For the guys with the Maggies, what heat exchanger?
texis30O replied to rags's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
My heat exchanger is in fact a GTO one retro'd for now. I will more than likely do a custom unit sooner than later. -
Purchased my first LS engine!

243 heads. No work done on them for now. I have a Lingenfelter cam with the Hawk's 3rd gen engine mounts. I did that because they have a bad ass set of 304SS longtubes that go with the kit. They mount the motor low and I can fit under my stock hood. Check out my build thread for pictures. I have some videos as well. Once I get used to the car I will more than likely start to do some head work, smaller pulley Hawk's is located in Easley, SC. I stopped by the shop and they seemed like a good group of guys. Very open and honest. -
Who the F.#.#.k. is that ? I haven't heard of him.....lol. Seems like we are thick as thieves with nasty Zs here in town..... Everything is bigger, I mean better in Texas

Let me see what I have. I know I am going with a bigger one than the one I have because I plan on being on a track and I have been told that this one will not hold up. -

I put a LS2 in my car with a 1.9 Maggie. it was out of a 09 Denali, changed the accessories, and heads, it had 90k on the clock. I am going to rock it till something goes wrong then I will have to rethink the game plan....I like my set up. 8lbs of boost I am at 624hp at the wheels with 58x tq....... I am sure you will be way above that as are a few others on here.. Talk to thezguy ( Mike) he has a TT set up. -
270+ miles on mine. No issues. I am just now starting to push it a little. Been over 125 on the fwy (4th gear). I will start stacking up the miles next week...... I think some event or something is happening

lol. I will call you. The problem is the mounting point alignment is different from vendor to vendor. Some use the original placement of the mounting tabs and others use a tab location that is different. I will bring the car to "you" on Thursday, can you bring them with you?

I emailed him, he didn't have much to say. He said the cylinders were clean, I almost spit on my monitor when I read that. He gave me no cam specs, he also said the box was destroyed and that there was not a label or any other information he could give me....

I read that thread, and they seemed to fall dead in the water. I thought I remembered reading through a thread where a guy was making them, the above thread is based on trim trim rings and the different types of covers OEM vs. aftermarket. I need to speak to who is making them to have a set made without the holes so I can be the one to put them in because my alignment in my buckets seems to be different than what I have purchased the last 2 times. ...

I am getting lost with in the search function looking for who was reproducing the headlight covers ..... I am having issues with buying replacement sets and the holes don't match up.

I have been to their shop a few times. I went and visited with them when I was in town working in Hampton Beach just down the road. Seemed like a good crew. Mother and sons shop I believe. They had some good stuff in there and seemed reasonable to deal with.

Sent the asshat a email. We will see what schenannagens he comes up with.

I have the car back. I am going through some things that I need to tie up before TX2K15 events. I am going to the events but have not signed up to compete. I will be out at night checking out things from spot to spot. If given the chance for some races I will most likely take them but I am not going to actively seek them out. I played with a Mustang and a Camaro SS and a Challenger on my way home yesterday. I let out of it at 125 ( per the Speedhut GPS speedo) and was in 5th, I didn't even see a shift light come on in the car. I don't want to push it too much as I believe I am still in the break in period for the clutch. The car was supposed to go to my plasti -dip guy today but the rain kept me from getting it to him. I have put new rubber gaskets on all the sidemarkers, and pedals in the car. Here are some pics of the Kirkey seat which is on factory Datsun sliders, the roll cage, and the hood on the car. The car will be painted to match the hood for a little bit while I save up for the next stage which will be the fiberglass getting reworked on the flares and front airdamn. I have LED projector headlights, LED tail lights and other LED lighting to install on the car as they are all set to arrive in the next week or so. The car got picked to be int he Rice Bowl here in Houston so I will be showing the car there on the first weekend of April. -
I like the Carbon advantages but have always shyed away from the high gloss look. If you could produce the part and do a matte finish I would be interested..... just sayin.
-
Are there plans to produce these parts in a dry carbon? I just can't get over the high gloss look for interior pieces. Your work is second to none.

very wide 17x14 wheels
texis30O replied to AZGhost623's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I am thinking of doing some 1 off flares for my set up but have been looking at lots of cars with flares. I only have a 11.5 rear wheel with a 315 tire currently but I am thinking of going with a 345.... I am very interested to see how this turns out. Good work.
