  1. So I'm more than half way done on my 74 260z and I had just finished the wiring for my megasquirt harness. I figured I would just bump it over to see if I even get a signal (I was temperamental that I wouldn't have one because I used a headphone jack to join it to the harness for quick removal later if need be) and the mother started up like a half turn on the starter. Super excited now! It's my na-t conversion, and lots of stiff is still in mock up but it's coming together fast. I'll post some pics later.
  2. Ok, got a couple questions. First question is did you really run all the sensors with white wires? If so how are people supposed to figure out what wire is what? Multimeter? Also, what is the copper tubing coming out from where the heater core is supposed to be? Intriguing!
  3. Hello all, Looking to get a bracket to mount a vr sensor to my l28. I work in a machine shop so if someone could post some dimentions up at least I could have someone in the shop make it for me! Thanks in advance.
  4. Mackin Gewalt Spoke ones for shore dood!
  5. Same route as wasted spark but you have to configure more inputs and outputs but make sure you leave one for cam input as well, using the new diy wheel of course.
  6. Sorry, but you can't build the ecu for one style of dizzy and then just try to wire up another without adding that dizzys style of circuit. The vr circuit has to have a conditioning circuit because it puts out a variable a/c voltage, where as the turbo dizzy (which is not a hall effect by the way) gets it's power from a 12 volt source and puts out ( I believe) a 5 volt signal like most other automotive sensors.
  7. I can certainly understand your frustration. You should step back, take a deep breath and pull the harness out for inspection. Something sounds intermittent and needs to be fixed. If it looks tampered it is. Try to fix/test/cleanup the whole harness then try again. If you have spark then fuel and vice versa then you are close!!! Just to play around you could spray carb cleaner in the intake if you are getting spark. It should fire up! Good luck!
  8. Seems like you are well on the right track. Since you are running wasted spark, pair the coils 1 and 6, 2 and 5, 3 and 4. Im pretty sure that is the correct sequence.
  9. Why are you trying to add the hei when you don't have the stock setup working correctly. Do you have the stock zxt ignitor? what I would do first is a conductivity test with the four wires at the dizzy plug and the plug to the ecu. If those are good you can rule out faulty wiring to in the harness. Edit: I'm confused, first you say you don't have spark and do have fuel, now it's the other way? What's going on?
  10. I just ordered some an style banjo Fittings and did it that way. I'm using push loc though.
  11. Ok, lets see, If I was going to wire this type of coil up through the realay, it would be the fuel pump relay just to recieve 12v keyed ignition. Then the others would be chassis ground, megasquirt ground (low reference) and ignition command (wire megasquirt uses to fire the coil) Im assuming you are using full sequential ignition and the goils are gm based with internal ignitors. If im wrong though, please let me know, I just briefly researched this. I personally plan on using 3 bips for wasted spark because im cheap but ill eventually go this route myself. Good luck.
  12. I dont know where you scored that deal but good for you.
  13. Ross machine racing is where i got the stuff to make my rail. I also bought the special drill bit for 14mm oring injectors. Good tool to have even though it was $155.00
  14. Low battery voltage can cause high amp draw and cause one of the injector fuses to pop. I would try charging the battery up and seeing if that helps. If not then something is telling your injector bank to stay open causing fuse to pop. maybe incorrect settings. I would also recheck your injector pwm settings. Sounds wierd that only one is doing it though. You sound like a smart guy though, you will figure it out. good luck.
  15. As Akeboshi said, you didn't do your research. If I were you, I would run the turbo dizzy. What do you mean you have no way to hook it up? I would cut the plug off the dizzy and wire it up. You could also run fuel only as you suggested. Don't lock it out though as it will cut all your power out. I would also retard the dizzy a few degrees if running fuel only until you get your afrs dialed in as excessive advance without the proper fuel would be bad for your engine. Good luck and do your research. Megasquirt can be a rewarding route but comes with a steep learning curve. It's definitely more for the tweaker crowd.
  16. I know this discussion is alittle old but I run flattops with an n42 head on Cali 91 and have had no problems. It was with megasquirt and a comp cams 292s grind.
  17. Glad you got it fixed. I was gonna say it sounds like improperly set dwell too low. cool beans desu.
  18. OK, so I have the new pistons, I have a few questions, how do I check for rod straightness, and how do i press the old pistons ou without damaging the piston or bending the rod?
  19. The s13 TPS is actually both. The pigtail that hangs off of it is what you need to hook up. The red is 12v, white is your signal and black is obviously the ground. Make sure to ground it at pin 19 on the harness. I thought the same thing as well. I got mine from autozone for 30 bucks, from an automatic car.
  20. The 240sx swap involves using a z bellhousing vs the 300zx having to machine the bellhousing. Based on this info im assuming you cant just swap the bellhousing from the z to the 300zx like you can on the 240sx. Austin 240hoke still sells adapters for the 300zx swap btw.
  21. Sorry about the othet post. I just felt like being a smart a$$. There is another post written by garrett, I believe, and it goes into detail about takin the bellhousing off and reinstalling it. Very good. Ill look it up later.

  23. Im sorry man but you have not read the megamanual enough. It is definitely in there. There is also a video on DiyAutoTune.com that goes through setting up a MS2 for a fuel only application that touches on the subject. I believe its on their nova install article. Dont forget the extra manual too. You are probably not running extra code but the extra manual in my opinion has more of the "meaty info". Good luck.
  24. Up by clairemont mesa then. You should drop by the z club meeting. Its a bunch of old guys but I still like it. The next meeting is at 7pm on Tuesday. Fisrt Tuesday of every month.
