I haven't seen an F-body trans, but I don't think they have the "bucket" for the second ball and socket that the GTO shift linkage uses. I'll try to post a pic or two tomorrow Mike

Don't know if the GTO shifter will a non-GTO trans. I haven't looked closely at the others, but the GTO shifter has a second ball/socket in a depression farther back on the tranny. The B&M does away with that part of the linkage. Anyway, Paul if you want one, you can have mine-I think I have all the parts- for the shipping. Mike

Clive, For what it's worth, I'm running my pump in the stock location for a 280, stock lines to the engine bay, then AN lines to regulator, to the rail, and out of the FPR to the stock return line. Filter before pump. I've only run a couple of auto X's and 4 runs at the drag strip with probably 1/8th to a quarter tank, but no stumbles at all. Mike

Paul, http://www.ddperformance.com/t56dia.jpg Mine (from 05 GTO) is 29 3/4 inches with the GTO linkage removed. The GTO linkage adds 3 3/8 inches. The B&M kit includes an optional set-back bar of 2 1/2 inches (which I am using). The biggest reason not to use the GTO linkage is that it is encased in a plastic housing which will not let the trans sit high enough in the tunnel. Hope this helps, Mike

I would suggest buying the Helm's manual for the donor car, It will really help identifying all those pesky electrical and plumbing parts. Way worth the money. Mike

Thanks Boy from Oz for the pics. It jogs my 2 year old memory of what excactly I did. I trimmed the large bracket down, bolted that into the car with my backing plate to move the assembly up off the firewall to my taste, then just slid the pedal in and used the existing two bolts at the top. Mike

1- I think it is extremely smooth and seamless. No lag whatsoever. 2- a- Am using the GM speed sensor, not using the cruise at this time because I don't have the cancelation switches installed on the brake and clutch ( I have them and am thinking about adding them in the future as cruise would be nice). b- I am using the stock Z speedo with the CableX box to convert to cable drive. East hook up, smooth and silent. I really wanted to keep my stock guages. I believe you can use pretty much any electronic speedo though. 3- In the GTO the gas pedal attaches to a plastic plate that has the stop built in. That attaches to the pedal assembly. I kept the plastic plate and attached that to my backing plate, so range of motion is exactly the same as it was in the GTO. Hope that helps, Mike

I used a plate behind the FBW pedal to get it to the right height for heel/toe. I used two of the existing z pedal mount holes (re-drilled the pedal mount and base plate), and drilled one new hole through the firewall. I used 3 different thickness base plates before I got it where I wanted it. Mike

Check all of your vacuum lines. Expecially the ones under the hood. If they are cracked at the ends, and they probably are, your heater controls will not work. Mike

Jason, Congrats, looks really nice. Just let her do what she wants with the house, and you design the important part (garage). You can stretch the garage space for not a lot of money and make sure you get the outlets you need installed. While ours was being framed, I installed air lines, TV, and telephone hook ups. Much easier with out the sheetrock and no exposed wires or pipes. Its stll only technically a 3 car but I stretched the disign out to 36 wide by 30 deep with 3 separate doors to gain a little working room. Mike

I had lasik about 13 years ago in Canada, because it was much cheaper to fly up there and have it than just to have it done here. I had lousy eyesight before, and haven't worn glasses since. I am starting to realize that I will need reading glasses before long, but I am 50. I had worn contacts 24 hours a day for over 20 years and have some scarring due to grit under the lenses working on cars but my vision is still pretty darn good. I shoot quite a bit, and can still see better than I ever did with the contacts. Best money I ever spent. Mike

M1noel. Thanks for info on the switch but what did you do for a Seedometer connection on the t56, Did you use a modified tail housing from stealth products like JTR reccomends or something else? I used the Abbott's cable-X box (I bought mine from John's) that converts the vss signal from the trans to cable drive. I wanted to use all my stock guages. Its works really well and is totally silent. Mike

The Cable-X box from Abbott's has a hall effect on/off switch... so probably.

The sender that is tight against the tunnel wall with the T56 is the back up light switch. You can easily massage (read pound) the wall to make it fit. Or using a pry bar with a rag aroung the sharp edge just move the wall a little- it will fit. You will have to remove the ears from the old z tranny mount but shouldn't have to remove the solid parts. There are pictures on here if you search. Mike

I just checked mine. I have about 1/2" clearance crank pulley to steering rack, and as stated in other threads, I did some work on the driver's side motor mount to provide more room for the alternator. Two years next month with no problems. Mike

A couple weeks ago I asked if anyone knew a source for R200 ring and pinion sets, either Nissan (obsolete) or after market.
