Parts- Front Rebuilt Calipers- $60- Replaces the original pistons, rubber seals and pad related hardware. Will make assembly alot easier then taking them all apart myself and trying to refurbish them. New Rear Rotors- $65- Replaces the piece of junk rusty, thin ones I bought used... look nice and will last for a long time. Caliper Paint Kit- $18- Increases braking performance by up to 40%, in some cases actually adds hp to a stock motor... Will be red which will look nice.
  6. Well from what Ive seen the airdams sold are really wavy on the weave. Would detract from the quality factor of the car.
  7. Yeah I tried that on some of the other bushings but it was just way to narrow. Then with it frozen you cant get the collars in easily. Either way Im glad its over.
  8. Or make it where you must view all the threads before you can post.
  9. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=105183 Well technically no one lives in Camby being that it doesnt exist... Its canby, OR. But it is close to portland where alot of members are.
  10. Guess it has... Although Im gonna be an engineer.. shouldnt matter right...
  11. Good way to get your parents to like your car is to tell them you could be out drinking, doing drugs and having sex. It has worked for me and my car has been in the garage for ~5 years now.
  12. From what I understand youll have limited time to build the car? If so Im seeing building your own turbo motor may be a little difficult, more leaning towards a stock turbo swap. Also nick whered you get 175 whp? Arent L24's at about 120 stock? Thats a little optimistic for a valve job.
  13. 280z and I bet you could get one a little cheaper.
  14. Thought Id give this a bump, I still have the spoiler for a convenient time to "return" it.. Anyone know if hes still selling on ebay? Im trying to find an auction of his. EDIT--- Just found this, this is huge!!! http://www.atlanticz.ca/ if you look at the list of officers he is VP of atlantic Z!! I will definitely be giving them a call. Im really hoping this will be a breakthrough. $260 would be nice right now! Ill be giving them a call tomorrow, dont want to interrupt their thanksgiving! :)
  15. Yeah I saw on partsamerica rebuilt calipers run about $80. I want to do it right but $360 is a little steep.. Im going to take them to schucks or napa tomorrow see what their opinion is. Ok I read through my chiltons (which I wasnt able to read at first since it was missing..) and it suggests using air pressure as you said. But on my piece of junk 80's air compressor I just have an air nozzle for tires and such. Which wont put any pressure on it and the hose is broken, so it realllyyy wont put any pressure on it. Any ideas for other methods?
  16. Happy thanksgiving, we should be very thankful being that we have about 500000% more then 99.99999% of the world. (exageration, but you get the point )
  17. Hey, finally trying to sort out my brakes. In the front are stock brakes but they are new pads and the rotors were turned. (4 years ago, car hasnt moved far since) what should I do to clean the old pads or should I forget them and get new pads. The rears brakes are off of a 83 280zx 2+2 NA and they are a bit rounded so Im going to replace them. All the calipers have been dissassembled and theyre all pretty poor looking. The rubber is rotting in some spots and they are rusty like anything 30 years old. My question is, how much further should I dissassemble them, id like to sandblast them, replace the o rings, repaint them, etc Is there a rightup on how to remove the pistons, havent found much yet through searching though I will continue to. Any advice on how I should proceed.
  18. Yeah I was going to add a little note at the end saying just kidding but I forgot. PROGRESS I was able to get all the rear suspension bolted in and everything tightened down. I seem to be missing a bolt to the front control arm mounting crossmember so Ill have to find one. Also was able to get the disc brake brackets bolted on and now I realize their on backwards...grrrr. Also was able to get the calipers dissasembled, having to decide what to do with them now. Does Shucks carry rebuild kits?
  19. Thats a really old video but Ive never seen the up close videos of the aftermath. As said RIP.
