  1. Hi, I've done a bit of a search on here, but didn't find what I'm after. I'm looking for a clutch upgrade for my Turbo L24 (maybe sports type), and I see you can buy nice stuff from the US (Turbo L28 stuff), but the cost to get a flywheel and pressure plate here (Australia), is a bit more than I would want to spend on freight So in my research, my clutch specs are Size 225, Spline OD 25.5 & No. of Teeth 24, a RB30 is Size 240, Spline OD 25.5 & No. of Teeth 24, so from this it tells me it's a larger plate (same as 280zx I believe) But I still need the larger flywheel (contact area), so this is where my question comes in, will a RB30 flywheel fit my L24 crank also is the ring gear the same size, since the RB30 are so much easier to buy stuff for here in Oz, this is where I got my specs from http://www.exedy.com.au/SpecSheet.aspx?SpreadsheetRowId=63775 Nigel
  2. My N47 (closed chamber) head has this as well, I was going to use it for my knock sensor, but under further investigation, it seems it would be to noisy http://forums.hybridz.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=20235&d=1264413284 Nigel
  3. I read this to, yesterday. I'll need to remove the coil pac and see whats behind it, this is a L24 engine, so I'm not hold my breath to find something good to connect to. Nigel
  4. Yes sorry, L28 Turbo exhaust manifold
  5. Hi, I'm about to fit my knock sensor (KnocksenseMS) and I'm interested in finding the best place to fit it, on the block or in the side of the head, I think I answered my own question, from looking at the picture, the head looks like it will have to do, no room to fit it in the block, will this affect it ? engine specs are N/A L24e engine P30 Block (standard dished piston) N47 Head 440cc Injectors Megasquirt II, running extra code EDIS Intercooled 3 inch exhaust Nigel
  6. Hi, I'm after a stock L28 Turbo Exhaust Manifold, no mods done to it, only issue I like on the other side of the planet, Burnie, Tasmania, Australia, 7320 I've used this before to get my last manifold, http://www.usps.com/prices/priority-mail-international-prices.htm#cz so if some ones interested, I have paypal. Nigel
  7. I assume you did try to source the LD pump in Australia, I saw a thread and you mentioned you got it from Japan (?)
  8. I was reading another post http://forums.hybridz.org/showpost.php?p=1113697&postcount=19 and it had a link to this, http://www.corvette-restoration.com/resources/technical_papers/Timing101.pdf it's a nice read. Nigel
  9. and when the engine stops, what happens to the oil still sitting in the turbo (since the oil pump has stopped), I assume it would 'cook', if the drains at the bottom, it can escape (gravity), but these are my thoughts only, I got nothing to back it up but common sense. Nigel
  10. it's answered here http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=157968 if anyones elses is needing this information Nigel
  11. Paul, do you have a plot of this (kpa vs RPM) that you are willing to share, I would like to compare it to my low kpa settings on my tune. Nigel
  12. For me, this was my first venture into EFI (was brought up on carbs), I brought a complete car for $300, knowing It had all the EFI gear, and it was still running, i just moved over 95 % of the EFI stuff, made some changes to the harness, and rewired the fuse box a little .It was up and running with in a few weeks or so from when I first started. now I've ventured out (18 months or so ago), running Megasquirt, EDIS, and turbo charged it. I'm still using 90% of the original wiring harness, I made a adaptor to connect Megasquirt to the MR30 ECU plug, changed some of the fuse box wiring, added some extra wiring for the EDIS (spark), bolted on the turbo. It's running very well now. Nigel
  13. For me, I started with the standard code and megatune (I only needed basic fuel at the time), I had no one to help except a few forums, and to be honest, it was a huge learning curve, as I have never done this type of thing before. I spent a lot of time on http://www.megamanual.com/index.html trying to figure out all the different settings, but using the Stim and megatune and the megamanual site, it made thing clearer, on how it worked together. After a few months I moved to EDIS (spark), still using the basic code, again, another hunt on the forums, and the megamanual site for info on how it works and setting that needed to be changed. Then I upgrade to a Turbo, at this point I knew what I was doing, and it was not hard to set this up. Now, I'ved moved onto "Extra", I was looking for the larger fuel table 16*16, spark is still 12*12. (fuel cut is a nice feature on decel) I spent a lot of time again on the forums, and www.msextra.com, trying to figure out all the new options and setting, still running megatune though. At some point I will have a look at tunner stuido. One thing that made life easier, is a wideband and a laptop to log your pulls, so you can do your tuning 'on the road' Nigel
  14. Not sure whats it doing, it seems to be re-sizing them smaller, I'll link to them from my web site, http://noddle.customer.netspace.net.au/MR30/R30Skyline%200003.jpg http://noddle.customer.netspace.net.au/MR30/Wirediagpage1.jpeg http://noddle.customer.netspace.net.au/MR30/Wirediagpage2.jpeg http://noddle.customer.netspace.net.au/MR30/Wirediagpage3.jpeg http://noddle.customer.netspace.net.au/MR30/Wirediagpage4.jpeg http://noddle.customer.netspace.net.au/MR30/Wirediagpage5.jpeg http://noddle.customer.netspace.net.au/MR30/Wirediagpage6.jpeg http://noddle.customer.netspace.net.au/MR30/Wirediagpage7.jpeg Nigel
  15. sorry about that, I must have resized them to small, I'll re-upload them here, for others who may need the information, I'll do it tonight after work as for the indicator, no idea, I used the EFI out of the R30, for my 240K Nigel
  16. this is your lucky day, the 'R30Skyline 0003.jpg' picture is the best one of the EFI setup, high quality to. if the fuse box pic is not good enough, I may be able to do a better one, but not today. Nigel
  17. From my research, these are some of the ways it can be done, these pictures have been sourced from a few sites, so I hope the owners don't mind me posting them Nigel
