  1. Mine is programmed to shift at 6400, rev limiter is 6700. I am going to lower my shift points to 6200 and rev limiter at 6500. There is no need to spin mine that high, it makes no more power and just wears stuff out prematurely.
  2. I thought about the 6L80E for a bit but then just went with the 4L80E, love the overdrive. Just put it in drive and hammer it.
  3. I'll have to check around for dyno graph. I purchased the cam swap package from Geoff Skinner at EPS, he used to own Thunder Racing. Package (comp cams)came with .650 lift double roller springs, hardened pushrods, valve seals, and the cam is his custom grind numbers that he has Comp cams grind for him. I am using the stock roller rockers, the after market ones are noisy as hell from what I have heard. You can do the trunion upgrade on your roller rockers if you are the least bit concerned about failure.
  4. 231/242 duration, .605/.607 113 ls. L76, 6 liter with stock LS3 heads and intake, put down 418 rwhp and 386 rwtq all thru a 4L80E pig. Best pass to date with a lousy tight torque converter in need of a re flash. 6.91 at 101.97 with a 1.64 60 ft. 1/8th mile, 10.91 at 127 with a lousy 1.68 60 ft. 1/4 mile.
  5. I used the Johns Cars mounts, he is located by Fair Park in Dallas.
  6. Long tubes move the power (peak) range up, if you want a torquer set up stay with the shorties. 20-25 rwhp is not bad for 950 bucks, I dropped that for my headers. I have not run shorties in years and will never go back, they sucked on my 240Z. They (Sandersons) burned up collector gaskets monthly, the nuts and bolts warped and froze/locked up. That alone is reason to throw the shorties away regardless of the horsepower numbers.
  7. Not that I am aware of, trans should be easy enough. The L76 uses the new DOD, technology, dropping cylinders, up to 4 when cruising for fuel economy. I deleted this feature, was no problem as I was taking the heads off anyway, like to see what's inside before hammering on it. I added a custom grind nitrous cam, new LS7 lifters/trays, springs and hardened pushrods. The car runs good, I am in Allen just up the road from you if you ever want to check it out. I am running a 4L80E instaed of a manual transmission.
  8. Rainex is you friend, my wipers took a dump yrs ago...LOL
  9. It's all good, got mine in. Used a Lokar firewall mount just like you did. The only thing I do not like about the 4L80E is the long first gear, was used to the 700R4's first gear. My converter is way too tight, 3100 stall, the builder is going to restall it to 3800. This should really wake it up out of the hole.
  10. I tried the high mount and it did not work for me, gave up on the LS3 accessories and went with LS1 accessories and it worked.
  11. I can pull my header without touching the starter, LS2 starter for what it's worth.
  12. I louvered my stock 240Z hood, loved the look.
  13. Good quality mounts, yes but a bit bulky. I used them in my recent conversion but probably would go another route in a future build. Not dogging the kit but just to see what else can be done to make more room for headers, etc. We fabbed our own trans mount as we went with a 4L80E in my 240 and nobody offered a kit for that.
  14. PSI Wiring harness, not cheap but you get what you pay for.
  15. You can get them coated for the price of a couple sets of plug wires, probably the way too go.
  16. I installed a LS2 Corvette oil pan and have no problems with clearance, it sits dead even with crossmember.
  17. Made this pass the other day IMG_0367.MOV
  18. Yep, I did the same thing with a 4L80E, adaptor/spacer, flexplate and converter, you will be good to go!
  19. That is what I am running, very nice double spring, good to .675 lift. great bang for your buck investment. Good luck with your new set up! Mike
  20. 11's on a naturally asperated 5.3 is great, congrats on your build, enjoy the ride!
  21. The dash with those gauges looks bad ass, very nice work by the way!
