  1. If you are going to do it I would go at least 75, or 100. I have nitrous on my 800cc twin cylinder snowmobile, and have a 50 shot which puts me at 200+hp. It is great fun, but in a car, 30 or 50 wouldn't be worth the time or money spent IMO.
  2. Don't know about SDI, but you can get the VG's here: http://www.vortekz.com/ Fairly inexpensive as well. Has anyone painted them to match the car color yet?
  3. Looks great! Just need some wider wheels/tires, and a fresh coat of paint. I still can't believe a BBC fits so nicely in there. I love it!
  4. Does your boost guage show you making boost? Can you feel the boost come on?
  5. I once had a Torquer II, and replaced it with a Victor JR (this was on a 350) and the Victor JR had what felt to be quite a bit more power, especially in the upper revs. The only problem is whether you have room under the hood or not since the Victor is a bit taller.
  6. so would a T56 bolt up to a 6.0 out of a 3/4 ton truck, as well as say, the Corvette ECM?
  7. Thanks guys. Wow! At $500+ per wheel, I think I won't be getting any anytime soon. Gonna have to go with something a bit cheaper till I get done with my Z, Maybe Rota RB's in a 16x8 for a while (if they ever come out) then a nice tire/wheel swap with some of these rims.
  8. I really like these wheels, and would like to know what they are. I have seen them on several Z cars, and can't find any info on them. I have searched like crazy on here and elsewhere, but without a name I come up short. BTW I love this car! Anyone know who it belongs to?
  9. The guy is a jack@ss. I lived next door to his mother for a little less than 2 years, and it was 2 years too long. He served some time for burglary, and moved back with his mom after he got out, and still lives there, and is about 45 or so years old. Anyway before our scuffle I talked to him about how he painted his camaro, and he told me he went and bought the paint stuff at one of the local auto paint stores, which carry Dupont, Nason, and some other brands. I speculate it was Nason since the other brands would be more expensive, and this guy is cheap if he is buying it. Anyway they painted it in a buddys garage. Anyway while I was living there I had several things stolen. My Camaro window was broken, and all the stereo equipment and CD's taken. My ex-wife said that she noticed my speaker box 10" subs with Amp in an enclosure that I made in his trunk one day. She said I know it is yours unless he made one exactly like it, and even mounted the amp upside down in the same location. Well long story short, I confronted him, and he said he bought it from a buddy that made it, and his buddy backed up his story. I didn't have any pictures of it, and didn't hold on to the reciepts for any of the stuff. About another month after this my brand new (at the time) 1996 CR250 motocross bike was stolen out of the back of my truck while I was working 12 hour graveyards. I am sure he was involved, the police checked him out, and even told me that they though he was involved, but had no evidence, no fingerprints, or anything to go off. Sorry for all this info, but I would rather not talk to him, as I hope he doesn't find out where I live now, or what I drive.
  10. Depends on the paint. An old neighbot of mine painted his 68 Camaro with some flat black single stage enamel about 10 years ago, and it still looks the same as when he sprayed it, dull black. He doesn't have a garage, so it is out in the elements year round.
  11. Can't wait to see the video! I will be doing a similar setup in my 260Z. HY35, megasquirt, etc.
  12. Yea black primer (any primer) + weather = bad idea. If you want the flat black look, just have it painted with a flat black single stage paint, or add a flattener to the clear in a 2 stage system.
  13. Oh, and another thing, make sure you soak the sandpaper in water untill it is soft.(like 15 minutes or so) I always use 3M sandpaper. I have tried the cheaper paper, but it isn't as good, and can leave scratches, and doesn't last as long.
  14. After the wet sand, buff with a wool pad and the coarser compound, then after change to a foam pad with finer compound, then finish off with swirl mark remover compound and a foam pad.
  15. I am interested as well in the L series manifold, or at least a flange that I can work off of.
  16. Which wastegates did you folks buy? I was looking at their site, and they have a few of the 60mm ones with the purple covers, and they range from $99 to $159 to $325. They all look about the same to me, and look to include the same things. Anyone know the difference?
  17. Here is a link to a "pregnant oven" type add on to an old oven. Look about 3/4 down the page. http://web.archive.org/web/20020214081002/www.buckeyetriumphs.org/technical/PowderCoating/powder_coating_equipment.htm
  18. You tap the 1" all thread with a 12 X 1.25mm tap, which you then screw onto the pin. No metric all thread needed.
  19. I am going to be puting a L28ET into my early 260Z, and Will probably put a Holset HY35 into it as it seems the easiest to adapt of the Holsets around. My question is when did Dodge start puting the ones with the 90 on the compressor outlet? I am guessing 2003+, is this correct? I need to start looking for one, and this would simplify things a bit. Also have any of you used the ones without the 90, and what did you do to plumb it up?
  20. Thanks, I think I will be going with this wastegate on my s30 L28ET swap with a Holset hy35W. I love the sound of the Greddy type RS BOV, how do these sound in comparison? I know I like the price of the SSAC alot better!
  21. Anyone have any real miles on these wastegates, or luck running a boost controler with it?
  22. I would tend to think that it would be OK. Especially since the material removed is from the center of the wheel, and shouldn't cause any weird ballance problems, like it would if it was further out on the wheel. I would check with a machine shop though, I am sure they wouldn't charge too much just to mill out a little from the center. That IMO would be the way to go.
  23. Have you decided exactly how you will do the front yet?
