  1. Not true in every case. I was able to make money on my RB powered 71. Bought the car for 6,500. Sold for 14,600. Gotta love ebay.
  2. Could be a good deal for 4k. 6,500 should get you a good rust free clean title 240z here in California. Although I've noticed the prices climbing more in the 8 to 12k range for Z's that should be 6.5k. Not sure if it's an economy thing or Z's are becoming more sought after. You should post some pictures of it.
  3. Well I got the tail lights in last night and was able to start cleaning them up today. They look like they were stored in a garage for a very long time. I took a gamble when I bought these due to the bad pictures and possibility of hidden damage but they turned out to be amazing. No cracks at all, even the bulbs are in good shape! Luckily the grim wasn't thick, everything cleaned up easily. The seller could have sold these for big money if he took the time to clean them up. Before: After:

  7. Been cleaning the manifold up, I'm pretty sure it's been chromed not just polished. Either way it's nice and shiny!
  8. The last dash cap I installed ended up cracking after the first year. Car was always garaged too.
  9. Well I couldn't resist picking up these JDM/Euro tails. Got a great deal on them, the guy could have sold them for much more if he had cleaned them up and took better pictures. Now I just have to wait for them to show up from Australia. Can't wait to bring these back to life.

  11. Thank you sir, I think I'm going to use the heat shield just for the fact it will look better than looking at the rusty exhaust manifold. The 280zx's actually ran an injector cooling fan to help reduce vapor lock due to heat soaked injectors, but from what I've read it's not really that big of a deal.
  12. Picked up this shaved & polished N42 intake manifold for a hell of a good price. I'll get around to installing this once I get everything I need to fix my blown exhaust gasket. Perfect time to upgrade

  15. From what I've seen you can get the stock steering wheels for cheap, it's the horn buttons that are worth more. You should probably just get the hub, they go for 80-90 new. Plus the 240z wheel is danm near pencil thin. If it wasn't for that I would just keep it OG. I'm thinking of going with a deep corn nardi wood wheel with polished spokes.
  16. Not sure if I'll keep it or not. It will be a little while before get around to replacing it though. The wheel I want is going to be pushing 400 bucks once I get the hub and adapter, and I've got a bunch of other things that need attention first. If you want it I can let you know first..
  17. Well it's been slow going lately. Just been enjoying driving around. I installed the period correct arm rest and it's so nice to have something to rest your arm on! In the process of putting the stock radio in, as far as function goes it's just going to lite up when the rest of the interior lights come on. There are no speakers anyway so it's just for looks. If I ever go on a long drive Ill just bring an ipod. I also intend to change out the boost gauge for one that fills the hole better and will have green back lighting to match the other gauges. Can't wait to get a steering wheel too!
