  1. Well it may be a Ferrari but it definitely has an S-30 steering column in it! Also I doubt that Ferrari was using a locking steering column in 1968.
  2. That's great. Can't wait to see the video. And yes the induction noise is well worth the effort! Â It sounds like........Victory. Derek
  3. Same exact story with me. Fit like crap. I also ordered a carpet set that could have used a little more work as well. Derek
  4. Be careful not to cool the weld down. Also dollying the weld before grinding will help reduce the tension created by the weld shrinkage. Just some thoughts Derek
  5. It will be worth the effort every time you open the hood! Trust me! Looks great. Nice execution. Â If it works out to your liking you can blend in the welds and then get a foundry to put it in their Wheelabrator machine. this will help give it a nice even finish and look more like a single casting. Derek
  6. Â I've had problems since the forum switch with firefox. I went to Opera and the problems went away. I keep hoping it will straighten out.. Derek
  7. Wow I hope this works out well for you. I also had ordered from them about a year and a half ago and had no problems. But in this economy a year and a half is a lifetime. Derek
  8. Not sure if your going the .080" shave or not but here's my shameless plug for the shims I sell. Cam shims Derek
  9. Well the Chrysler TPS was a piece of crap as well. I've been suffering with it for months now. I finally decided to fix the problem.  I ended up with one from Motec. Worked like a champ and was reasonable at $45.00. I have much better resolution so my TPS based accel enrichment works much better. Just thought I'd update this for future reference. Derek
  10. Your wish is my command! Alright I'm going to be knocking out another 8 setups. Those with the first dibs are according to the date they contacted me. PrOxLaMuS EvilC  280zNHChris attyoung911 ashintar ModernS30 If your on this list please let me know your status. Derek
  11. I don't think it was a hijack. The boat and lake would have a calming affect which would allow me to have a better feel for the throttle. Derek
  12. Ok I'm a little confused. Dan says I should reduce my COS error by extending the link from the firewall to the butterflies. Tony seems to be saying I should buy a house on the lake and get an old Chris Craft. Unfortunately in this economy I can only afford Dan's idea so I ordered up a length of hex aluminum to make a longer link. Derek
  13. I figured that's where you were heading with that question! I think it must play into it for sure. But opening up the angle has made a big enough difference that I'll probably be sticking with this arrangement. It's still touchy but compared to what I had it's a huge improvement. Theoretically I could make a cam wheel to drive a cable over to the throttle lever. I may give that a try some day but my to do list is so freeking long right now it's beyond "back burner" DerekÂ
  14. Hi Tim Not hard mounted but I have a torque plate welded across the drivers side mount. There is very little movement under acceleration. DerekÂ
  15. Well I had a little free time in the Bridgeport so i figured I'd better get it knocked out! And it was bugging me for year. DerekÂ
  16. Success! on the first test I opened up the angle 10 degrees. Throttle response was smoother. Went another 5 degrees and that was just right. I shortened the link that's parallel to the firewall and got my full throttle back. Did last nights and this mornings commute and it was a huge improvement. I can actually lug through a turn now without lurching. Thanks Ron Derek
  17. Thanks Ron. Looks like a workable idea. I'll cut a couple test ones out of corian to get a feel for it. I'll update with results. Thanks Derek
  18. Well I've got about a year of daily driving on this rig and I'm ready to fix something that's been bugging me for a while. Getting it of the line smoothly. The throttle is just too touchy at the bottom end. Here's a shot of what I'm currently using I can't seem to come up with a good way to make it progressive without going to an eccentric and cable arangement. Anyone have any ideas on a progressive setup that uses the rod configuration I have? Thanks Derek
  19. Derek

    Proximity sensor?

Might want to read this first! RFID Hack Derek
  20. My arms got tired just watching it! WOW Great vid. Derek
  21. Thanks for the order. Glad you like them. Derek
  22. Hi Carl This may sound a bit crude but I just built a porch on my house and used a foam sandwich material for the roof panels. It's 3" thick foam with 2 sheets of powdercoated aluminum bonded to them. They come in 4' wide and 2' wide and have an interlocking edge. The stuff is really tough and very reasonably priced. You order it cut to length. It's the same stuff they make walk in cooler with. This would be good for the sides but not the floor. Just a thought. Derek
