  1. there is a shop in LA (dont know if they are still in business) that would do a red top SR20 into a 240SX in 6 hours for $3K. and it was like 3500 for a black top.
  2. my camera still hasn't come home, but it was done.
  3. Just got back from the west coast nationals a little while ago and i have to say i was blown away by this. it was a 240Z with a complete FWD VQ35 and 6-spd from a maxima mounted in the rear. the guage cluster, steering wheel, and console and dash were all swapped as well. it looked pretty sick, when my camera comes back (left in the car), ill post some pics.
  4. I'm trying to get my project up and on the road finally but thanks to the govinator i need to smog it. I need to see if anyone on here has a picture of the stock 1976-ish N42 intanke manifold for a FEDERAL emissions car. Everyone in the world can give me the california but i need the federal. If anyone on here canhelp me out I would appreciate it, otherwise im stuck until the MSA show on Sunday. And even there it's hard to find a federal car. Thanks in advance for the help. steve

  7. when my lazy self finally puts my motor back in, initial start up/smog inspection, and turbo will be on my N42 head from the original engine with a 2mm head gasket. then when funds are available i have a p90 that i will throw on.
  8. ill take an earthquake anyday over tornados and hurricanes.
  9. my daily is an '02 nissan maxima 6-spd. my other toy is a '94 camaro z/28 6-spd.
  10. what is so great about this Rich guy? what has he done before or done in any way to advance the racing world?
  11. plus there is a huge difference in what you paid for a resto car vs. what it's stated value is. either way california gets their cut and if they dont they screw you over until they do.
  12. which really pisses me off cause mine is a 76.
  13. yes it is as it was not the original motor for the car. to have one swapped legally you must swap the entire stock motor with all applicable smog equipment and "check engine" light. then it must be certified by a state referee.
  14. just giving you a hard time and yes it's in the middle of nowhere.
  15. its PHELAN not PHALEN. we pronounce it (Fee-lan). anyone who does it the other way sucks.
  16. bitchin little engine. i had one that ran 330k with no internal repairs or any major external repairs. went through 2 alternators and a water pump.
  17. doing that to a twin turbo is disgraceful. at least find an NA to hack apart.
  18. he is buying the enginies on "truckload" and does receive special discounts because of it and that is how he pass along the savings. bigger dealers (like the one i work at) do the samething.
  19. ill be there for sure, but z-less again for the 4th yearin a row
  20. i know a BBC is much larger than an SBC. it will bolt to a 700R4 but i dont recommend it.
  21. look for a 5.3L short block and use the LS6 or late LS1 intake and throttle body and and LS1 or LS6 heads. the LS6 cam works in the 5.3 as well.
