  1. Success! on the first test I opened up the angle 10 degrees. Throttle response was smoother. Went another 5 degrees and that was just right. I shortened the link that's parallel to the firewall and got my full throttle back. Did last nights and this mornings commute and it was a huge improvement. I can actually lug through a turn now without lurching. Thanks Ron Derek
  2. Thanks Ron. Looks like a workable idea. I'll cut a couple test ones out of corian to get a feel for it. I'll update with results. Thanks Derek
  3. Well I've got about a year of daily driving on this rig and I'm ready to fix something that's been bugging me for a while. Getting it of the line smoothly. The throttle is just too touchy at the bottom end. Here's a shot of what I'm currently using I can't seem to come up with a good way to make it progressive without going to an eccentric and cable arangement. Anyone have any ideas on a progressive setup that uses the rod configuration I have? Thanks Derek

  5. My arms got tired just watching it! WOW Great vid. Derek
  6. Thanks for the order. Glad you like them. Derek
  7. Hi Carl This may sound a bit crude but I just built a porch on my house and used a foam sandwich material for the roof panels. It's 3" thick foam with 2 sheets of powdercoated aluminum bonded to them. They come in 4' wide and 2' wide and have an interlocking edge. The stuff is really tough and very reasonably priced. You order it cut to length. It's the same stuff they make walk in cooler with. This would be good for the sides but not the floor. Just a thought. Derek
  8. It looks to me like the front manifold is bent outward. Is the level sitting flat against the back two? If that's the case I would adjust the casting a bit. If you go that path I can give you a few pointers about working with cast aluminum. Derek

Looks good. Is there a "view new content" link? That would help. Jeff if you scroll down to the bottom of the browser on the left side is a drop down. Switch it to lo-fi and try that. Derek
  10. That has to be it. I wondered why the asbestos hype but that makes sense. You see. Proof that all of the collective wisdom is right here on HybridZ. You get a cookie Derek
  11. I know some of you guys buy from Mcmaster. I got my new catolog in the mail today. They're pretty tough to get so there used to be a market on ebay for them. I thought I would see if they were selling. Then I stumbled upon this http://cgi.ebay.com/McMaster-Carr-Supply-Catalog-70-1964-ASBESTOS_W0QQitemZ190370575283QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Texbook_Education?hash=item2c52f873b3 And that's not the only one that sold in that range. I'm speechless. Derek
  12. Hi Daniel How did you determine your lag. By looking at the data log? I sometimes think tuning this thing has been harder than building it! Thanks Derek
  13. I tried it out yesterday and was quite impressed. It's under a tab called "VE Analyze Live". There doesn't seem to be a manual yet but it's pretty intuitive. I was running a little rich at idle. I reset my AFR table and turned on auto tune. Slowly but surely it dialed it right in to the AFR I requested. No fuss no muss. Derek
  14. Nice work! That's also the same color my 73 was. The paint scheme has nice a 70's feel about it. Me likee Derek
  15. Happy birthday!!!!! 10 years ago I was 40....Has anyone seen my walker? Derek
  16. funny but the narration needs punching up. Think Dan Dykroyd and the Basomatic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iYI_43UpZc
  17. Looks good. Don't put a center bar in if you can help it, like the evolution has. If you move up to a pedal set with a clutch the center bar is a pain. That' whay I set mine up as a hoop. Derek
  18. Thanks. The pedal box was a big improvement. I set everything up like it was the 240 so it's comfortable to me. Derek
  19. Here's what I came up with using one of my old seats. I pulled the pedals out of the G25 and hung them. Made a big difference. Derek
  20. Kind of sorta maybe. If I can get three firm orders from reputable forum members (that leaves you out) then I'll start the next private conversation with those three as to how to make it happen and the time frames involved. Well considering I own Datsunworks.com I'm imagining that will be on there somewhere! Until nissan sends me the cease and desist order that is. Then they'll really be collectible. Shoot me a pm and we can set up a time to talk.
  21. Thanks. Boy you got that right! The castings are just a minor part of everything it takes to make these run. There is a huge amount of machining and fitting that has to happen. I put the pricing up because people were asking. Even if I get firm orders for three that won't cover the expense of updating the patterns for production. Realistically no one is falling over themselves to buy a set. Derek
  22. I've had a Sycrowave 250 for about 15 years now. It's a great machine for SS and aluminum. I wouldn't go much lower than a 250 if aluminum is in your future. A 180 will be like trying to drive 10 penny nails with a tack hammer. you'll get there but it takes some time! Derek
