  2. I know jack about welding, but I have a co-worker who has been doing automotive welding for 40 years, and when I showed him the Millermatic 135 I was considering, he said it look like a good product and a good deal. He uses a high end Snap-On unit, but likes many features of the Miller, specifically the "INFINITE VOLTAGE CONTROL with WIRE FEED SPEED TRACKING," and "STANDARD BUILT-IN SOLID STATE CONTACTOR CIRCUIT." Millermatic 135 with Cart and 60 Cu Ft Cylinder (free shipping) $735.00 (eBay stores)
  3. Sweet car, but it needs more V-12.
  4. I had a 1997 Grand Cherokee and I loved it's I-6, but it doesn't belong in a sports car. If you want to seriously consider a truck motor, the Chevy Trailblazer's Vortec 4200 I-6 might be a better choice The Vortec 4200 is a 4.2-liter, inline six-cylinder, all-aluminum, dual-overhead-cam, four-valves-per-cylinder design engine. the engine delivers 275 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque.
  5. TBO = "Time Between Overhaul" Yeah, I know. I'm being nit-picky. <--- A&P Mech. (Jets only thank you ) Anyway back to the original post... How would you mount a transmission? How much torque does that Lycoming have? How quick is the throttle response? Can it handle repeated, rapid, speed (RPM) changes? Bad idea all around if you ask me. Get yourself a Suby 2.5L boxer and slap a turbo on it.
  6. Oh, I have no intention of painting my car chrome or even candy chrome. I just though it was interesting. IF I were to do something like this it would be black-candy-chrome, but like I said, I have no real intention of dong it. My car will either be black or a very, very dark matalic grey.
  7. Okay then, how's about a 911 with a LS1?
  8. I think that's a PHANTOM GRIP block. aka "Poor Man's LSD."
  9. THat would be shiftbmw's car for sale. He registered here the 02/07/06 and is listing the car in the Buy / Sell / Trade section... http://classifieds.hybridz.org/showproduct.php?product=1994 and on ebay... click me (US $3,050.00 (Reserve met) ) Looks like a real good deal to me, but I hate yellow.
  10. What if it's candied like the last picture (except it would be monotone and with no graphics)?
  11. Click me. EDIT: P.S. $50,000.oo! and the reserve has not been met.
  12. I was just wondering if any of you have done or thought about doing a chrome paint job? http://alsacorp.com/products/mirrachrome/mirra_prodinfo.htm I think just the chrome look is kind'a cheesy. More photos: http://alsacorp.com/company/50cent/50cent.htm But when used with a candy clear-coat it can look awsome: It's not cheap though: MC-101G-Kit Gallon Kit includes: 1 Gallon - MirraChrome 1 Gallon - Speed Clear 1 Quart - Speed Clear Hardener 2 Quarts - Black Basecoat 2 Quarts - Reducer 1 Polishing Cloth Price: $1399
  13. My vote is for ZERO louvers. The clean-look looks much nicer.
  14. I think there were only two versions of the 240Z tail-lights: US and European. I think the "JDM" is a just a marketing ploy. Euro US
  15. I like yours J Taylor. Kind'a has a doulble meaning: "Z" and "Sleeper." My car is an unregistered garage queen now but when I do get it on the road I hope to be able to get "Z" or "ZEE" or maybe "ZED" or possibly "ZEN."
  16. I'm 99% sure that the 5-mph bumpers were not introduced until late 1974 (260Z).
  17. The 73's have the flat-top Hitachi carburetors which have a tendency to vapor lock and/or run very rich. This is easily fixed by installing the earlier “round-top” SU carbs . They also have an (easily removed) Air-Pump (AKA Smog-Pump), a slightly different dash, and slightly different wiring. None of these cause any problems that I’m aware of. Otherwise they are pretty much identical to the earlier years.
  18. Nice stuff. A question and a request. Q: How do you mount a rear sway bar with those chrom-moly control arms? I see no attach point. R: PLEASE post a good write-up with pictures on how you mount those Miata seats!
  19. What, no drip-rail shave? Shame, shame. Nice video(s). Nice car. I'm jealous.
  20. 1. LOL! 2. eBay 3. LOL! Now' date=' back on subject. Superdan, the image you posted does show a way to see new items, but it doesn't show new items in the sub-areas. Example: I pick "Enigine Parts" and it shows me [by default'] the "Most viewed" items, I then click the "Last Day" or "7 days" link and it shows me all the newest stuff in all the areas including the "wanted" area. Imagine a newspaper classified section with no sorting order. "Dog and cats living together... Mass chaos." I was simply asking that each area default to sorting items by the most recently posted first. I haven't messed with vBulletin for years, but it seems like it would be an easy thing to change. :shurgs: I'm glad you're looking at the "auto-expiring " thing.
  21. I've never used them because I have triple Webers, but I hear nothing but good stuff about them. A rebuild kit is fine. I only suggest the rebuild service because of all the neat stuff they do... Another option is to send them to Rebello Racing. They don't do the throttle bushing-bearing replacement, but they do the "Big Bore 240Z SU 50mm" modification.
