  1. Nice Spread! I've enjoyed seeing updates on the car myself. Well deserved recognition! Bryan Dat240zg
  2. Just kidding. Contrary to the nations popular belief, NW Arkansas really is up there as far as great areas to live. I'm originally a Charlotte, NC transfer, and have lived here for the past 15 years. Close (1.5 hrs) to Hallet Motor Speedway, basically home to the Branson Z fest, low low crime, great schools (I teach in one of them) and the housing is still very affordable. Price per square foot is in the area of $110-128. Great places to drive, cycle, etc. College town, so good entertainment. And hey, who else can boast that their football team got beaten by USC by what was it....ONLY 70 points? I mean, come on, that's talent! It still hurts.... I'm trying to Mike to come out here...Dsommers...chime in man! Bryan Dat240zg
  3. Mike: Is he a builder and tuner, or are you familiar with any reputable LS1 tuners in the midwest area? Bryan Dat240zg
  4. OH....you meant TWO weekends....there goes that selective comprehension thing again....I gotta get that checked out... Well, I couldn't help trying. Guess it'll have to be finished by the summer. Projects like the Z remind me how much I enjoy teaching....2.5 months of focused Z time (read time off)! Bryan Dat240zg
  5. Mike: Saw that post about being able to complete a well setup LS1 swap in the span of a weekend (with several friends of course). How about you and Pete and few of the other come on down for the Branson Z fest and do the swap over the weekend? We could get sportZ to do a big write up..... Kind of like extreme Z makeover...... Uh...right, back to reality. Bryan
  6. Thank you, Thank you..... The thought of meeting up with dsommers at the Branson Z fest with the turbo was like bringing a knife to a gun fight....a very sharp knife, but still just a knife! BTW, had a few people ask for the link to the parts - I listed them in engine parts, even though there are more than just engine parts.....Here it is! http://classifieds.hybridz.org/showproduct.php?product=1847&sort=1&cat=17&page=1 Johnscars, here I come!!! Bryan
  7. Head was a P-90A. For those of you who contacted me, check your email! Thanks guys. Bryan Dat240zg
  8. Well, I've been debating for a long time now, but I've finally decided that I'm switching from the L28T to an LS1/T56. Bonuses have a funny way of swaying ones opinion. Long and short of it is that if there is anyone who is needing all or any of the L28 Turbo swap parts, I'm posting them in the classifieds section before they go to ebay. Hopefully I'll be able to pay for several of the more expensive parts that I've purchased. Moderators: If this is a no no to post this here, humble apologies. I read through the classifieds sticky and didn't see any mention of mentioning something in the classifieds...uh did that make sense? Thanks all! Have a blessed evening. Bryan Dat240zg
  9. Ken: Just curious. Did you consider the 5 spd auto tranny from the Armada? My Titan shifts just about as smoothly and always seems to be in the correct gear. What's the breaking point for the TT 5 spd? Will it stand up to the added torque of the V8 w/supercharger? I'm watching your swap with a lot of interest. This is pretty high up on my list of wishes.... Bryan Dat240zg
  10. I've had my SE 4x4 crewcab for almost a year now and I love it! Talk about power to burn! I was in the truck hater group for a long time until a job change forced my hand, and now, I can't see how I made it without it... Love my Titan! Bryan
  11. The tire carcass? I've seen a few really brutal accidents, but none of them resulted in a torn tire! Also, this comes on the heels of the largest gathering of Enzos. http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/magazine/3700.asp?id=12695 Bummer.
  12. http://earth.google.com/ I don't know if anyone else has tried this yet, but Man! It's incredible and strange at the same time. Talk about big brother! Now you too can be big brother!!! Saw it on Foxnews. Bryan Dat240zg
  13. AK-Z: The covers were made of some type of clear plastic. Not certain what it was. Mine were actually still sealed in the Nissan factory box and the boxes were filled with a brown tissue paper, so no scratches! The chrome trim rings actually came with a black electrical-type tape covering to protect the chrome as well. Pretty cool. Bryan
  14. Guys: Sorry to say, but the covers were sold a good while back. I was just fortunate enough to get them in a parts car deal and the owner's wife didn't care about making money - total spent on the parts car $300. This time I was able to recoup my "investment" several times over. There were several people that had mentioned using mine to make copies, but it didn't seam like people were serious, so I put 'em on ebay and they got snapped up quick. Sorry! Bryan Dat240zg

Well, I'm now into my 6th month of owning my titan, and let me tell you - this is one sweet V8! Strong as all get out, smooth and sounds incredible when wrung out. As far as aftermarket goes, there are the usual air intake mods and headers, exhaust, etc. The one coolest thing that is currently being finalized is a supercharger by stillen. Last I heard, development numbers were pushing 450-500 horses. Course, the price is around $4k. I've been dreaming about the titan swap ever since I drove my truck of off the lot. Bryan Dat240zg
  16. There is a guy that builds sumps specifically for the 240 tank. I had his email for a while and then lost it. I'll try to find it for everyone. If memory serves me, the cost was $65 and it was a perfect fit. Bryan Dat240zg
  17. Didn't mean to link to the 1000. I agree that there's no need for a 1000 if it's just local commuting and especially if it's a beginner rider. Personally, my wife and I like to ride, and although I'm leaning towards the 650, it's a little underpowered for normal, responsible 2 up riding. I commute a little farther than normal and do a good bit of touring, so the bigger bike may be the way to go. Two big nuggets of wisdom that have already been said were the motorcycle safety class. It helped my wife get over some of her concerns when she actually went through it with me. Taught her some of the basics of control, etc. Also, buy top rated gear! You don't always have to break the bank to do it. There are several websites out there that offer closeout gloves, helmets, armored jackets and pants that were top of the line last year. My gear set up cost me more along the lines of 1200-1300 and I didn't skimp on quality. Anywho....just some late nite thoughts... Bryan Dat240zg
  18. I'm in the same boat - the Titan gets in the mid to low teens and the Z isn't much better. I'm currently trying to find a new V-Strom 650. Low insurance rates (it's considered a dual purpose), V-twin power and good looks. Any owners out there? http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/ProductDisplay.aspx?modelCode=DL1000K5&activeSection=OVERVIEW Bryan Dat240zg
  19. Ernie (and other paint experts): While the motor is out for rehab, I've gotten back to tossing around paint ideas. I recently saw a pic of a Foose modded Chrysler 300 that had a 2 tone paint job. The seam was the top edge of the fender line/body crease and (I believe) that the colors were a charcoal/bronze and a metallic burnt orange. After looking at the Z, I think that the same idea may work - following the top of the headlight buckets/fenders (ala 240z rally cars) and continuing along that same swage line, arcing up over the rear fenders to the tail. I was thinking the charcoal/bronze color on the bottom and black on top. I guess my question is how's it done? How is the seam between the two colors handled? Is there a discernable lip? Does it typically look better to have the darker color on the top or the bottom or is it just personal taste? You guys wouldn't happen to have any pics of well done 2 tone Z's would you? Or is that an oxymoron? Thanks as always - I appreciate it that you guys take time out to answer my Q's. Bryan Dat240zg
  20. I think that mine came in after about a week and a half. Boxed nicely, but darn, no flashy Konig stickers Bryan Dat240zg
  21. No second guessing Alex's character, but, considering that paypal has really strict timelines regarding refunds on purchases, you should probably call them and let them know that there is an issue so that they can get working on it before the time deadline. I believe that it's somewhere around a month. The only reason that I know was that I got burned via ebay/paypal to the tune of $500 from a "fellow hybridz-er" that strung me along about a R200 LSD that I had purchased from him. He assurred me that the diff was being sent over and over again - so I waited and missed the deadline. Paypal said sorry! Live and Learn. Sorry for your problem. Bryan Dat240zg
  22. I believe that it's Datto's Z (the second URL). I'm trying to find his site right now - he has a ton of nice pics. Bryan Dat240zg
  23. Don't know if anyone is aware of this company or has used them, but it looks promising. http://www.frontpanelexpress.com/home/index.htm You download their proprietary software to design your panel and then shoot the design to them where they fab/CNC it for you and get it back to you! I'm talking with them to design a panel for my turbo timer, boost controller and stereo equip that will fit in the glove box (just to keep the stuff from prying eyes). Any thoughts? Bryan Dat240zg
  24. Even better, take a look at http://www.zcarcreations.com, they also sell their goods on ebay. They have complete bolt kits for the Z and the quality is extremely high! I purchased the engine set for my turbo swap as everything was in a box and I had no clue what went with what. All of their material comes bagged, with the proper washers and is labeled. Can't even imagine how much time and frustration that saved me. Just a thought..... Bryan Dat240zg
  25. I'm sure that I'm not the only one, but man! I love my Titan! Talk about a strong motor. Mine is an SE 4x4 CC but will still pull like no tomorrow and sounds incredible to. I think that my wife has finally given up any hopes of me ever growing up - I'm always looking for a place to wind it out a bit just to hear it! Good thing I married an understanding woman. Uh...so I guess that I like the idea of a swap Bryan Dat240zg
