  1. They look pretty good but it's hard to make them out with the camera flash. get good lighting in that area then take a picture with flash off.
  2. ah, heck... let's bump this thread just for fun. I just remembered it a few minutes ago and check "threads started by ShaggyZ." I think it's the first thread I ever started. Good times...
  3. Sure, it introduces more heat to the engine (and takes "coolness" away from the engine) but the effect is negligible, no doubt. I'd be surprised if that's really even taken into account on production turbocharged vehicles.
  4. I think your next performance modification should be cleaning out your car. Geez!
  5. Pretty cool. I appreciate the idea, but the only benefit seems to be not having to crank... well, and having more room for speakers. Someone else posted nearly a year ago their install of some factory power window installations. True, they came from junkyard cars, basically; but there was a significant weight loss, too. I can't remember who it was but I have it bookmarked at home. I kinda would have expected you to go the weight loss route, Austin.
  6. Thanks for the video, Phil. I second dr hunt's question. I realize this GT35R was probably chosen because it matches the engine better so it will be more efficient, but how much more? By the way, was "2 hours south" Austin? And you didn't call me?!
  7. You've got plenty of room for a muffler in the tranny tunnel. Plus, I'd be surprise if you can't still fit an oval muffler in next to the fuel cell in the stock location.
  8. Are you talking about the glasspack I see on your exhaust? I don't think that'll do much for muffling. It'll be loud for sure! You'd better get some decent video.
  9. Sounds great but too refined for "new" technology or something like that. Refined? I'd like mine to sound as much like an L28ET as possible (to a degree); either way, most of the Z guys put their mufflers at the end of the system and I'd like to try it midway and see what I get. I think you mean "Drewgo," by the way. POI - I have a XR4Ti with the Ford 2.3 turbo four cylinder. All the XR guys put their mufflers at the end, too, and sound just like truck engines. Mine, on the other hand, sounds a whole lot like a cammed EVO - for what it's worth, I've spent a lot of time around modified EVO 8-10's in the past couple years.
  10. Keep in mind you can tune the exhaust note by moving the muffler and resonator around. If/when I finally stick the 2JZ in my 280Z, I'll be putting a single Dynomax 3" muffler in the tranny tunnel and no muffler in the back so it doesn't sound like a Supra. It should be a bit raspier that way, but we'll see...er... hear.
  11. No, I meant "how many quarters or tokens does it cost for a game?"
  12. How much money does it cost for a game? I need to work that into the cost to purchase
  13. My whole desk was vibrating! And you've already got people saying you should have a 3.7L in there instead. Thanks for the video.
  14. And you'll have lost time and money on the blue Z, too.
  15. Well, now I know where I can steal some Z parts.
  16. Two 1JZ's? Weird. They're certainly NOT USDM. I'm thinking a LSx is the way to go for you for the same reason BRAAP said I'm going 2JZ but am having second thoughts and may sell all the parts I've acquired to go with a LS1 + T56.
  17. What's sad is I can do that
  18. The project has been on hold for a number of reasons. Money is the primary. I did, however, get a hold of some Toyota S12 calipers and slotted rotors and installed them not too long ago. I inspected the bearings and regreased them. I was amazed to see they were in such good shape. This car is so low mileage, having sat for 10 years; I believe the bearings are fine as they've been preserved by the grease. Having just blown an oil line on my XR4Ti on the way back from my short vacation with my wife for our first anniversary, I've got to devote MORE time to that car. We drove 90 miles with a smokescreen behind us because I was too stubborn and stupid to pay for a tow truck and figure out a way to get our trailered motorcycles home. The car went through 25 quarts of oil and I gave up 10 miles from home and called on my dad and brother for assistance. The turbo oil supply line sprung a pinhole leak that only worsened and drenched the underside of the car and the trailer and motorcycles.
  19. He also called it an 80's car. It seems to me it was the '90's Z32. I'm interested in the rest of that video.
  20. I can tell you're trying to be an ass because your post is a non sequitur, but you'd be more efficient with a little more effort put into your communication. Did you finish the thought about having removed and installed turbochargers? If you'd done it in an hour, I'd be impressed.
  21. FWIW, I sent him a message on that Z car auction: I'll see if he responds and then decide what to do from there.
  22. I think it's actually been mentioned here before. I think it was in a discussion in the Chevy I6 forums. I think we can now start expecting to see those transmissions pop up once in awhile for sale.
