    whats up guys

Welcome, you have found the perfect site for information for your swap.
  3. I also use the mcmaster weatherstrip and it seems to be working great and the price cannot be beat. But you won't get any points at car shows if you are going for the full restoration points.
  4. The Motorsports package is the Precision kit. Notice they say "was designed for the 77-78 280Z". The $180 is the best price I have seen for the Precision kit.
  5. But I'd take it! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-1971-Datsun-240Z-w-V8-wide-body-show-car-quality_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ4594421433QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  6. I always liked big sedans. Not sure if they will ever appreciate in value or what the value is but if you end up selling I might be interested. How much does he owe you?
  7. JT1, thanks for that enlightenment. Now that I know that they probably should be there I'll need to find the lost one.
  8. I was told the engine was rebuilt but am beginning to not have much faith it what people say. You mention it has Dart Heads, did they have any markings that indicate that? The heads on it look like the ones in your pictures but I was thinking about pulling them off to "see what I have". I also am curious about the reason for the valve lash pads. This is a new thing to me for GM engines and wondered why they were used. I can only assume they were installed for the roller rocker clearance but it looks like they would work fine without them (of which one is!). Any information you might still have around or in your head would be appreciated. I got the website file so now I just need to figure out where to put itJ
  9. I think the car has changed hands a couple of times since you owned it. I got it from Projectsbz here in Chandler (suburb of Phoenix) AZ. He told me he got it from someone in Texas (I think on ebay). It seems that someone in Texas removed the wiring and then sold the car. Christian (Projectsbz) started re-wiring and then decided to trade me for a couple of cars that would meet his current needs. The pictures on the DZA website are what it looked like when I got it and I have changed a few things so far and got the dash and gauges re-installed in the car (no problems with the angled gauges, it took a lot of pressure off me getting the last one straight:) ). I'll try and get some updated pictures up soon but stay in touch so I can ask you about anything else I might find I'll PM you an email address for the site file.
  10. Guess who owns that car now!! http://www.desertzassociation.com/membersrides/Robert/75280/index.shtml Me. : ) I would be very interested in obtaining the website information but am pretty web clueless.
  11. I'd have to agree with Tony, Sometimes it is the journey that is important, not the destination. Not to mention I can start my project today and start getting enjoyment from it, or I can save up money for years to buy exactly what I want only to have other emergencies come up to threaten the savings. I'd rather die with a half baked project in the garage than a pocket full of money.
  12. You might better off starting with a Grand Am : ) Sounds nice (expensive) keep us updated on the progress.
  13. I hate UPS but, like the heads. Do they have anymore?
  14. I believe the molds were purchased by Arizona Z car but never produced any products from them. Dave (Az Z Car) sold a bunch of his molds to someone in Ohio so maybe is was part of that purchase.
  15. I do remember but have no idea where it was. Sorry
  16. I was going to post NOOO!!! Don't do it. But now I see you want a logical reason. So I'll try this. With washers your wheel is no only in contact with the surface of the last washer on the stack (very little surface area even if multiplied by 4). Visually think of this. If you want to be 20 feet tall would you be more stable standing on 14 foot stilts or standing on a house?
  17. If they are hand painted each would be different. No sure what saying it is copyrighted gets you. An agreement from the painter would be much more restrictive unless there is another painter somewhere that would do them. Not going to copy them, but the comment did strike me funny too.
  18. I am not sure what this means but I bet I don't like it:) Here are my shiny parts! http://www.desertzassociation.com/membersrides/Robert/75280/picpage/page3.htm
  19. The Saturn version was also there and IMO looks better than the Solsitce.
  20. The converted cars (2 that I saw) were both rag tops but htey did have a hardtop version there. The hard top looks to be removable, so i am not sure if there is a coupe (non-removable top) version. Next year?... I have already seen one of these on the road with new temporary plates so i thought they were already available..
  21. After seeing it in person and sitting (tried) in the car it does seem like a reasonable price, either in stock configuration or the modified. However if you are over 6'5" tall forget it.
  22. I just saw those conversions at the SEMA show and the price list was confusing. Roughly $24K for the car $20K for the conversion for a total price of $31K? On the spec sheet I grabbed it listed base option for $18K LS2 6.0L 400hp GM crate engine LS2 clutch modified lowered shocks New springs Corsa mufflers Custom embroidery and name plates Custom serial number documentation Options are 7.0L (427 CID) 550 Hp gen III engine 6.1L (402 CID) 500 Hp Superchargers for 6.1 or 7.0 Mallett Ported Heads High performance clutch Competition brake system 4-core radiator
