  1. I love your car! I will be painting mine 06+ Mitsubishi orange sunset pearlesent that is on the new eclipses. It looks alot like that color. What color is that exactly?
  2. Just get a fiberglass one from MSA, and paint it whatever color you want.
  3. That ought to desinigrate some tires! How big is that turbo? GT40+??
  4. Awesome! Can't wait to see the vids. That thing looks like it is doing 200mph sitting there!
  5. Congrats! I look forward to the burnout video.
  6. Yes, on plastic, I wouldn't go any more coarse that 220 grit, and don't use a DA on them, you will not get very even sanding, and probably end up with flat spots. Smooth them with the 220, or 320 grit, all by hand. Then hit it with some SEM flexible primer in a rattle can, then some SEM gloss black.
  7. Yes, that is what I meant. I will probably do this since I don't want to have to make 2 complete exhaust systems. I will not have any smog stuff on, and no cat. But where the cat would be is where I would step up from the smaller size to the 3". Since I will have to make a custom downpipe from the turbo, that should be all I have left to do once the turbo motor goes in. Well, at least as far as the exhaust goes.
  8. What do you guys think of a 2.25, or 2.5 inch pipe off the manifold, and then step up to 3" about where my downpipe for the turbo engine would end? This way I wouldn't have to redo the entire exhaust with the new engine. It would probably be between 12-18 inches long. Would this be enough to keep a little low end torque with the L26?
  9. Thanks for the replies guys. I agree, and don't want to spend too much on this motor, but I will probably have to drive the car with this engine for a couple of years. I just want all the umph, I can extract from the current one so I have something fun to drive in the meantime.
  10. Hi all, I have an early 260Z, and will eventually build up an all out turbo L28ET to drop in. For the time being, since the rest of the car needs attention, I will be spending more money there. I will freshen up the L26 with flat top pistons, port match the head, and keep the stock 260 cam, rods, crank etc. The car came with dual Weber DGV's, but may snag some triples. My question is, have any of you actually gained much over the stock manifold with headers? Also would a 3" exhaust kill any low end power? I don't really want to redo the entire exhaust when I go turbo, but will if need be. Keep in mind I will probably drive it this way for a couple of years while I build, and collect all the parts for my all out turbo motor.
  11. Excellent work on the car, and the videos! Keep up the good work!
  12. If it is just the gasket, Permatex Ultra Copper high temp silicone should do the job. You will have to remove the manifold though so you can get good coverage.
  13. On an exhaust manifold, Hi temp silicone will not hold up! Just have someone weld it. If the crack is easilly accesible, it would be quick and easy, otherwise you would have to remove it.
  14. I would look hard at whatever system you think you may want. The fogger style ar the best IMO. They inject nitrous, and fuel in the same nozzle which atomizes the fuel better than other methods. I will put a NOS sprotsman fogger on my Z with a set of fogger nozzles in each runner. One cool thing I may, or may not do is get a led purge system, and plum it into the cowl area. I can just see myself teasing one of those ricer kids that pull up next to me and rev their stock engine with an aftermarket muffler. PSSSST, PSSSST, with a blue glowing cloud coming from my cowl vent, and them thinking.... Oh, w,w,w,what the......
  15. Great news. I'm sure you are stoked! I know I would be. Now, lets see some pics.
  16. How about a splitter that flows around the edge of your air dam to meet up with those? That would look good, but not sure how it would affect anything.
  17. Did you paint the other side to match?
  18. I don't see why not, as long as you have the required fuel pressure at the fuel solenoid.
  19. I like those wheels. Would the 20mm offset still require spacers even if coilovers are used? That would be awesome if they fit the stock fenders and all without spacers. Due to the angle of the strut towers I would think that with 17's or 18's you could get away with more offset than with smaller wheels. Anyone know?
  20. The fogger style are superior to the other styles out there in my opinion, as they inject nitrous, and fuel through the same nozzle, which helps in atomization. Also more tuneability just by changing fuel, and nitrous jets in the nozzles. If I ever get my Z running, I will eventually put a NOS sportsman fogger kit on, and have a nozzle in each runner. It comes in a kit for a V8, but I'll just have some spare parts. I will probably go with 20-25hp per hole so 120-150 shot.
  21. Also, you should figure out how much boost you want to run before you get set on stock springs, especially if they are old truck springs. The more boost, the stiffer the spring. But, I am sure you allready knew that.
