  1. I'd say the first one is not true: We've found that, if you tune for both, E85 makes about 30% more power than race gas. This assumes your fuel system is big enough to handle the additional volume.
  2. "Not synced" means you're not getting an RPM. If you don't have a Stim, you can use an oscilloscope to follow the signal from the distributor to TachSelect to TSEL and see where you're losing the signal.
  3. For an RPM spike while starting on MS1, try increasing the Hold Ignition value a little.
  4. Do you have a data log? If not, try making one and pressing the space bar when the engine misses. I can look at the log and see if anything's amiss at that point.
  5. Can the MegaSquirt get RPM on a Stim? Are you using the stock trigger disc, or our replacement?
  6. That is fairly common, but a (non plug and play) MegaSquirt installation is going to take as much time to install as a comparable ECU from another vendor - more if you happen to get a MegaSquirt set up with a differnet hardware configuration than the car needs, and have to open up the box and change things. I've seen customers who somehow think that because their MegaSquirt cost 1/3 of the price of a Haltech, that the installation should also cost 1/3 of the price. It doesn't work that way. I agree that it's a fair price, just not an easy crowd to market to sometimes.
  7. Sounds like your tune is too lean, as unplugging the MAP line will make it go richer.
  8. If it wanders around at random, yes. If it retards a few degrees as RPM goes up, adjust the latency number under Advanced -> Advanced Code Options. (If it's way off, switch Spark Output Inverted to Yes, and reset your trigger angle.)
  9. Or better yet, the complete MSQ and a data log of the misfire issue.
  10. That setting is not there in MS1, however.
  11. Could you post a data log of the starting problem and a copy of your MSQ?
  12. That would be MS1/Extra 029y4, which doesn't have a trigger wizard.
  13. Where is the MegaSquirt grounded? Are you using low or high impedance injectors?
  14. What firmware are you running? The available settings are determined by the ECU firmware, not the TunerStudio version.
  15. The fuel pump is clicking because you're losing the RPM signal. Can you get a tooth log and capture the loss of sync?
  16. Which relay is clicking? Do you have a data log of trying to run?
  17. That should be fine. With Extra code, which you seem to be running, you do not need to change the INI file. Just set the dwell to fixed duty, 50%. Our trigger disc will work fine with a single coil and give more accuracy than the MS2 supports with the stock distributor.
  18. How is your MegaSquirt currently set up for spark output? It should be OK to control timing through the MSD box, but in some cases may need hardware mods.
  19. Yes, at this point, I'd contact Innovate myself.
  20. If it's still showing overheated, be sure the sensor is at least 18" downstream of the turbo.
  21. Do you have any larger pictures of the board? Those are a bit tricky for me to interpret.
  22. I've posted the schematic a few posts up.
  23. You can go as high as 6.8 ms dwell without overheating the BIP373. (Not sure if that much dwell will overheat the Blaster 2 coil, or if you can get that much at high RPM - you may want to try incrementally increasing it until the misfires go away.)
  24. Yes, the voltage looks OK. Got any specs on your coil?
  25. We've posted a detailed description of this job on the site. This is an entry level sales and support job, mostly over email and forums, but occasionally by phone. No professional racing or EFI experience is required, but we'd want applicants to at least have some amateur experience with standalone engine management installation and be into motorsports. We're in the northeast Atlanta area, and you will need to be here on-site (sorry, no teleworking from another state).
