With some research, when I did mine, I spent many hours looking through the " MegaSquirt Map Information Sharing (all code versions)" sticky, http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99689 (from this I got things like RPM / KPa ranges, Datsun temp sensor ohm ranges, these sort of things) and the MS Manual, http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/mtune.htm the manual explains almost everything. For me it was a huge learning curve, there was no one local to ask question, except hybridz and another forum, I built my unit, connected it to the stimulator, and my PC and spent many hours going though each step of the MS Manual, and entering the data into megatune, If I weren't sure of something, Google is your friend. I found that with the stimulator it made things more clearly on how it all worked, and how the different bits fitted together, like engine warm up. Also for me I didn't fit this to the car till I was happy that I had set up my unit as best I could. As for your question "Injector pulse width" with "Bosch 440cc low impedence injectors", to be hounest I don't know the answer, for me I used the original injectors and the resistor pack that was already fitted, this made setting up injectors easier. (see picture, this data was from the MS Manual) If nothing else, read the MS Manual, http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/mtune.htm I'm no expert, but the more you fiddle and play, the easier it will get for you. Not to sound like a prick, but since you have a wideband, you with a mate and a laptop could tune this mostly by your selves, well at least get it in the ball park. Nigel

Look like what I did awhile ago http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=928000#post928000 Nigel

Derek, What code are you using that has 16x16 cells ? Nigel

As some you may know, this topic came up before in 2005 he's a link http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=98988&highlight=spark+plug at the bottom their is a link to a '.pdf' off some testing that was done, Nigel -
This is a DD (well weekends now), so no high octane fuel for me, Nigel

slightly off topic, but is TIG welding like Oxy / acetylene wire welding ? Nigel

yes it was better, before PSI started to build at 4k, at 5k it hit 10psi, I lifted my foot when it hit 12psi, (with out actuator connected) from memory with the actuator connected, it was about 5psi at about 3.5 -4 k after 7 psi up to 5K, 12 psi by 5.5-6K so up to 5K the waste gate is working as it should (I have a 7psi actuator now) after that it starts to over boost. I have two ways to go, I could add to the flapper to make it larger (maybe a thick washer, slightly larger, spin the centre out so it fits over the original flapper, and weld then together, then make the hole larger, (this may not be to hard to do) or what's I'm going to do over Easter, fit my intercooler, and run 12psi, and tune Megasquirt to run rich at 5+ k Nigel
-
I'm running a standard type of head gasket, so this should give before I blow anything up I hope, If I run rich at the high end, keep boost down to about 12psi (I have over boosting issues and 12 seems to be where it the maxes out), run my intercooler, I should be ok.. if I blow it up, I have a L28 I can rebuild, but I would need to source dished pistons Nigel

If your AFR are not right or close I would think you will have issue, when I did mine, step 1, get the car to idle with a good AFR (mines about 13.5), step 2, have some one sit next to you with a laptop and watch the AFR, drive slowly (in a area with no, or not much traffic), have your friend change the VE table for each RMP / Map cell, to you are happy with the AFR (14.7 ish for low load / RMP, 15-16 ish for crusing, 13 -14 as you go up the revs, I found MS was a steep learning curve to get it setup, but after a day or so it become very easy to use Nigel

Hi, I did some work on my wastegate this afternoon, but it looks like there just not enough material to remove to fix the issue.. 7psi up to 5K, 12 psi by 5.5-6K Nigel
-
It should matter if you you anti-corrosion/ anti-freeze. Nigel

Hi, I'm have problems with over boosting, so I put my 7psi actuator on today because my other one was a 10psi with a external spring to help reduce the psi, hoping to stop it over boosting (12psi), but it didn't make any difference. So in my testing I left the waste gate open (unconnected from the flapper arm), PSI started to build a 4k, at 5k it hit 10psi, I lifted my foot when it hit 12psi, so to me this means the waste gate is not letting enough exhaust out through the wategate., So I believe I need to open the hole (in the wastegate), but what I need to know is how much meat the little flapper needs to seal, and for it no to burn through. Note: wategate is in the turbo if I didn't make it clear. Nigel

Not to get off topic, but what is the "vacuum/boost gauge" called ?, I couldn't see it in the list on my 2.88 code Nigel
-
Thanks for the reply s, So 20ish is maximum by the looks, I'll need to finish setting up my intercooler sooner, rather than later by the looks. Nigel

"What kind of turbo is that", I brought it second hand, .50 AR Compressor, .63 AR Turbine, .57 Trim "what kind of fuel pressure regulator are you using". the standard N/A one that was on the engine. Nigel
-
"Do you have any type of AFR gauge", I have a wide band that lives in the car "what pressure are you running with those injectors?" the gauge says 32psi without vacuum "Have you figured out what your compression ratio is" No "What kind of head gasket are you using" standard Nissan one "I'm pretty surprised your intake temps are only 37C (~100F). What does it get it up to when you get on it" when logging (I checked last night), flat out in the first 3 gears it reached 70C "do you have any pics?" my web site.. http://noddle.110mb.com/ The engine is out of a MR30 skyline, L24e Nigel

Hi, Just finished setting up my NA / Turbo conversion, and I was wondering what is a safe psi to run on my NA block, my engine specs are: L24, using a P30 Block, dished pistons N47 head RB30 injectors (about 200 cc) EDIS Megasquirt no intercooler yet, but intake is about 37C average I start to drop spark when boost comes on, see attached picture the waste gate actuator is factory set for 10 psi, but I've added a external spring, and when testing with a compressor, it starts to open at 3-4 psi when running in the car, if I powers slowly it maxed out at 5psi, but if I power into it quickly, it maxes out at 10 psi, but I must say I love the power, and the way it throws you back into the seat. I haven't held it flat for more than 5 seconds or so, and I haven't tried it out above 3rd gear, since 3 flat out is speeding.. any insights would be helpful Nigel

If this doesn't work use spuds instead of grease. edit: just noticed the date.. silly me. Nigel

Can anyone tell me the flow rate for standard RB30 injectors
Noddle replied to Noddle's topic in Nissan RB Forum
I found this site http://www.users.bigpond.com/interject/MEMBERS.HTM but I don't know how to convert it to get the injectors cc's Nigel -
This is how I did mine http://classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?p=197098#post197098 second post Nigel

Hi, Since I'm running EDIS now, I though I would update this info a bit, as stated above, I haven't put this on a dyno, all my tunning has been do by driving around. Nigel MSII-v2888-EDIS.zip
