The older 427 was a big block were as the new LS7 engine is more like a traditional small block(in size). What exactly are you looking for as far as info? Guy

It looks like a pretty clean car but that rusty frame rail kinda softens the deal... Guy

How do you know its not going into closed loop mode? It will pop out of closed loop if your 75%+ on the throttle also. Once you get off the throttle it will go back in but it takes a few seconds. Guy

Here's the link to it from Summit Racing online... http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CSI%2D901LT1&N=400179+300374+115&autoview=sku It says overall depth is 2.750"..... Guy

I would say it sticks out about 4" maybe 5" at the most. Guy

I went with the CSI electric water pump and a Cloyes double roller timing chain/gear set. I upgraded from the 93' opti to the 95' anyways so that extra cost was already there. I like the fact that there isn't a shaft going from my water pump to my timing cover now. Thats two less seals that will leak onto/into the water pump if you ask me! I paid like $150 for the pump and like $70 for the timing set(if I remember correctley....) That extreme duty timing chain set is waaaaaaaay over priced if you ask me! Its just because it can only fit the LT1/4 engines and they know it. Plus if your water pump(electric) ever fails it will only take like 10 minutes to change because it pulls off of the alluminum part of the pump housing! Guy

It wont go into closed loop mode until its up to a certain temp and ready a voltage signal from the oxygen sensor(s). Then it will start reading the O2 senors to adjust fuel/air ratios. It runs off pretuned maps before it goes into closed loop. So if your car is not going into closed loop its because your not reaching that specific temp and/or not getting a signal from your 02(s). There are other things that can cause it to stay in open loop. Certain codes will cause the PCM to go into open loop. This that might cause engine damage if it doesnt run "safe" in open loop. Do you have a check engine light or any codes present? Guy

I just started working at a Nissan dealership last week and I got to drive my first 350Z on Monday. It was a automatic(with the autostick feature), so I didnt really get a feel for the power. I really like the inside of the car personally. Oh and yes it does have a cup holder! It comes right out of the dash were the glove box is supposed to be! I think they need to make a 350ZT but thats just me. I like it overall but it could use a few more ponies! Guy

The KBC TK8 seems like a good deal but when it says "Meets or Exceeds All major worldwide safety standards and tests" does that mean that its atleast a SA2000 rating? I am unfamiliar with the rating system and I can't seem to find out if this helmet is up to the level I need? Any help on this would be great! Guy
-
Thanks for the offer but those are a little out of my price range. I am looking for something under $200 with an SA2000 or better rating. I didnt really see anything on that page that fits this description but thanks for the offer! Guy

I need to buy a helmet to use for circle track racing. It needs to be SA2000 or better. Where can I find a good deal on one? Thanks, Guy

Blown Head Gasket = Ported Heads?
80LS1T replied to Bartman's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
It would be nice if those heads on ebay had some flow numbers. I spent $1300 on my stock castings to have them ported, new valves(ferrea 1.94/1.50), and the intake port matched to the heads and TB matched to the Holley 58mm. Grumpy recommended Jeff Ondo. Here are my before and after #'s just to compare what you get for the money vs. buying a set of heads. I think I could have spent a little more and got a better set of heads but for what I was looking for at the time they seem to be suiting my needs! Guy -
Yeah but the SRT-4 Neon didnt look half bad....the Caliber on the other hand looks like a mini Durango.......aka UGLY! Guy

I hope you got that donor car for free! Looks like a nice project though! Guy

As you may have read I just finish installing a bigger turbo on an SRT-4. Now were trying to tune the boost controller(Greddy Profec B-Spec II ) to hold 20psi max boost. The owner and myself are extremly confused on how to tune this thing. Does anyone here have this boost controller and if so can you dumb down the terms on how to tune this thing! We are getting pretty frusterated with how to tune it after 2 days of trying to get it figured out. We know we have the vac lines hooked up right but we just cant seem to get the boost from going over 20psi! He wants to get a base tune for 20psi and know how to use this thing before turning up the boost and playing with the fuel maps. Any help would be great appreciated! Guy

Put me on that list too just let me know where to send the cash! Guy

Just finished instaling an "AGP Stage 4 Kit" on an SRT-4....
80LS1T replied to 80LS1T's topic in Non Tech Board
We just got his boost controller figured out tonight, no more boost spikes to 26psi! He's got is set to boost to 20psi now and holds steady. Man Im really impressed with the performance of that 50 trim turbo. Hardly any lag at all. With that boost controller its barely noticeable. Plus he can adjust the turbo lag with it. It is a very nice set up I must say! I can't wait to race him. Guy -
Just finished instaling an "AGP Stage 4 Kit" on an SRT-4....
80LS1T posted a topic in Non Tech Board
Well Monday and Tuesday I installed a "Stage 4 Kit" on an 05' SRT-4 Neon. Its a lot bigger than the factory turbo thats for sure! Should put down 400WHP! I also installed a Greddy Boost controller and a widebad for the customer/buddy. I didn't get to boost on the first test drive because the instructions said to let it brake in for atleast a half hour before boosting, so I never hit boost at all. Let me tell you that was tough to do! The kit came with a "50 Trim turbo", 750cc injectors, 255 Walbro fuel pump, Fuel management system, external waste gate, and BOV hardpipe. For $3600 its going to double his HP/TQ! Seems like a pretty good deal to me. He already has the full 3" SS exhaust and its sounds mean for a 4 banger! I installed it at work for $200 plus Dodge is paying for some of it because I wrote up some BS warrenty claim. I didn't care because Friday is my last day before I move over to Nissan! My boss wasn't too happy that we only charged him 5 hours @$40/hour(our accesory rate)but I didn't really care because it was my way of saying "see it isn't very nice when you work on something and don't get paid for it!" Now he knows what it feels like(see my previous post about me quiting my job from 2-3 weeks ago). Anyways, my buddy is coming over tommorow and were going to go for a ride to see what she can do. Then he's going to set up a dyno appointment soon to see what she can do. He only wants to tune it to about 375WHP because the stock internals are only good to about 400WHP, so he wants to keep it on the safe side till he upgrades later. All I know is that this car is going to haul some serious a$$! I will try to get a dyno sheet copy to post. I think this car will give my car a run for the money thats for sure! Both weight about the same and hes probably making more HP/TQ but he's FWD. Should be interesting if I ever get my car painted! Guy -

Everything works, quick question on fan
80LS1T replied to nazar's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I did not know that you can use Autometer gauges with the LT1 oil pressure sending unit? I was told its pretty much a switch, on or off? I thought the Autometer sending units were basically variable resistors and thats how the gauge knows what to read. If you can use those leads coming out of the PCM then just hook them up to the gauges and see what happens. Having the speedo code though might still make your fans run all the time. Once you get everything hooked up and working then worry about the fans. Guy -
LT1 upgrade will start in gear, how to fix??
80LS1T replied to love-my-V8-280Z's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Leave it out of gear and pull the parking brake! I have the same thing and I dont intend to do anything about it. It's kind of nice being able to start the car with out getting in it! LOL Guy -

You mean there are other wires/connectors besides the stock ones that are labeled "oil pressure" and "coolant temp"? Were do those wires go to(pcm?)? Guy
