  1. What they said! Plus for me I was going to have to upgrade my dizzy and it is just a lot cooler looking. Oh and check my sig if you need a install kit. Man that plug was just shameless. Derek
  2. Is that whimming or whining The covers are 35.00 plus 5.00 for shipping to the us. $45.00 plus shipping for the deluxe cover. Check with me first about Canada and international. This goes for everyone. PM me your paypal address and what you want and I'll send you out an invoice. Thanks Derek
  3. Allrighty then. I have an assortment to choose from. Raw, silver anodize, all black, black with silver Z and black with black Z. The black with black Z is $10.00 more because I have to put it in the mill again after it's anodized and carve out the Z. Also the back ground is no longer anodized so you will have to keep it waxed. They came out really great and I think everyone will be happy. The raw one is already sold to Jeff. AtlantaZ and Soundmasterg have dibs on the black Zs with silver background if they want to pay the extra bucks.I have 2 in stock Lance Vance gets the all black one AtlantaZ and rjstcroix have dibs on the black with silver Z. I have enough material to make 16 more and I'll be making them soon so If you got skipped don't sweat it as I'll have more. Just let me know what color you want. Nobody is tied to their choices so If you want to make a different selection no problem.
  4. I would tell you but then you would bother me Right now I have in stock: Kick panel speaker pods for 70/73 .080 cam tower shims .063 cam tower shims EDIS install kits for L6 In development: Distributor block off plate (DUH) "A pillar" pod gauge mount Bouncing around in my near brain Rear trim panels with integrated speaker pods Lower door panel covers with integrated speaker pods and maybe a door pocket if I can fit it. Way down the road. (probably never buy hey I can dream) Dashboard that holds modern gauges a 7" touch screen and modern vents for the AC.
  5. Yes that's getting into the "I'll pay you to take this" relm of parts! I'll do an all silver one first when I start anodizing and post up a picture. Then people can make their final decisions on what color they want then. Derek
  6. I'll have to charge you extra for that No problem I'll put you guys on the list Derek
  7. I finally got around to making a distributor cover. Here is a shot of the prototype. It's 6061T6 anodized black with the "Z" and outer ring sanded through. The tool paths around the Z will stay there but stuff like the rounded off edge by the lower mount hole won't. I sanded the side of the cover and removed too much material which exposed the timing cover. This will be corrected in the production piece. I'm going to offer them in plain anodized silver as well which I think would look better on my setup. The price is going to be $35.00 plus shipping. Shipping via priority mail is probably around $5.00. If you want a plain one that's not anodized it's $28.00. If you think your going to want one reply to this post with the color you want. I'm just trying to get a feel as to how many to make on the first run. Thanks Derek
  8. Thanks Lance I've had this on the drawing board since I did my EDIS install on my car. I did a couple mock ups and didn't get the Z just right. Plus I wasn't crazy about the design of the Z I was using. Then one thing led to another and it was way back on the burner. I have my own 2 gallon anodizing line. It was giving me fits and I ended up retiring it for a while. I finally pulled everything back out and I think I have the problems solved because I'm getting great results this time. I feel bad about jumping in here with this if others are working on theirs but I was going to come out with it anyway so now's a good a time as any! Here's what I'm running right now. It's a piece of corian countertop material! Nothin but the best for my car. Derek
  9. Hi I've had a block off plate on the back burner for a while now and finally decided to make it a reality. It's basically the same as AtlantaZ has described. Took a couple of tries to get the "Z" oriented properly to the bolt holes but I think I have it nailed this time. Here's a sneak peek. I'll be anodizing it black in the morning and then I'll sand through the Z and outer ring. Should look pretty sharp. Derek
  10. Yea but anyone can do that. It takes a real idiot.. I mean genius to make their own intake manifold. The bottom line is every time you open the hood you'll know it was worth it. At lest that's how it is with me. Great fab work. Derek
  11. Put large washers under the nuts, set camber, tack (stitch) weld washers. Finito! Derek
  12. Thanks for the offer but I work digitally so regardless of what I'm working with it would still have to go through these stages. Derek
  13. Well I started going the modeling work on the pillar pod. Actually I've been picking at it for the last few weeks. Here is a shot of the imported 3D scan The first thing I did was position the curves from the original profile along the scan. I then used the guide curves to loft a surface. You can see the surface follows the mesh pretty well. That was the easy part. Next I project lines down to the mesh to use as a reference for creating the guide curves I use to make the surfaces. This section is the top where it follows the windshield weatherstrip around and tucks under the visor mount. This is all kind of wavy because I'm pulling the curves from the areas I formed with the modeling clay. Keep in mind this is just the reference surface I'm creating so that I can design the actual pod section. And you thought this was easy! Derek
  14. Thanks. Well anything will work with enough effort! I really think someone with more knowledge than myself about the ZX would be qualified to answer. I haven't set foot in one since 1979. I may be willing to form 2 pods onto a sheet and sell you that. you could then cut out the shape as you like. It would be a little tricky as the ribs and channels I put in there give it the strength. With just the pod it will be kind of floppy. Derek
  15. Thanks guys. steering collum gauge pod is on the list. I'm just starting to work with the 3D mesh that I got from the scans so I may be good to go with that but I'll let you know. Derek
  16. It's going slowwwwwwww! This is going to be a bit of a tricky piece to form. I'm kind of waiting until I have some more experience with the vacuum former before I proceed. But i've had enough requests that it will happen. Derek
  17. Here is the spec sheet from my speakers Let me know if you need more info. Derek
  18. As a long time owner of a 1911 I can verify that they get heavy in a hurry. If you don't have a properly suspended rig you will be uncomfortable in no time. You really need to analyze your carry requirements. If it's in the glove box then in your belt to the house and then properly stored then it's not a problem. But if your out and about you will stop carrying because of the weight. I ended up with a stainless steel mustang as well because there were times when I needed something small but I was comfortable with the 45 and the mustang just felt right in my hand. But now that I live in a smaller town I no longer carry and I let my permit expire about 10 years ago. Derek
  19. I have stock on these now and have put up a thread in the Venders section. Panels Thanks Derek
  20. Well I wish I had known this before but I'm so far in now I might as well keep working with what I have. Derek
  21. Here are some numbers for you. The car has been plugged in for 4 hours so this is as good as it gets for this ambient. Ambient temperature 70 deg F Water temp according to Megasquirt 162F Oil temp measured with Fluke meter with thermo couple in dipstick hole. 100F Valve cover temp measured with infrared 105F I didn't plug it in last night and when I went to start it at 45 deg F it turned over noticeably slower. It also didn't get to operating temp until I was about a 1/4 mile from the shop which is why I did this mod in the first place Derek
  22. I'm running that same unit on my car. Although I daily drive my car it's mostly short hops so I use it to warm up the car before I drive it. It's on a timer for the morning and then I keep it plugged in when I'm at the shop. It gets everything warm including the oil. The valve cover is hot to the touch. It's also nice for setting the valves as it keeps the engine at operating temps longer. If you want I can get you a temp tomorrow when it's plugged in. Derek
