  1. Yeah Rob! Hehe, I just now saw this post, so I hope I am not too late! I have to say the look on your face is quite possibly the best of anyone that has ridden in my car! Completely blank! And a little wide eyed. You certainly are trying to do something unique and that I think is cool. On the other hand you could build a REALLY wicked L28et for that kinda money! If I were you I would go pickup a zxt and swap motors right away and get yourself into the 12's for about $1000-1500 and then be building the REAL L28et in the meantime. The way I see it, you were planning on going in stages with the V-8 anyways . . . I am making a little less than 300hp now and I truly believe that I could run some LOW 12's if I put some real meats on the back of my car. I am pulling 12.7's with 1.9 60's Now! on 215 DR's!! Imagine if I put some 245 or 265 DR's back there! And if my clutch didnt slip . . . hehe Anyways, I extend to you an invitation for next Sunday. Ivo and I will be running both our cars next Sun at Import Wars at Great Lakes Dragaway. I have a new tranny and clutch going in so I should see some lower time slips! Come witness the power of the L motor!! haha
  2. Well before this trip i was getting 13.5 on interstate, mid 14's in traffic and when i would get on it it would go from about 12.2 at low rpm then as rpm's start going up a/f starts falling down nice and steady by the time i hit 6k its usually about 11-0. When i get home tonight i will see what kind of a/f i was getting on those passes but i do have feeling that something is slightlly off . Ivan
  3. Well, Well, Well . . . All that hooplah for nothing I guess?! Guess who still rules the streets of Chicago in their 12.7 sec beast of a Z car?!!!!!! Thats right! I DO! haha. Just kidding Ivo! Sorry I couldn't be there, Maybe if you had let me drive it you woulda had more luck. Anyways with the air/fuel your car is at we should be able to up the boost a little and still be safe, as long as your clutch hangs in there. We'll get some 12's outta that car before winter hits!! In other news . . . my car is on jackstands awaiting a new T-5, clutchmasters stage 4 and Flywheel for my trip down south at the end of the month. Yep, you heard right Aabamans(?) and Floridians! Me and my Drag Radials are comin your way!
  4. Hey that thing looks wicked! I got a chance to drive a s13 with RB25 in it last week. John . . . I am coming down there in about a month now. Hopefully that thing will be up and running so you can school me! Keep us updated!
  5. What up boys?! I don't think I have beat on my car that much in one day EVER! I was givin out joy rides left and right . . .and it was great! My apologies guys, I am still having some serious fuel issues, It'll be much faster next time! The best was when John was in the car . . . we were getting ready to pull into Mat's driveway when a GSX rolls by with a big frontmount on it . . . So of course I pull a nice smokey u-turn in front of Mat's house and chase him down . . . we pull over he tells me he has a P-something turbo(can't remember) but it was bigger than a 16g at 17 psi with FMIC and some type of tuning computer, and bigger injectors. So he takes us over to some street and we hit it from a dead stop. I had the drag radials on and John in the car and still I WALKED him . . . BAD! By Fourth he was about 10-15 cars back! Not even close. On another note Ivan beat me for the first time tonight! We finally got some of his fuel issues sorted out with the wideband and his car moves out! I gave him the hit from a stop and he got one car on me and held that one car through most of third! In fourth gear on the interstate I still pull away from him pretty good, but he is certainly making some more power now! Ok, so . . . Mat, I gotta say thanks so much. You are a very generous host. We got food and used nearly every tool you own including a brake line bender! Anyways, we are for sure doing it again . . . and next time you can give me a ride in your car! Garrett
  6. Well then, now that I've been non-verbally assaulted over the internet . . . Yes bring that G-tech! I may be putting down 300 to the wheels by Sun. as long as tuning goes well.

  8. I would post a pic here of what the car looks like with rims and all but I'd rather leave you in suspense! haha. Sounds like a good time will be had!
  9. Well I know I can come, hopefully Ivo can switch days to work and we'll drive up together. Sam, hows about a little caravan action? Mat, any way we could make it a Sunday instead of a Sat? Ya'll can see my freshly painted ride!
  10. The color is "Spectra Blue Mica" Toyota color more pics soon!
  11. Ok so first off, big thanks to my pal Evan who did almost all the spraying! This a pictoral progression of my car over the past few days! Here the car is getting body work done. All fresh metal where there was rust! Almost ready for Primer Spraying primer! Flat black and real mean lookin! This is what she looks like! So I will post more pics when she's put back together and she is wet sanded and in the sun of course!! Hope you like! Garrett
  12. Bast, Yes even with raised Fuel pressure and 370's it runs a little lean on top. Really its because I can't do anything but richen or lean out the entire map. At any rate you have to remember that at 15 psi thats more than double the original amount of boost this setup was inteded to see from the factory. I think 370's are plenty as long as you can dial them in. you have that abilitity with the FMU. This is the cheap way to make more power, but it sounds like you aren't even sure if thats what you want. So I don't know what to tell you.
  13. Hey Bast, First off 226 hp is not near the limit of the stock turbo. I would say 275-300 would be. At any rate I would say that if you arent going to raise boost then dont bother with 370's if you are then do it. Furthermore if you do get the 370's don't get rid of your FMU you will only need to play with the fuel curve more. I run 370's at 15psi on stock ecu and a regular FPR. With this setup I can only move the stock map richer or leaner. That means the whole map moves up or down (on a A/F chart) I have to run 45 psi base pressure to make it somewhat safe on the topend, actually still on the lean side. So you will need to run stock fuel pressure and adjust the rate of rise so that it stays safe on the top. That way you should still be able to get some good gas mileage. But the power level was dramatically different when I did 370's. The topend was way stronger. and my 1/4 mile times dropped by nearly a full second. 13.4 down to a 12.7 only other change was little more fuel pressure and about 2psi boost.
  14. So out of morbid curiousity . . . what is the latest on the green one? Does it have a motor in it yet? Driveable?
  15. I agree they are not especially fast . . . .and besides it looks like a JELLY BEAN!!
  16. This is my Favorite S14! 8.77 1/4 mile!
  17. whats up guys, hey This is my S14. I managed to get this car for $975! (without rims) and I love it. I use this as my daily while I work on the Z. Its pretty slammed. I bought it and it had KYB's all around and a cat-back on it. Anyways the thing handles like nobodys buisness! Ivan tries to steal it every time I am out of town!
  18. Cronic - I was pretty impressed too It made 274 Hp and 326 torque at 15 psi and stock electronics on 370cc. From the sheet it looks like its running extremely rich below 3500 and very lean above 4000 so in other words its putting that kind of power out and its still hitting 13.0 A/F. I don't suppose thats anything to be proud of but thats about as good as I can manage on stock electronics considering my base Fuel Pressure is about 43-45 lbs Anyways the car ran 12.70's all day with a slipping clutching and no 3rd 4th synchro. numbers say it should do 12.3-4 Who knows Garrett
  19. Good God Jersey! Those 60's suck! get some 1.8's or 1.9's and you'll have me beat easily! I think you are still running stock efi also correct? Anyways that's cool that you have another fast turbo z to cruise around with. I've got a guy like that but his car NEVER runs! (caugh) IVAN (caugh)! nice runs anyways Garrett
  20. Hey man, awesome to hear that your Z is turbo'd and running well. Sorry we couldn't hook up on the last trip to reynolds. You wanna take a little road trip up here sometime in the next month? I'm thinking of getting a bunch of turbo z's together in the area. 7-10 cars
  21. Sounds like a traumatic experience for you and the racoon I can attest to the size of some of those things. There is one porker nearby where i work that is at least 30 lbs! Sounds like you need some night vision goggles and a BB gun hehe
  22. well . . . I have the stock open r200 from my 76, T-5 tranny, but my clutch is slipping when I shift to 3rd and 4th, and I have no synchro's for 3rd or 4th. So my MPH is all over the place. I know I said this in another post but I made 4 12.7 passes with 60's from 1.84-1.99 and mph from 108 to 111.3. So I'm fairly certain that once I clear up these issues it should run 12.4 or so. Anyways I think once I really get good at consistent launches 1.7's are attainable. I have to launch it at about 3100 rpms and it slips alittle through the 60. G
  23. you don't need no stinkin bigger turbo to run 12's hehe As soon as James gets some serious track time we'll have a 10 sec representative.
  24. Hey Jersey, I'm not sure what kind of 60's you were getting before but . . . I've been using the BFG DR's. The first set I had I drove around on the street a bunch and they lasted a few months with 3 trips to the track, then again I make like 12-15 passes when I go I just got a fresh set and pulled a 1.84 60' right away and I'm still not very good a launching the car so I know it could be better. Anyways its a very sticky tire, maybe doesn't last as long as nittos but if you're only using them at the track . . . mine are 215/60 14's G
