  1. John, dyno it with WB O2. you don't want to be guessing detonation. Anyway, what you described sounds like just a BOV going off.
  2. I have had a problem with 5 and 6 cylinder running leaner so I like the extra water jacket by 5 and 6.
  3. I was going to say that. Mine cruise 80mph, 3600rpm at 1350-1400 or so.
  4. If you have a MAF car, when your MAF gets wet, it'll cut off as you discribed
  5. I don't know how much Felpro holds. I'm all for Nissan unit as the sealing rings are larger than Fel pro if I remember right. But mostly, the HG sealing is in the prep. If the head and the bloack is true, it'll seal good. AS far as the HKS metal HG, I doubt mine is ever going to come off unless I break my pistons or something. I recommend it for those who do not want a worry.
  6. I figured that th ecylinder pressure increase as the cam timing advance. I really need to check up on that. How high is your EGT anyway?
  7. Well, 11 sec car is bound to break. weither Z or DSM. IMO I'm not worry about that as long as I can drive it on the street every now and then. It'll be hard to do on the Z car since you would have to trap alot more or hook like MOFO Well, I got to sell one of the other, I can't afford to keep two cars. I just can't make myself keeping a car older and slower as a daily driver. Even though, I love my Zcar.
  8. Mine is. (not bragging) I want everyone's opinion. Is it as pratical as the newer car. I'm heart broken between selling my 78 turboed Z and keeping my 90 Talon (turboed AWD) as a daily driver (Modifying it to be a 11 sec car) or sell the Talon for some profits. Then making a solid 12 sec. turboed Z. (about a whole sec faster than what I'm running now) So I guess what I'm asking is how pratical/reliable to drive a 12 sec 1G Z everyday? Anyone out there?
  9. I got me a die cast of S30 Z too. Plus an auto shading welding helmet.
  10. I would port that. I think mine is 1 1/16inch or something close to that. You might want the flapper off a GN T3 housing. BTW, nice stage V
  11. I know that turbo intake has no bumps inside. that's good I'm guessing. It's same myth about the non EGR intake. I doubt it can outflow others because it's lucks EGR.
  12. New thing is here http://www.bnecustoms.com/innovate_motorsports_wide_band.htm I think the sensor is included
  13. I personally think $2000 isn't going to be enough for anything swap. I think we have easily spent $2000 on a turbo swap and more. It's always th elittle stuff that costs money
  14. Tlon can be a fun car, stock one isn't so fast but with some free mods, you can run 12's. I just picked up a 90 Talon TSI AWD 90,000miles for $1200
  15. On tight budget, I wouldn't do either. But probably Turbo would be cheaper.
  16. I got a Portercable. Do'h! I do use I think Milwakee's Fire and Rescue blades.
  17. You can get the fuel pump to get more than 12V. I grounded my fuel pump to the chassis and I'm getting like 12.8V at idle. It'll flow more with more voltage. I also run big 125amp alternator too. 8)
  18. I love the feel of light weight flywheel also. I can tell you this, with early 5 speed, 3.90, 11lb fly and some boost, the car revs stupid fast
  19. I think little smoke is normal. I had a smoke like that out of my old engine with a breather on it. Anyway, all the seals blowing out on a rebuild motor doesn't sound so good. There must be something causing it to do that unless you didn't replace the seals
  20. Sounds like you got exessive crankcase pressure 525. Check and see if your PCV is working 8)
  21. I can't wait to see some great results Jersey. I want to see what the 50 trim can do. 8) Lighet weight flywheel is tricky to launch. I have to preload the clutch and hold the ebrake. (poorman's lineloc ) As long as I can launch the carunder boost above 3000rpm, I can cu 2.1 60ft on decent track
  22. Well, not getting ping at 16 psi, no IC huh? Does it make power? or is it just not moving enough air? Mine pings with 15psi spike and 300cc injectors I am moving some serious air though. Anyway, newer wheels are just so much more effiecient due to lighter and less blades on the wheel. O, I got a Fidanza and I like mine. The thickness is about same as stock one but it weights only half of the stock one. Plus, it's got a replaceable center contact section.
