  1. Before I got married I had a 23' travel trailer parked in my shop and I lived in that. Well I showered and slept in it, I LIVED in the shop! It worked out great for me for a few years. I eventually built a nice loft with a shower. Chicks thought it was cool until they had to trek down the stairs in the middle of the night to use the can! Derek
  2. Probably has something to do with the yellow band below his title! Derek
  3. I have 15' Konig Rewinds, Toyota calipers with vented rotors and Illuminas. I had to grind some of the vent material off of the caliper castings for the wheels to fit. It wasn't that much though. Derek
  4. This is my Schwinn Suburban 5 speed circa 1973. This was the last bike I had before I got my drivers license. And once you have your license and a car who needs a bike! I saw this on ebay about 5 years ago and figured what the hell and bought it. The last time I rode it was a few years ago but it rode like a new bike.Too bad I can't afford to replace the Apple Krate I had before the suburban! Derek
  5. That's what American innovation has come to. Innovating new ways to sue people for your own idiocy. Derek
  6. Here's what I did http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=128208&highlight=body+panel+adhesive Derek
  7. I have a set in the classified section http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=151215 derek
  8. Yes but not in real time! Amazon just revoked my edition of 1984 anyway. This sucks.
  9. I'm for anything that discourages and defeats the use of big brother cameras. After a few years it will be ok to have one pointing at my front door. Derek
  10. I have the same ones on my car and for about the same time period. I'm happy with the feel. It takes a bit of hefting while parking if your not rolling but it's not too bad at all. I wouldn't change back to stock. Derek
  11. My machine is giving me fits and my wife just had back surgery so I'm dealing with that as well. Fortunately she can wipe her own ass! I'm inundated with work right now which is good for me and bad for the HybridZ community. At this point I have no idea when I'm going to be able to produce some more stuff. Derek
  12. I don't have time to get into the ins and outs of it but no, using bronze is a bad idea. I'll give you the same advice I give everyone else. Find a small foundry (does not need to be near you) that will work on short run projects. Learn how to make the patterns (which you have to do anyway) and leave the pouring to the foundry. If you read the three threads I have on casting my EFI manifold you will have a pretty good idea how to get it done. The info is all there. Derek
  13. I forgot to post why I have central locking... I shaved the door lock cylinders. The door looks a lot better without them. I still have a key to the hatch and if there is ever a problem I can reach in through the open hatch and unlock. Sorry no shots of the finish product. It's raining out! Derek Edit: One other thing I did. By removing the lock Cylinder and then installing a metal shield over the latch there's no way to get in there with a slim jim.
  14. I love my central locking system, cruise control, electric windows and Vintage Air ac unit that actually cools. But then again this is my daily so I want my comforts! Derek
  15. I saw this on another site and it worked like a charm. Use a coping saw. Drill a 1/4" hole through the rubber. Pass the saw blade through the rubber and attach to saw. Saw out the rubber letting the blade wipe against the outer steel bushing. It was really simple and I was using some cheap harbor freight blades I had laying around! Derek
  16. Should of happened years ago. Then there would be more gas for us!! Derek
  17. Hi Jeff Make sure your sensor wires are separated from any wires that may be causing noise. I used shielded wire and single point grounding on my setup. I was also very careful about the routing of everything. I've yet to log a single reset. Derek
  18. Well I made it back safe and sound! It was great too finally meet you guys face to face as well. Your pop seems to have quite the Z history. That poor deer. I put about 500 miles on it and it ran flawlessly. I wish all of my projects worked this well. I ran the car at about 75 or so the whole way down and back, using cruise control of course, and it was very comfortable. At this point I no longer worry about the EDIS or megasquirt letting me down. Derek
  19. The stuff I bid on for Disney is reproducing a bunch of existing castings. They'll supply me with an original and I'll scan it with my 3D laser scanner. Then I'll derive a pattern from that scan. Have you been reading my notes? At this point that's the range for the manifolds machined with throttle shafts and butterflies. Everything else will be À la carte. It will have to be an exceptional circumstance for me to sell a raw casting. I'm waiting for the economy to improve and then I'll make some decisions as to my long term goals with this thing. I'm lucky to have steady work right now and I'm not too inclined to take any big risks at the moment. Derek
  20. Well right now I'm doing patterns for 2 old Lincoln tri power intake manifolds, A decorative storm grate, The fascia on a building restoration in Washington DC and I just bid on redoing a bunch of castings at Disney. Phew! Derek
  21. You just want me to bring this to market because the price for your setup will seem like the "bargain of the century" compared to what I'll have to charge:) Derek
  22. Yea what Tony said! I'm not really sure how I came up with that 1.495 number but it was probably a material issue. I had to bore the stainless pipe I was using and I had to take it to 1.495 to get it clean. the manifold then tapers down to the stock port size. I think it's 34mm. In My opinion the CAM pogram I use is no more difficult than Solidworks. And CNC machining is much simpler than traditional machining. As far as selling manifolds I still don't know what direction I'm going with these. The egomaniac in me would love to have people driving their cars with these manifolds but the businessman in me say's STOP. The patterns would need to be reworked and the core boxes are total sh!t so I would have to re do those. I'm not a "your on your own" kind of guy so I would feel responsible for helping people achieve success with their manifolds. And that can be costly. Derek
  23. Thanks Paul That's exactly the look I was going for. The best part is though it actually runs. And I don't mean it runs at full throttle and everything else is a compromise, It runs great period. Sitting at an idle, cruising in third gear at 2500, lugging in fourth gear when you should be in third. I'm running extra code and it even brings the idle speed up when I turn on the A/C! I wish I had the skill and the time to properly tune it because there are some areas that I think could be better. Thanks Yasin I thought you were following the build thread I had going.. Hell I with my ego I figured everyone was following it! Derek
  24. I just posted this in the non tech forum http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1021132#post1021132
