  1. I was wondering about that myself. You can see it spike at the end, but that's really weird. EDIT: Talked to him last night about it. There is a spike at the end of the torque curve when it hits the rev limiter. He's not really sure why it does that, but he does get that peak torque number out of it!
  2. I've been eyeing 4dr E36s to replace my wife's '97 Corolla. I'm tempted but I can't play around with my money much right now. Other cars I've considered are Lexus GS300 and IS300 and Infiniti J30 (these things sell for CHEAP). I wonder how easy dropping a LS1 or 2JZ in a J30 would be.
  3. I can tell you he's running a 3.7 LSD R200 rear end and a R154 Supra transmission with what seem to be about 27" tall tires in the back. I'm exhausted right now so I won't go looking it all up right now. My educated stab at his speed/RPM... basically a guess at his tire size, knowing they're 275s. http://www.car-videos.net/tools/speedrpm.asp?Car=Select&Num1=275&Num2=40&Num3=17&AxleRatio=3.7&Ratio1=3.25&Ratio2=1.955&Ratio3=1.31&Ratio4=1.&Ratio5=0.753&Ratio6=&Ratio7=&Redline=7000&Increment=500&B1=Recalculate 1000RPM - 19.9mph 2000RPM - 39.8mph 3000RPM - 59.7mph 4000RPM - 79.6mph 5000RPM - 99.6mph 6000RPM - 119.5mph 7000RPM - 139.4mph
  4. I've seen this type of stuff before but, browsing around SupraForums.com, I came across some more and they just make me laugh. Some of the pictures came out really good. Here are a few from this thread - http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=535752
  5. Sounds fine. The stock oil pressure gages used to rest at almost 0 psi and a red light would come on, so in beginning in some year model (I can't remember which) Nissan fudged the oil pressure reading to read a little higher idle so owners wouldn't freak out at the low reading.... or so the story goes.
  6. Ignorant political statement that doesn't belong here - this could go to the Tool Shed super quick
  7. You don't even want one of these?
  8. Oh ya! I remember that car. I remember reading his whole freaking restoresupermodificationchangeeverything writeup on that. Incredible! Thanks! Time to update that site, though. Old data and... ugh... Angel Fire!? Seriously? What year is this!?
  9. No video. We were at the local bike night and just jumped in the car real quick for a blazing jaunt around the block - we think we hit around 130mph at some point. I had on my leather jacket and in my lap was my helmet, which I should have been wearing. He's a good guy. The circumstances were difficult and I understand that. We had a good talk about it and I would deal with him again in the future, but would be far more careful - he knows that.
  10. Rode in this car last night. He had it dyno tuned to 706RWHP on E85. The sensation of acceleration is totally different than the T67 turbo setup he was using before. Power hits early and hard, revs a little further then takes another big step in power somewhere along the way. However, it doesn't hit as explosively as the T67 and other large turbos most Supra guys seem to run - it just builds very quickly and relatively linearly. Not having one big spike in power like the big singles produce, you have time to adjust to the fairly linear power increase and the broad powerband so, in some ways, it doesn't feel as fast... which is about what I expected. It is also much quieter now than when the big single was on there. As the Woz says: "it is AWESOME." It's fine.
  11. As I said, I would post on here when he paid me back or otherwise made it right. Last night, he approached me and gave me the remaining amount and a ride in his 706rwhp Z31 with the kit pictured above. He just had it dyno tuned on E85 the other day. That sucker freakin' moves!
  12. You did this on a L28ET? I'm guessing this was another engine just by the horsepower number because it is exceedingly rare to hear of a L-series motor (even up to 3.1L) making that power.
  13. I need a job. I did just sell one of my motorcycles yesterday and I could pay for two very nice guns or one with a lot of ammo and some addons.
  14. I love that short. Though it's been out a few weeks already, I'm pretty impressed an old guy like yourself is THAT ontop of things like this.
  15. I might call you a starker if I knew what the poop that is. You are creepy if that's true.
  16. That really is cool! Not all that exciting, but very nice.
  17. Ya, well, front wheel drive motorcycles suck, too!
  18. Sounds like you need to lower your expectations.
  19. SupraForums has the latest and most accurate info on this. His setup is basically a one-off. Just pay attention to the posts from Kean and Chris Johnson and you'll get all the info you need.
  20. It turns out the answer to life was neti pot, for the record. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=147136 I challenged a moderator and, well, I can't tell you what came of that and there's now no record. Big Phil got into Hondas and sold his 280Z BRAAP and RTz got hitched. George Bush joined the forum.
  21. I was irritated again today because of the lack of cool RWD 4dr cars in my price range. A 4dr brother of the 240SX would have been killer: you know something like the Lexus SC300 and the GS300. I'd like a nice, sporty 4dr car that's rear wheel drive and not butthole expensive or really old. To me, expensive = $6k+
  22. In the video, I think I heard someone (Phil or the woman... hard to tell) say Chris thinks it's one of his seals on his turbocharger.
