  1. If you do decide to go AL... Ron Davis all the way. I found my invoice the other day finally. Item on the invoice is 1c-cu2616 description "26163 Custom 1.375" outlets" total price 254.00 with 17 bucks for freight. the 26163 I believe is the item code on the website. -Ed
  2. I'd highly recomend switching from vinyl. I recovered mine myself.. they look great and I hate them. Vinyl gets very hot doesn't breath, and likes to stick to bare skin. -Ed
  3. just fyi... I have two metal universal balls. They get VERY hot when left in the sun... remember to keep a towel or shirt or some cloth in your car to cover your knob when you leave it on a sunny day. Burns your hand here in TX heat. -Ed
  4. please tell me you didnt' run hard brake line directly to your slave cylinder for your clutch? Not a good idea. -Ed
  5. We should be havn' a Houston meet on the North Side soon... everybody's cars are just about driveable again. -Ed
  6. Now there's something I gotta try on my tranny... after my 5 speed went out a I picked up a local 4 spd for free.. leaks worse than my 5 ever did, and you can never tell where the dang leaks are comn' from... it's just wet period lol. -Ed
  7. Ollie.. you need to put your heat shield back on... that's how mine caught fire. Are your headers wrapped? Are you running advanced timing? all that can cause that rail to get hot. Especially in our scorching houston weather. The temp gauge in maxima for ambient read 100 degree today! Jegs makes some insulated sleeves for fuel lines and they have free shipping right now. -Ed
  8. just the cable and pulleys for it -Ed hopefully be getn' my 240sx project shortly
  9. I wouldn't refer to EFI as "arcaic" when your using carbs that are older than EFI... If you like mpg and you don't like messing with your car alot I would stay EFI and just fix the problem those systems are not that complicated at all. Easy to tweak also. If you want to have something to play with and don't mind the low mpg.. then go ahead and swap to carbs. I have triple webers and I work on them routinely... if your going webers... you can't use your current dizzy very well. I believe the SU's will work fine with vacummn advance dizzy. -Ed

    U Joints

Ross C sells parts off his website to convert to CV's. here is a link http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/default.php As for strength I couldn't tell you... I'm replacing my U joints for the second time in the entire cars life. And the U joint didn't break.. just the bearing seal failed and runied the bearing. -Ed
  11. sounds like maf sensor.. had a maxima that did that
  12. It won't do much good.. i added a secong muffler to quiet mine down... screams when you get on it.. the second muffler too the brassyness outta the note so it's more bassy now.. but still loud. -Ed
  13. Can't we all just get along? Come on guys.. seriously. I removed my comment so please do not quote me again. This is sounding a little childish.. I did not bash V8's or even remotely say anything bad about them. Furthermore... we should not be hijacking a thread and wasting bandwidth on this argument. There will be no right or wrong side for an outcome. That is why there is a v8 section and an L6 section.. along with other engines and even 4 bangers. To each is his own. Honestly.. at the end of the day.. if your going to let some comment somebody left on here offend you that much.. than you just let somebody else have more power over you than yourself. (Takes a bow and leaves the thread) -Ed
  14. If your taking out the A/C system you don't need a belt on a 280z. Just remove the compressor and the Idler pulley, and if your savn' weight.. all the copper tubing and condenser and drier. -Ed
  15. When ya go.. pick me up one.. i'll give ya some cash. -Ed
  16. I run the same magnaflow muffler on my NA.. but i'm sure it sounds complete different on mine.. lol. -Ed
  17. I've had really good actually... surprisingly well results with a 4 dollar can of Rustoleum Ceramic paint. Worked better than the por 15 high temp stuff I used lol. Still lookn' good too. -Ed
  18. I'm speechles... It's gorgeous... Props man... Give ya Props. -Ed
  19. This post caused too much drama and is unecessary.. I have removed my comment as I do not with to open up a can of worms on the Forum... there are much better things to talk about. -Ed
  20. I used the aftermarket OEM style replacement weatherstrip from MSA... alot cheaper than OEM. Initially it was hard as **** to close the doors, but after a couple weeks in the Texas scorching sun and a few open and closes.. they work very nicely. No slamming at all. Alot of problem with door slamming is miss alignment, worn hinges, striker plates, etc. A couple hrs adjusting will save ya weeks of headaches. But then again I have the later style latches... 78
  21. lol Unfortunatly I got suckerd into triple webers by my father. They look awesome.. but are such a pain. Very High maintenance compared to EFI. -Ed
  22. Well I know for a fact Nissan can't cut the keys usn' the codes.. I've already asked them before. I'll check the passenger lock tomorrow and let ya know.
