  1. Pretty sure the C6's breathe thru the front. No openings in the undertray or in front of the air dam.
  2. I was pitted beside a guy driving a newish vette at the track last week. The bottom of the nose looked a lot like the ford piece, a big plastic undertray, generally flat, with a roughly 2" air dam mounted back about the rad support, probably 2 feet past the front. I got a good look helping him load it on his trailer, I suspect it's mostly there to avoid curbs and wheelstops. jt
  3. Which way gave better times, passenger or no passenger?
  4. High maintenance, with a lot of varying requirements, some of them seemingly at random. Also, weight creep is often an issue. jt
  5. Because that's exactly what I've been thinking about. Somewhere between 1.5 -2 inches engine/trans/driver is doable. I've concluded you would only have to cut up the left side of the tunnel, you could leave the right and keep workable driveline angles. I'm struggling with the seat and belt mounts. I think the pedals would be ok, not sure about the wheel. But, still probably not going to get to 50/50, if you run equal offset wheels. jt
  6. Well, if you move the engine and trans then that gives some room to move that lump behind the wheel!!!!!!!!!! jt
  7. Seems like the economic downturn took S&S out of business a couple of years ago, IIRC. jt
  8. Nice project. Thanks for sharing the results. Like the others, I'd love to see some pics. I agree with 74 5.0, it would be interesting to see how much of the flex is in the cab and how much is in the front clip. jt
  9. Wow. That was a good looking vid......right up to the failure. jt
  10. I can't comment on the plastic media since I haven't used it. So far as the sand, i think your plan is workable. You need to pay a lot of attention to sealing up the cabin of the car. Sand will get everywhere, I mean everywhere. You need good eye protection, some type that seals to your face with a gasket. Moto x googles worked for me. You may want some type of air supply. This can be as simple as a vacuum cleaner. Prepare to be filthy. Sand in your hair, your ears, the crack of your a**, everywhere. However, the results are very nice. jt
  11. It's good to have stuff like that sitting around. jt
  12. You've got to be kidding..... http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/58824-how-many-sbc-v8-guys-are-using-manual-trannies/?view=findpost&p=538286&hl=wct5 http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/57939-jtr-kit-sbc-and-wct5-mockup-in-chassis-pics-wquestions/?hl=wct5 http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/31050-t5-tranny/?view=findpost&p=244874&hl=wct5 If you can't find that info you're not going to make it thru a v8 swap anyway. Stick to the yamaHon whatever. jt
  13. Words of wisdom. If you can find what you want, this is the way to go. There is a huge benefit to buying a running package versus a pile of parts.
  14. Looks like a good bit of wear on the spider gear teeth. Break on the launch? jt
  15. Dan, that is beautiful work. Exhaust art. Did you do the collectors? john
  16. Video looks great, glad you've got it to the track. I'd like to come to LRP sometime, looks like a cool track. jt
  17. I would unhook the rear bar and try that first. Cheap and easy. Don't think about less camber front, work on getting more for the rear. Less front may improve the balance, but ultimately makes you slower. If the LCA's are level with the car sitting still, they may be going negative when the car rolls in a corner.
  18. Better tires will make you faster. They may or may not improve the balance. More camber F & R, 2.5 to 3.0 if you can get it. Toe the rear in about 1/8". Make sure your LCA's aren't going negative, sometimes that happens with a lowered car. Consider a smaller rear bar, or maybe none at all. When is the car loose? Entry, steady state, or off? jt
  19. I've always been impressed with the simplicity of the turbo tom systems, and how well they work. Great engineering. jt
  20. I've used a Tilton for years with no issues. It looks a lot like the hitachi above. The nose isn't supported, but the shaft is the same size as the pinion and it's worked great. jt
  21. 15K ?!?!?!?!?!? Icard will give you two grand for it. He and I will sit around, look at it, and talk about the good old days. It's not like we don't have any other cars sitting around. jt
  22. I'll come help and throw some money in the pot. May or may not bring a car. john
