I would be interested in getting some new stuff to listen too as well. and of course if I dont like all the copies will be destroyed. but if I do like, I will go out and buy the bands CD right away! if anyone is interested in my catalog just lemme know and I will post it up. if anyone is interested I have the ablility to burn DVDs.

I was thinking aout doing this with my 40GB iRiver: When I wanted to add a sub to my stock stereo I had to buy a line converter thing. it was a little circuit board with four wires coming out of it that you had to connect to the +/- of the L & R speakers. what this circuit board did was convert this signal into one set of RCAs and a useable signal for the amp. Since the amp can run off of this, and sense volume by the converted volume voltage from the stock speakers, then the same should be true of you hooked one of these converters to the headphone jack of any portable device. you could then adjust the gain on your main amp to compensate for any signal loss or lack of volume control you might have. All my music is oh-so slowly being converted to MP3, I am sick of carring around 100CDs and always digging through them. I dont listen to the radio (because radio is a sick joke) So it would be nice if a setup like this would work that way I could get rid of the stereo in my car, and just carry around my MP3 player with me. Think something like that would work?

L28T Z31 conversion running mild boost for daily driver status. Big brakes front and rear, euro bumpers, shaved marker lights, DARK tinted windows, Stock gauges with new gauges hidden behind them. Going for an updated Stock apperance. some nice Satin silver five spokes with deep dishes. stock fenders. #2 Series one rust free 70' White, CF body panels made to look stock. euro bumpers front and rear with the BRE chin spoiler. Panasport CR8s 16x7 16x8. Sr20DET black top with Silvia 6 speed. Motec EFI, Defi meters, lightweight sparco seats, big brakes, stock fenders, stock marker lights, stock mirrors, tinted to the shades of night. #3 280Z, Flat black, No interior, No dash, one seat, full cage. Supercharged LS1, Five speed, R230 LSD, Huge brakes, Even bigger wheels. (polished lip,black centers. CF hood, ZG flares, shaved marker lights, stock mirrors, bumpers shaved, 240Z front airdamn and signals. 432 grill, again tinted black, custom plate that reads "Darth" or "Vader" maybe even "Satan" the purpose of this car is to scare little kids, and give squirrles heart attacks for miles in all directions. Also is meant to set off every car alarm in a ten mile radius at once. #4 240Z, ZG flares, Watanabes or other old school rims, 15-16 inch, stretched tires, L31 with triples, 12-1 compression. STOCK interior, built chassis. RHD no tint. and thats really it, My girlfriend wants two, but those dont count unless she chimes in here.
  5. Hey now, thats completely understandable. Ive done it ONCE, and that one time will be the last. those stupid bumper shocks, and then removing the gas tank to get the passengers side out! bogus I tells ya!
  6. dont give up yet, Im wasnt saying that you cannot use the stock 77 dizzy, I was just recommending that you replace it while your at it. The stock dizzy should do fine for small amounts of boost, but I dont think I would use it for anything in the double digits, (or really even close for that matter) somebody else should chime in here as I have no experiance with the stock 280Z ignition, just my opinion that the 280ZX dizzy is a better choice, and the turbo harness and dizzy an even better choice. you can always use the stock 77 stuff at first, but be cool on the boost knob, and listen for pennies rattling around in the cylinders. once you get that motor in, it shouldnt take more than an hour to drop in the ZX dizzy when you get, and it shouldnt take more than a saturday to drop in the zx turbo harness N stuff once you get it all together.
  7. you can only use the turbo dizzy if you have the turbo harness and ECU. are there are two different versions of the turbo dizzy to add to the frustration of piecing together a good system. its a tough swap to do on a budget, but it can be done. good luck with it EH! cant wait to hear the news that its up and running.
  8. Are you going to use the 77 harness with the stock 77 dizzy? I would highly recomend going to the junkyard and buying a late ZX dizzy with the E12-80 module. you can eliminate a good deal of wires and crap from the 77 ignition system and it really makes setup, and trouble shooting so much easier. I imagine (again I have no experiance with this setup, just somethign I bookmarked a long time ago.) that this system is easy to hook up, it says that it can work on points, reluctor, or electronic systems, so that pretty much covers anything that uses a distributer. Be aware though that these are sent in kit form, and you have to solder everything yourself. its not difficult, but it does take patients.

Hey Mike, I dont have any experiance with this ignition system: (scroll down the page) http://www.autospeed.com/shop/category_579/browse.html but I have bought some of the Jaycar Do-It-Yourself kits before and have nothing but good remarks about thier stuff. this could be just what your looking for. (although it doesnt actually change timing under boost, I believe you can program that system to change the timing at certain RPMs, so It might be of some help. ) anywho.....

  11. You can try a program called GIMP. it's free and almost has the same features as PS, it just doesnt have the support or community that PS has.
  12. she is living in qingdao trying to get used to the Chinese culture, and trying to pick up up local slang. She is studying international finance and business law (chinese). the problem is..is that tonight I was planning on chatting with her (its 1:30 PM thursday there) tonight, but now my plans are shot and that sucks! anywho, Once more on the tele (hope I dont dial any more unsuspecting Chinese families 我抱歉!) bah humpug. time for bed if this call doesnt work.

  14. cool, Nice to know that somebody remembers it, I almost don't as its been two years since ive driven it! (damn paint jail!!!!!!) I could use some turbo S30 moto-vation eh! I will keep ya posted, as I move into my new apartment on the 13th, And then travel to the big easy to hook up with some girlfriends. EDIT: And whats weird about my turbo? its just a TO4B!?

I cannot Remember his name, but he did finish that car about two years ago.... and then he got rear ended.... and then arrested for something involving the confiscation of all his computer stuff.... and that was that.... apparently it was one of his internet car buddies that posted that "progress" photo to ricecop.com, or atleast thats how the story goes. forgive me if my internet z car forum rumor is in the least bit inaccurate.

  20. its possible it would work better. but In my opinion its better to run it off the manifold anyway in order to get a true boost reading to the turbo. just like Fl327 mentioned, this will take care of the pressure drop you might have across your IC and its related tubing.

If I was seriously thinking about building an ultimate sleeper... my first choice would be an old volvo...but then again, a surprising amount of people know that you can stuff small blocks in them. number two would be an old jag coupe, like a 73 XJ with a Boosted LS1 under the hood. third would be a suzuki sprint with a RWD/Mid engine conversion, or the J-spec/Oz sprint GTi4 AWD conversion. leave it looking completey stock on the outside, and then build the motor for some carzy HP levels.
