  1. use the search function..... but since I been there, http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/98987-l6-oil-pump-differences/ Nigel
  2. looks like lack of oil, to me those head bold should be full of oil... crank it over, with coil disconnected, see how much oil comes out. Nigel
  3. I came across this thread while looking for something else, and it got me thinking, I found this http://www.motorenteile.mahle.com/eLIZA/mahle/query/product/kolben/byParams?cocoon-xmlform-view=KolbenCriteria&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2Fdurchmesser%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2Fdurchmesser%2FstrValue=87&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FfeuerstegHoehe%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FfeuerstegHoehe%2FstrValue=&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FkompressionsHoehe%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FkompressionsHoehe%2FstrValue=&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FaugenAbstand%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FaugenAbstand%2FstrValue=&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2Fueberhoehung%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2Fueberhoehung%2FstrValue=&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FmuldenTiefe%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FmuldenTiefe%2FstrValue=&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FgesamtLaenge%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FgesamtLaenge%2FstrValue=&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FmuldenDurchmesser%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FmuldenDurchmesser%2FstrValue=&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FbolzenDurchmesser%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FbolzenDurchmesser%2FstrValue=&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FbolzenLaenge%2Foperator=delta01&%2Fcriteria%2Fabmessungen%2FbolzenLaenge%2FstrValue=&cocoon-action-136116588c8b71036f598f7973214f258e640547%3AKolbenCriteria%3AqueryExec=Start+Search not sure how to read it all, but may be useful to someone else. Nigel
  4. You should be able to get better than that, I can get 17-18ish AFR at light cruise Nigel
  5. I though the BB (ball bearing) type used a restrictor, the floating type (cheaper), used no restrictor, my floating bearing turbo runs fine ( no leaks or smoke) with no restrictor for a T off my oil pressure gauge. Nigel
  6. and make sure it's above the oil level in the pan.
  7. I have XTGold still sitting on my Win 7 machine, I have the original disk in the cupboard..
  8. The good old days, 12+ years ago, I used xtlink.com to do this,
  9. http://www.angelfire.com/extreme/280zxt/page11.html I have this book marked, because it good. Nigel
  10. and don't forget wire welding, and I'm not talking about mig / tig I did my brother flares on his Holden Torana this way. I still use it to fuse thin metal together, since my mig skills are still developing. Nigel
  11. use water to stop the dust, but don't electrocute yourself.
  12. You would not have to worry about it, well not for 20 - 25 years.. not a nice way to die.. Nigel
  13. Is this a little high ?, I run my at about 40psi ( L24, 440cc injectors ) Nigel
  14. This is what I'm doing for my car http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?42393-JDM-Style-Tail-Lights Nigel
  15. I did this, just a extra step, but the 'on the fly tuning is way better' Nigel
  16. Depending on what ECU you are running, but can you remove the turbo from the equation ? ie, remove the pipe from the turbo to the manifold ( or configure a temporary pipe to connect the flapper ), and then do a heavy decel, and see if it smokes ? if it sill smokes, maybe leaking valve guide seals Nigel
  17. Pull the fuel rail off, install 1 injector at a time, with some rubber grease on the o-ring, apply pressure and twist the injector at the same time, have the injector on a 20ish degree angle, so the o-ring sits into the rail more in one area, until the o-ring is fully in the rail then straighten it up, put all 6 injectors into the rail, then fit it to the manifold. been careful not to have a injector come out. PS take your time, don't rush it. Nigel
  18. in Tuner Studio it's, Tools / Sensor Calibration select MPX4250 for the default one that MS2 v3.0 board uses. Nigel
  19. What version of MS are you running ?, I'm using "MS2Extra Serial 310" and Trigger Wizard works Nigel
  20. I run 40 psi ( give or take a little), 60 maybe a little high, and I'm not running the capacitor on the coil pack Nigel
  21. I agree, I found it had a steeper learning curve than MS, but I did enable 'Extended Mode' Nigel
  22. I've seen this on mining trucks 20 years ago, it was used for cold weather I believe, closed until radiator was at a certain temperature then it would open. I'm not sure if the trucks used a thermostat or not, or this may have been the water temperature control Nigel
  23. Hi, Would you have a print out of your timing curve ? (RPM / Degree / manifold vacuum ) I would love to see how it looks, I assume you done the timing on the dyno or is this one of those 'trade secrets' Nigel
  24. put some oil in the cylinder before you do your test, this will give you a idea about where the issue is. if the compression comes up, it's rings (stuck / worn / broken or bad cylinder - scratches ) if it does not come up, valves or head gasket I hope this helps Nigel
