  1. You either have a vacuum leak or your throttle plate stop screw is set too far open.
  2. There's got to be somewhere online where you can get just the gasket... I'm just too impatient to actually search online for a 99 cent part.
  3. Yep. AutoZone also didn't have it seperately, you have to buy the entire front cover gasket kit :/ It sucks because that's a $.99 part and you have to buy the $10 set.
  4. Open the throttle body screw or stop plate a little more, that should increase your idle RPM. Do you have an idle air control hooked up? Oh, not having the thermotime switch plugged in is a probable cause as well. Mine got unhooked this winter and I almost killed my battery trying to start it.
  5. I'm not going to lie... That sounds aweful.
  6. I have a Felpro Head gasket at the shop, but you can order them at AutoZone and have them within a day or two.
  7. Take a look at these, anyways. http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh81/flatblack280/Turbo%20for%20sale%20items/IMG_0045.jpg http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh81/flatblack280/Turbo%20for%20sale%20items/IMG_0046.jpg IIRC mine had cruise control and I took it off. The longer flat piece is the throttle stop on mine. You can see it in the pictures.
  8. I think JSM has some, you might try PM'ing him. I don't think the AZBUM brackets are expensive, but I just happened upon an early 260 at the junkyard and I wanted to share the info. I am also not sure if the 240 bumper bar hooks up to the brackets, it might be different. If they are, you could check Victoria British/Black Dragon, they might have those pieces. I'd have the bumper bar on my car but it is dented :/
  9. 240 Bumper brackets are totally different than the early 260 brackets. The 260 brackets are shorter than the 280 brackets but bolt to the stock holes.
  10. Sorry I couldn't help. Well, I took some more pictures anyway if you need them PM me I know at least those two flat circular pieces with the tabs sticking out are for the Throttle stop, and are mounted closest to the TB
  11. Shave the rear if you can swing it with the paint and everything. I'm not running a rear bumper and I think it looks the best without anything in the back. The early 260 Bumper brackets will bolt right up to the 280 and you can put a 240/early 260 bumper on the front. AZBUM also makes special brackets that allows you to install the 240 bumper on the car with little modification.
  12. Sorry guys. Come visit us Z guys in the South, apparently it's sunny everywhere. Nice day today, 84* and sunny http://www.weather.com/weather/local/72701?lswe=72701&lwsa=WeatherLocalUndeclared&from=searchbox_localwx
  13. These are all the pictures I have on the photo dump, hope it helps. http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh81/flatblack280/Shaved%20Intake/100_2454.jpg http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh81/flatblack280/Shaved%20Intake/100_2431.jpg This one is blurry and probably won't help, but here it is: http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh81/flatblack280/Shaved%20Intake/100_2449.jpg I'm going to the shop today to take some pics of all the extra turbo parts I'm selling, I'll take some up close pictures of my TB.
  14. Pics or ban Oh, and we always get a kick out of this: "So lavishly appointed, there are virtually NO options!"
  15. Pull the fuel filter and see if its rusty. I went through several filters before I bought a different non-rusty tank.
  16. My 2 cents: I'd put some miles on it BEFORE you leave on that long of a trip. My advice would be get it running with the L24 and carbs that are on there [turbo swaps take some time and have the tendency to nickle and dime badly]. Drive it around town in the meantime, and the main things that might go wrong will happen in town [hopefully].
  17. Wow the 8799PTs are $17 through AutoZone... And they are universal for all L6 blocks. [At least all of the L6s are listed on the sheet that comes with the gasket] How much are the Nissan gaskets? I remember X64 talking about how the Nissan gasket acts like a fuse and allows the block side to rip easier so it won't break a coolant passage.
  18. I've heard the webbing helps protect the injectors from heat, most people convert to the non-webbed intake for aesthetic purposes. No real performance gains. This has been talked about before...
  19. Holy Hell. Good luck and have fun with it!!
  20. Hold tight, he makes great products and it's worth the wait. I didn't feel like waiting for mine so I drove over to his house and picked it up.
  21. Mine came in a Flat Rate USPS envelope. I wonder if he has something against 130 owners
  22. From the tranny side of the block, the middle point of my oil return on the turbo is 9 and 3/4 inches from the back edge, and the middle point is 1 3/4" down from that point. This does not take into account the oil pan gasket, my turbo setup is on an L28 with no oil pan on it.
  23. I had actually forgot about these. I was expecting to open up a package that contained ECU and MAF connectors for my 88 Turbo Z31 ECU, and then saw these: [Excuse the awkward look on my face] The Flat Black Zed is waiting on a brake light pedal switch, so I decided the Z31 would suffice Thanks Justin, great products. I will definitely buy some more if you do another run some day.
  24. Sorry That Challenger is MURDERED I like it
