  1. I drive the Purple Turd everywhere, even the new 436 is a pump gas motor. I do not run slicks only drag radials, tiny ones 255/60-15's. I found using a 10" 250 lb coil over spring with KYB cheap ass struts is the trick. All the high dollar ones blow, they don't like rebound, Oreilly's lifetime gaurantee is the chit! I found running 15-16 psi in my drag radials works great. Nothing fancy up front, just Arizona 220 lbs springs and Tokico blue struts fit the bill. Do a burn out and make sure you are getting the correct patch/most tire to the ground as possible. I have seen plenty of Z's that cannot hook because they do not work on suspension details, it's really rather simple. I have had my fair share of beating up on horsepower/dyno queens who throw numbers around like they have the baddest car on the planet. I ran a 2002 Z06 with a iron block 408 and procharger putting down 850 rwhp. I gave him his race, a 30 roll twice, shut down at 130 with 3 cars on him. He was pissed until I told him my Turd ran 9.70's. Should have seen the look on his face....priceless!
  2. I ran 10.60's with a cam only LS2, 4l80E and a 3600 stall 9.5" converter foot braking it. Getting the suspension right helps tremendously! I agree running 8's in anything is no piece of cake and deadly if you do not have the proper safety gear/restraints. Should be an interesting season of racing coming up.
  3. I am running a R200LSD 3.70 gear, added clutches, 300ZXT CV axles and a pair of Modern Motorsport billet stubs. I have 60 ft. a best of 1.37 on them, mainly low 1.40's. In 8 yrs I have broken 2 CV axles, no stubs or differentials in this time frame. With the new 436 with LS3 Frankenstein heads I am hoping for low 9's or high 8's on a 200 shot....fingers crossed. Hope the NOS mini progressive controller does the trick. My real goal is 9.XX on motor.
  4. Wow, 600 rwhp and 11's, I put down 530 rwhp and ran 9.70's with my old set up. I would be slightly depressed after all that work!
  5. Stock outter stub axles are worthless. I used to snap them left and right when only making 550rwhp running high 9's. I am using the Modern Motorsport ones, sucks that Ross is gone!
  6. I am using the JCI mounts, long tube headers from the group buy, made my own 4L80E trans mounts, not rocket science. The long tubes needed some minor modifications but worked even with an auto when they were designed for a T56. That is my experience anyway. Heck, I am running 3" dual exhaust without problems, it's all doable if you try!
  7. Very nice, I really like it a lot. What mirrors are those?
  8. North of 500rwhp and tq thru the 4L80E. 25 percent driveline loss.
  9. Purxhased a custom grind cam from Geoff Skinner at EPS 240/254 644/620 at 113 plus 4. Also dropping my heads off at Chris Frank of Frankenstein Cylinder heads for a Stage One port/cnc job, heads will flow 388 intake and 244 exhaust at 600 lift. This should fix the drop off at 5400 rpm's.
  10. They are gapped for a 200 shot, good cam spec's, what heads are you using?
  11. Motor was played out by 5600 rpm's, the cam is way too small 230/242 .605/.607 at 113, I need to get a cam that is the range of 250/260 and .610/.630 lift on a 113 or 114 ls. That said even thru a 4L80E it made 461rwhp and 490ftlb's of torque. I will swap the LS3 heads and intake for a LS7 head and intake. Should bring it in around 520 to 530 rwhp then. We calculated a 25 percent driveline loss....ouch!
  12. On the dyno tuning todayIMG_1508.MOVIMG_1509.MOV
  13. I just put an LSX 436 in my turd and plan on a 200 wet shot, hopefully a little faster than the old cam only 6 liter.
  14. 9.7X's at 134, cam only 6 liter on a 150 shot. 10.60 at 125 on motor. My new motor should be a tad faster.
  15. 300 miles with Joe Gibbs break in oil then 10-30 with additives, going to the dyno this Saturday afternoon to get it dialed in. It's got a EPS baby cam in it 230/242 with .600/.605 lift on a 113 LS. I am running out of box 5364 LS3 heads and intake, nothing fancy. Next year I'll put LS7 heads and intake on her and maybe more cam.
  16. I sold my LS2 and went all in on a LSX 436, Billet main caps studded , Callies Magnum XL crank, Callies Magnum rods and diamond pistons. Compression is 11.4 to 1 and is safe with 93 octane. Just breaking it in and working on the tune. Should be a beast on motor or bottle. I have a wet plate system on it with just a 150 shot to begin with. It was originally supposed to be for a turbo set up. IMG_1473.MOVIMG_1474.MOV
  17. I am running 3" dual exhaust thru a Dynoflow single muffler with dual 3 " chambers in and out.
  18. Mine is on top of the trans tunnel behind the dash.
  19. I was thinking about taking my Z out to the TX2K15 myself. Got a little something new in the Z that I'd like to try out. I pulled the L76 6 liter out the other day.
  20. I am running the LS2 Corvette oil pan on my 1971 240Z, the windage tray was the same as the one on 2009 Pontiac G8, not sure about the older models.
  21. We had to delete/disable VATS on my swap as well otherwise it wouldn't crank.
  22. They are getting tough to find. Used to be you could find an S30 dirt cheap, dime a dozen, not anymore!
