Yes I am a capitalist pig! Thanks for all the kind words guys. I think the pricing is pretty fair but the proof will be in the puddin. Right now i don't plan to sell any of the parts separately out of the groups. Derek

I've posted some theoretical pricing here: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1109515#post1109515 Thanks Derek

Well I guess the time has come to put some pricing up for my EFI manifold. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=129941 This still doesn't mean I'm going to produce them. I know that sounds snarky but I figure this will separate the wheat from the chaff. I can then decide what I'm going to do from there. The first thing to remember is they aren't cheap. You can absolutely buy less expensive ITB setups. There is a ton of hand work producing these. The only reason to justify spending the money is for the looks. And to me they're worth every penny! Ok lots of pennies. I've broken it into three pieces. Manifolds, linkages and fuel delivery. Manifolds including throttle shafts and butterflies $2100.00 Linkage including 6 arms and 5 links with rod ends. $385.00 Fuel delivery. Injector hold downs. Stainless lines and distribution block $750.00 I don't have pricing worked up yet on the vacuum log. As with everything these prices are subject to change. If I do decide to produce I'll only take orders for 3 and then revisit the pricing. Thanks Derek

Hopefully you figured it out. The bracket is slotted and pivots on the 8MM bolt. This allows you to set the air gap. Derek

If you set up your edis wheel like this illustration the timing will be very close. If it isn't then the problem is in how you have Megasquirt set up. The key-way which lines up with the damper bolts is at the 12 o'clock position and notice the relationship between the missing tooth and the sensor. You can mount the wheel backwards and this would throw things out of whack. I can't rember. are you using a laser cut wheel or did I modify an ford wheel for you. Derek
-
Well it's working on mine but that probably doesn't count! Does the COP use the ford edis control box or just the sensor? If it doesn't and you have the edis wheel set up like the picture in my instructions http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=153367 then the problem is in the Megasquirt. If it does use the EDIS brain then it sould run in limp mode with the Megasquirt disconnected. Derek

Hi Jeff I saw a dark haired guy walking around with a grassroots name tag on that was about that age. Derek

Went down to PRI in Orlando on Friday. Part business part pleasure. Called a couple of friends and they said Meet us at the Grassroots booth we're talking to Pete Brock. So I head over there and on a whim I pull up a picture of my manifold on my phone and showed it to him. He was pretty impressed. He asked me for a business card and wrote "cool L6 intake" on the back and put it in his pocket. Now that made my day. Derek

I'm just getting a list of people interested so I can see if it's feasible to make another run. Derek

Hi Ross The patches behind the 1/4 glass are fine. In the right light I can see the seam on the dog leg splice. Some of this may be due to shrinkage. I had a limited time to get the car done so I had to rush the cure times on the primers. I've got shrinkage in a few other areas as well. I should have let the high fill sit for a couple of weeks before I sanded. It's a daily so it's no big deal. Better prep may have made a difference on the seam as well. I was really powering through everything. I didn't strip the car so rust that I did'nt uncover during the body work is starting to pop up. My plan was to get a decent paint job on it. Fix the small rust spots that pop up over a couple of years Then repaint. Of course I'll have to do it again and again and again....... Derek

Hi Paul. Any thoughts on a L28 std bore with dished pistons and a shaved .080 P90 . With a felpro gasket that gets me (according to the L engine calculator) 8.3:1. This is with a 46cc combustion chamber. My bottom end in in perfect shape and with all this talk going on about loosing timing points due to detonation I'm hesitant to change the pistons. Plus it's a lot of extra work! I also don't see pump gas getting any better as time goes on. Thanks Derek

The console is brand new. The panel that holds the switches is done with SEM texture paint and SEM trim black. Both rattle cans. Those products are a must have for interior work. Derek

I used contoura rocker switches in mine. http://stores.ebay.com/Genuinedealz_Contura-Panel-Switches_W0QQ_fsubZ5284440QQ_sacatZGenuinedealzQ5fQ5fW0Q51Q51Q5ffsubQ5A5284440Q51Q51Q5fscQ5A1Q51Q51Q5fsopQ5A2QQ_scZ1QQ_sidZ779049QQ_sopZ2 Derek

I don't irace but i rFactor. I'm developing a 240 for rfactor. Here's a link I just posted yesterday. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=156761 Derek
-
I'd be interested if you had a 240 to race:) Seriously the big problem for me is Sundays. That's Wife day. If you did it on a Tuesday or Wednesday I'd be in. Derek

Yes and it can be a problem. I throw a sheet over it so I don't see it but then it looks eerily like the ancient astronaut in the movie alien. Don't look in the pod you idiot! The program is $40.00 and the g25 wheel and shifter is in the 250.00 range. They are coming out with a g27 so the prices may be dropping. The load cell for the brake mod is 70.00. Here is a snip from the physics file on a mustang You can see there is a lot of info to come up with. Some of the settings have ranges because you can go into the garage section and fiddle with the settings. Hi Clive. Yes there seems to be quite a bit of intermingling between Simbin cars and rFactor. Derek

All right this is a little wordy so please stick with me! I have a driving simulator called rFactor. It's an awesome program. This driving SIM is the same one that's used by some of the F1 teams to train on. The physics engine is very advanced. Plus there is a huge amount of user support in the way of add on cars and tracks. These are called MODs for you old dudes like me out there. I bought the program so I could improve my driving skills since I don't have access (money) to a track. I built a driving rig out of an old seat from my 240 and a logitech G25 wheel. The G25 is nice in that it has a clutch pedal and a shifter. I did a mod on the pedals and hung them and added a load cel on the brake pedal for a more realistic feel. My driving ability and especially heal toe ability improved greatly. There was only one thing missing. An actual 240Z to drive on the track. Well being an idiot I decided I would make it my mission to make it happen. I did some checking around and and contacted one of the top mod groups to see what I could make happen. You know its just amazing how much interest you can get when you mention that you own a 3D laser scanner to a bunch of volunteer game developers! So now that I was their new best friend we hashed out a plan of action. I'd handle all of the 3D modeling work and they would take care of the physics, sounds, and other assorted mumbo jumbo that makes the thing work. Now this is where you guys come in. I need data. Lots of data. It's mind boggling how much info can be programed in. The one that really caught my eye was size and location of fuel tank so that it could factor in the weight of the fuel. Now that's thorough! This is where you come in. I'm going to looking for as much accurate info as I can get. I know some things may be averages and some will be educated guesses. But your guess is going to be a hell of a lot better than my guess. The physics guys on the team are really into creating cars that are accurate as possible and will use as much data as we provide. What's in it for you you might ask. Well nothing really unless you plan on getting a driving setup. In that case it might be a good too to keep you sharp in the off season or tune up a little before going to a new track. Or we can all meet up online for some awesome Z car racing. Most of you guy's followed me along as I went through the madness that was casting my own EFI manifold so you know I finish what I start out to accomplish so this won't be wasted effort on your part. Here is some shots of where I'm at in the modeling process on the Z. The exterior is mostly done and I'm starting on the interior. Right now it's going to patterned after the BRE car but that is just for style. The shaping isn't perfect but it will get the job done. All the handling and aerodynamics is done with the physics definitions. The 3D model is there to hang the skins. If you go on youtube and search on rfactor you can get an idea of what it's all about. Don't hate me just because I'm insane! Derek

Too late. I beat you too it. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=156711 I'm cheaper than Kameari and MSA but I might be a little high on the pricing compared to silverseal. I just put a set on my P90 and the cam spun like buttah. Derek
-
Hi I made up some aluminum .080 cam tower shims for the P90 mod. No more stacking multiple shims and the problems that can cause. Plus they're cheaper too! $100.00 per set plus $4.95 flat rate priority mail anywhere in the US. Check with me on International. Thanks Derek

Here's my rig for practicing heal toe and left foot braking. The steering wheel location and pedals are the same as the Z. I've modified the pedal placement for better heal toe. The wheel is a G25 and I modded the pedals so they hang. I'm running rfactor. Derek
-
I think he's talking about the advance curve. Derek
-
But I'll consider doing another run if there is enough interest. If you are pretty sure your going to buy one send me a PM and give me a rough idea of how long it will be before you will need it. There's no obligation as I know things change. Derek
-
I'll build the chairs and you can do notorious things in them to up the value!
-
I'm about 1:15 north. Not far at all. Derek
-
Hi Clive. If there's enough interest I'll make another run. By interest I mean enough people with serious post counts saying they want one. This economy is so tough on people that it's hard for them to pull the trigger on this kind of stuff anymore. Realistically if 5 people say they want them probably 2 will come through. And that's just the nature of the beast. Derek
