  1. Actually, there is BSPT (British standard pipe thread) and NPT (National Pipe Thread). They are not interchangeable.
  2. No I meant the Mk3. Perhaps the wikipedia weight I found was a dry weight (or perhaps it was just wrong, it is wikipedia after all). He is still borderline with your weights.
  3. A guy in Australia can get a lot of carbon parts from Japan, I am sure he could get them sent to the states rather then Australia. See here http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,4072.0.html Not real cheap though.
  4. Heads up, not all 280zx starters are gear reduction ones. Edited: False/Incorrect Information. See Pharaohabq for correct information.
  5. ^ I was thinking it looked rather 4wd like as well. At first I thought he had replaced his shock with the football.
  6. I'm on the same wave length as you mate, I was just explaining it for310z.
  7. I like your optimism, but lets look at the math and see what we come up with. Supra Mk3 weight 3389lbs (wikipedia weight I am sorry, might not be accurate) 260Z weight 2425lbs (zshop.net.au values) Supra with 700hp is ticking time bomb. So 700 x 3389 / 2425 = 978 hp. So if your aiming for 1000 hp then you might be in the same ball park as the supra guys. But hey, I guess you can always replace the gearbox if that happens. Oh yeah, get the damn thing on a dyno and stop messing around with a street tune man, don't want all that hard work going down the drain (especially when your playing with big horsepower, boosted air pressure and explosive gases NO)
  8. Video looked like the operator was shutting down (I.E. In the video he is only tuning to 4k rpm at this stage), check the throttle plate actuator.
  9. You might be on the wrong forum mate. If you need help with specifics then ask specific questions. If it is a question like, "How do I rebuild my car" or "How do I plumb in a Fuel Cell" then you are going to get ignored.
  10. What is the title of this thread again? And yet you went looking at another 3 Zs?
  11. Love the keychain and fender cover ideas. Hope we don't get too carried away though.
  12. I liked the old stickers, just never got around to getting one. If it is too big for people, perhaps it could be made a bit smaller. Also, what about HybridZ written in the Datsun script text that you see on the rear hatch.
  13. http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&safe=active&client=safari&rls=en-us&q=fuel%20cell%20site%3Ahybridz.org&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi
  14. How are you americans getting your hands on our RB30E wheels? Just kidding, good luck with the work. I put the RB30 wheel into my L283ET distributor so I could get a cylinder 1 signal. If you can get the RB30 program to work, then you could just get people to elongate the cyl 1 hole (like what RTz did, but instead of running a second hole, just drill the hole to connect to the existing slot).
  15. Plus it is hard to play the Wii while driving. Come on mate, spill the beans, what are you building?
  16. That . . . um . . . well . . . arh I don't know what to say. Funniest part would have to be the fake second set of pipes. It will look so crap when people see black soot in two of the pipes and not in the other two. Would be funny if the exhaust is bolted to the fire tank. It would go up nice and quick.
  17. Is the boost controller down near the oil pan?
  18. Come on you have to elaborate then. What are you building?
  19. LEDs are current controlled devices, you want to make sure they are getting the right current (in your case 100mA). When you put rated current (100mA) through your diode you will have a voltage drop (in your case 1.2V). So you want to add up all your voltage drops (5 off 1.2V = 6V). This leaves 3V that you need to drop across a load. Now you have your voltage law of V = IZ (Voltage = Current * Impedance). So to drop 3V with 100mA running through it you would run a 30 Ohm resistor. Having a 33 Ohm resistor will draw a little less current (not a bad thing as you don't want to fry your LEDs). So a car has a 12V system, a bike a 6V system, so why would you need to build anything on 9V? HA.
  20. Looking good mate. On the issue of us being able to get the RB30 blocks for cheap, yes that is great for us. However you guys can get V8 blocks for cheap where we cannot. So it is tit for tat. Keep up the work mate, I'll have to stop by and see this build sometime.
  21. Wow, very impressive. May I ask which project? Datsun, Porsche or something I haven't noticed on the forum yet?
  22. Well this will help with my future projects (although coffee doesn't seem to keep me awake, if anything it relaxes me, so maybe it won't help at all). Bit of a step up from the Gaggia Classic that I am use to. Going to have to get use to the steam being on the other side.
  23. Merry Christmas, waiting on the wife to get out of the shower so I can give her her presents. Oh yeah, and get mine.
  24. Where did you or where are you going to put your boost control valve. I have the same one and am wondering where to put it, been thinking about the valance panel behind the firewall, but still haven't made up my mind yet. By the way, I love the black anodised fittings. Have been wanting to go silver and black in my engine bay. Although I want to do black braided hoses as well.
