of course it's not the FASTEST that car could do, but I'm sure with the TIRES it probably had, it was the best that guy could muster. it looked like he was pushing the tires past their limit for almost the entire track. and don't all those cars you linked have some form of traction control or stability management that help them go faster? the Yellow Bird didn't have those wonderful fancy gizmos

poor throttle response

another thing it could be, a simple clog in the gas tank or in the fuel pump. my car will basically do that, except it also starts hesitating when it gets really bad. instead of having to constantly buy new filters I got a simple fuel injection filter that has a metal screen in it so I can just shake out all the rust flakes that build up in there. -

my afm has the same white scratch from the hold down piece scraping on it when I would adjust it. fire the car up, go full throttle till it stops reving (which for you is 3000rpm?) and just play with the flap. moving it to the left gives more gas, and to the right gives less gas. if it has been played with, it looks REALLY freaking lean -
actually it looks like that steering wheel was made off axis, so the steering shaft isn't dead center on the wheel.

i've seen cellphone+yapper dog+smoking a cigarette out here a few times oh, and once it was a rather LARGE lady that made it look like it would be impossible to even drive straight.

I remember once I was EXTREMELY tired to the point I couldn't even think right or even talk without sounding like i'm totally hammered, and I saw a picture of some really pretty girl, and for whatever reason my brain went to the gutter fast, but instead of imaging some hot girl stripping, it was about a Z being pulled apart and everything. I shook my head and went WTF? then started thinking about putting cars together, then had the image of cars humping each other to make another little car. I never get that messed up from alcohol. EVER. but don't let me sleep for 2 days and I don't even think I could be considered sane by doctors. anyways, I have no desire to get a girlfriend or get into any relationships. the Z is top priority when it comes to that. work my ass off and give my earnings to her lmao.

I don't really brake check, instead I just lift off the gas and tap the brake just enough to kick it off the switch so my lights come on without the brakes actually being used. it's enough for most people out here to get the message and back off.

Haha sounds a lot like what I've been doing with my 78 lately. I've been doing VERY long drives (the other night I drove 100 miles because I was bored) all to make sure it's road worthy and performs how it should. I got the first part down mostly. so far in the past 3 weeks I've put something like 500+ miles on it. it's a good feeling to be able to drive just to drive doesn't it

it's easier to just open it and while reving the engine, move the flap one way or the other to see if your issue is a condition of being too lean, or too right (But do not adjust it if it has not been tampered with) that's what I do on my Z. most of the time, it's simply a problem of corrosion on the connectors. if your throttle position switch is busted (which is unlikely, but the wire itself could break) the engine will stutter and stumble very badly trying to get those rpms up, (and it will not be happy at all) -

how do your boots look for the AFM? (have you checked to see if your AFM is correct?) what kind of fuel pressure is it running timing is set right? is your exhaust crushed? -
I remember there's a website called myanimelist or something like that. I think I have something like 150+ series on it? I stopped keeping track of it last year. lmao I updated it just now http://myanimelist.net/animelist/nenkitsune most of it is stuff I've already watched, but all the current stuff is on my drive, and anything from the past year basically is on my hard drive. I think I have something like 300+gb of anime right now, and more than likely it's closer to 500+

My Z's engine is hurt, need help)
m4xwellmurd3r replied to m4xwellmurd3r's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
a Z N47. I want to see if it's possible to measure the head and figure out how much was milled, but I doubt that's possible. my engine USED to pull all the way to 6k no problem but it could be that my umm...unusual fix I did was the reason why. the FPR was siezed so the injectors were fed 100psi, so I just tightened the AFM spring till it ran good. that can wait for a while though. for now I'm happy with my halfway decent engine that does 20+mpg highway -
that explains what we already know lmao hollywood doesn't know crap about cars

if you think the anime was good you should check out the manga. it continues on much further than where the anime does (because the manga was still being released when the show came out)

welp, I bought a new harmonic balancer, it's the SFI spec racing balancer MSA sells. I figure it SHOULD hold out till the new one comes in as long as I baby my Z. I think I should do a rebuild as well on my Z sometime this year, so I'm going to start piecing together a rebuild kit. (I could use a fresh N47 head if anyone has one...mines been milled and I don't think it was shimmed, nor do I know how to find out how much it's been milled) -
alright, I need some SERIOUS help now. I fired up the Z today, and got a WONDERFUL metal hitting metal sound. the DAMPER looks like it's not straight and is tapping the timing plate from the looks of it. no unusual engine noise but I'm ALSO low on oil. AND pushing in the clutch moves the crank enough for the noise to lessen! the clutch still grabs like normal, so I don't think the rear main tore (I've had that happen on a bug, it wasn't a major tear, but the slightest bit of oil made the clutch turn to crap) and I think the oil thing is normal and I just never noticed. it does love to burn oil when it's cold.

http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/33318-halp.html some dude tried to do an oil change, drained his auto trans, went OH SNAP, then found MORE pink fluid, and dumped all his trans fluid into his radiator!

That'd actually help out a lot. within the next couple months I'm going to start piecing together a urethane bushing kit for most everything (from the diff to the control arms, just...not those pesky TC rods, I dont' need one going KINK and killing me) 30 years in the arizona heat has not been nice to the suspension bushings. I've got an inch of forward movement when I go into reverse on my passenger front control arm. while I'm at it i think I might get some new tires and lowering springs and struts. oh god, the dreaded "while i'm at it" disease.

I got my Z to pass emissions! just BARELY but retarding the ignition to 3* advance at idle did the trick. Load HC 124/250 Load CO 1.48/1.50 Idle HC 248/250 Idle CO .24/1.50 yeah, almost didn't pass but who cares. Time to save up money for the entire year to start building it up! yay! also, are there any Z guys near the I-17 and I-10 that would be able to help me do suspension work. I'd rather not tear off the suspension in my apartment parking lot.

Crazy motor mount for s30 sbc conversion
m4xwellmurd3r replied to zeeboost's topic in Non Tech Board
I really couldn't care less about vibrations I drive an old car because I expect to get the vibrations and noise of every bump in the road and every time the pistons fire off. I didn't buy a 30 year old Z so it could be QUIET! lmao speaking of which, about how much work is it to replace the control arm bushings and diff mounts/bushings on a stock '78 mine are shot (yeah way off topic >_>) -

so the idea is instead of having the engine sort of sit on some mounts and transfer torque to them, you make the engine in a way, become a part of the chassis, transferring its torque directly to the chassis. also looks like it'd be a hell of a lot stronger -
weird....I wouldn't know how retail PC's come now a days. they used to come with a big booklette of every cd for the PC for every part. now I've heard that they have recovery partitions in them that are essentially the OS install built onto the hard drive (not smart imo if the hard drive fails)

So, funny story. I walked into work today and my friend said "I just saw the most BAD ASS RED 280Z on fast and furious!" I replied, yeah, I know, he's a member on a forum I'm on. "HOLY ♥♥♥♥ THAT'S AWESOME!"
