This thread has had a healthy amount of responses with regard to the body line, but does anyone else think the removal of the drip rails is a step in the wrong direction? i read the "water in the lap" comment, but does no one else think that the very first pic of the orange z look kinda naked without it? just a thought. the chrome drip rails are one of my favorite parts of the car.....obviously.

must be one of those new downhill 1/4 mile tracks. Being a superior driver, I was asked by a friend to make a couple passes in my friend's C6ZO6 and ran about .3 seconds faster......a 12.4!!!!! then.....a 12.3!!!!! then, a 10.9!!!!!!!!!!......ok, so the last one was bullsh*t, but here in memphis the track makes no change in elevation. fun thread to watch and I normally wouldn't butt into an argument, but i couldn't help it on this one since i just drove two months ago.

have you tried a spray test? just get brake cleaner and spray it in the area you think the sound is coming from and wait for the idle to change, then you'll know if it's a vacuum/intake leak. just a thought........ -
i've got a bunch of parts i bought with 2 shells, and i think i may have one of these transmissions. is there any distinguishing factor in the body/casting of it? does it use the same driveshaft?

i've got a couple of the old oval air cleaner elements, a couple sets of z cntercaps (still have to figure out what they belong to, said overrider bar, a couple hood emblems, a stereo install kit for oem AM/FM for '77-78 (amazing how pretty our faceplates USED to be), a couple of windshield rubber seals, need to dig through the piles o find out what else. also have an entire l24. already sold the mikunis off of it, but i'm going to check the rods to see if they're dimpled or pimpled, if they're 9mm i'll be selling them for whoever wants to build a stroker. the E31 head is toast so that sucks. I've got a P30 crank, just chilling in my storage unit that i got with the deal. (what is the P30 crank out of by the way?) also have a 1993 240sx swapped with and RB20DET that i'd like to sell within the next 2 months. i also have a fairly clean 260z body (09/74 i beliver)with a bad motor that i'd be willing to sell. it is missing a hood and pass. fender, but if it sells for enought i can throw a fender and hood on there. still has full interior, minimal rust. chilling under a carport for the last 4 years. also have a 76 with SU carbs on it and 6-1 header to 2.5 inch exhaust (sounds really good) with a set of wheels on it that i've never seen before. everyone compliments the wheels! they are kinda like turbines, but they're orange except for the machined faces, and get this......a machined lip. yeah you never see turbines with a lip. i'll post some pics of them when i can. the body of this car is too discouraging for me. frame rails are great, but floorpans near the rear mounting position of the seat look terrible. spare tire well almost nonexistent. and some stupid yutz put a sunroof in it and one piece is missing, so it needs to be replaced or deleted. also i have doors for a '77-'78, grey in color, black door panels are flawless as is the glass and locking mech's. have a 5 spd that needs rebuilt, free to he who would pay shipping. anyways i'll look around for all the NOS stuff and get it listed on here. thank for the interest guys.

I recently purchased two cars, on running and one a shell. with it came a slew of NOS parts. I know whether most of the parts are worth putting on ebay, but there's one item i've never seen or heard of. maybe i'm just not paying attention. the rear bumper overrider bar can be seen on quite a few 240z's, but i've got one for a late 260-280 rear bumper bar. never seen one so i need to know if it's just unwanted, or if it's a uncommon item. please and thank you for any help.

my guess is it'll get whored out like the srt-4 and be equally unimpressive. i think the wow factor is simply the fact that the US now has a turbo FR car available. doesn't even have to be that impressive. gotta break ground somewhere. now i wonder which Formula D driver is gonne drive one for the endorsement money. always funny to watch the "car commercial" that formula d has become.

glad someone else brought that up. yeah it took a lot of work, but why only do 99% of the work and skimp on the 1% kinda stuff like lining up body panels.

any way we could get pic of the car from the side as it sits with the wheels bearing the weight of the car? just kinda wanna know how the the wheel gap looks on these, i have a similar size set of wheels on my s13 and if they look good i'm gonna 5lug the s30 and slap 'em on. please and thanks! -

duno about milage in a z............yet, but my S13 hatch has an RB20DET and with the stock regulator it only got 20 mpg on the highway. after running a nismo adjustable fpr and setting it at 36psi, i get a whopping 31. best $80 you can spend with an RB. keep in mind i'm using a z32 MAF which richened it up a little, but the adj fpr more than made up for it.

I've gone through my harness a couple times to check for continuity in the efi system to make sure my efi relay is actually bad since they run about a hundred bucks at autozone. having conclusive evidence that it's trashed i'm left with having to purchase one, and i got the bright idea to check on here to see if someone has one they're not using. ther's no shorage of carb converts that still have underdash relay remnants. my carbed 280 would have one if i didn't get the bright idea of "cleaning things up" underneath. really wish i'd kept the thing, but hindsight's 20/20 and burning my eyes. please and thank you for anyone who is willing to give/sell me one. ryan '76 su'ed '76 soon to be turbo

yeah, i guess i do need to learn to weld better. gonna try to do my own exhaust so that should be some decent practice.
