  1. WOW. That is going to be insane. 6" intake. HA! I am definitely subscribing to this one.
  2. Check the small ends on your rods. In my case the rods actually stood up by themselves in the piston. Not the sort of resistance you want when you are running your engine at redline.
  3. Any insite on how they make the mold? It almost looks like a sheet of fibreglass has been vaccumed on. Are you keeping the fuel filler cap? Reason I ask is it looks like the mold is flattened out around the fuel filler rather then keeping the curve of the panel.
  4. Thanks John, that make perfect sense, you're a wealth of information. Would be pretty ugly having that shear off and spear through into the cabin.
  5. That is what I did, keeps dust out, but there is no reason why you couldn't just keep the distributor cap on it. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/70478-inspired-by-ron-ls1-coils-alternate-mount/page__view__findpost__p__674536
  6. Structurally how would the following scenarios differ. - Running a single tube through a hole in the firewall. - Running your tube to the firewall (hitting a reinforced plate/mount) then on the engine side of the car running a tube from the backside of the plate to the wheel well. I always assumed that the idea was to tie the whole car as one and since the wheels are loading while driving the car may flex through the wheel wells. However is there any reason why the tube has to be one piece? Or can it be as per option number 2?
  7. Now I know how my frame rails got damaged.
  8. I had a similar issue, but from completely different cause. The previous owner of my engine decided that a $100 stock pulley was too expensive for the L28 that he rebuilt. So he decided that a welded harmonic balancer was the go. It destroyed the key and keyway like you have shown. When I pulled the crank the bearings were scored/worn as well among other issues. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you may have other problems too.
  9. Wow, that is awesome. Is it just me or has your signature list of cars gone down? Hope that isn't anything to do with the cost of this cool 240z. Brad
  10. My post yesterday didn't come through. It looks great! Going to really mean business now. Keep up the good work.
  11. WOW! You have raised the bar mate. I just found this thread and have read from start to finish. Definitely subscribing. Brad
  12. Congrats, your a few months ahead of myself and my wife. I am really looking forward to it, can't wait.
  13. I am with Mag, if you were doing any of the work, your hands would have been too greasy to take the photos. Plus the one staged photo of you your hands are perfectly clean. I know this is a clean engine, but I know I can get greasy hands from researching an engine build. Come on mate, you have to give credit where credit is due, your daughter did all the work and you were the helper right. Seriously though mate, it is looking good. Will look even better when it gets transplanted back into a s30 chassis. Also, that car is going to turn quite a few heads when you open the bonnet. No one will be expecting such a clean looking engine in that truck.
  14. The bulbs (stop, indicator, reverse etc) are wired to a plug that is attached to the back of the light assembly.
  15. Mag's Merc Zcar vs Ron's BMW Zcar. That is a match I would like to see. Would be great to take them both to a zcar.com meet and pop the hoods. HA. Sorry for the disruption, looking good and awaiting more guys.
  16. I think I almost wet myself reading that comment. On a serious note, that guy must be greatfull of all his effort.
  17. So what was the new engine/drivetrain choice? You said you would let us know.
  18. Your thread title on the other hand is not a good idea and will cause you some trouble with the mods since you are breaking the rules.
  19. My mate has always had good results doing it this way.
  20. Did you not all hear? The latest earth quake actually shifted the earth off of its axis and shortened the day. We had less time in the day to post. HA!!!!!
  21. I just found a good feature for those of us that were having trouble viewing our subscribed threads. When in "Manage Topics", down the bottom is a drop down box which lets you select how old activity you want to display. For us that use it everyday you can put 1 day. WOOHOO.
  22. Cool, that works. Knew that I had found it somehow last night.
  23. Just found the site support page via a google search, hopefully I will find my answer there.
  24. Ok, I am officially LOST. Where do I find this watched threads link? I thought I had found it last night but now I don't know where I found it. Also, I use to log into the control panel and all my subscribed unread threads were right there with newest ones at the top. Is this what the watched threads link looks like, or do i have to scroll through a few hundred threads to see which are unread? Cheers Brad
