  2. Well I seriously considered picking it up and getting it running, just dont have the space, or time. But I have talked with the owner a good bit and the car can be had for $550. So somebody get it . . . Im near Tampa so if someone needs me to pick it up for them i could prolly arrange it.   3. SR tranny is identical to the KA tranny . . . just different bellhousing. I am currently running one on my turbo setup... this tranny will not hold the power I plan to make. Keep in mind that an SR with 350hp has alot less torque than 350hp on the L. I just did it cause they are easy/cheap to find. Thanks for the update MIKE!!

  7. Ok so we bought a 1990 240sx single cam for my sister . . . of course that makes me the in house mechanic. . . So there is this really odd clacking noise at about 2000 rpm. Time for a timing chain replacement! These are the parts I pulled off . . . . Ouch the guide broke in half! And that bolt tensioner is almost worn through! Wait isnt there supposed to be two guides for the timing chain!? Where is the other one . . . . HERE IT IS!!! NOT KIDDING! That is a billion plastic pieces of chain guide! Pulled em all out of the oil pan.

  17. personally, I would hold out till you find a turbo block. That is definitely the idea, low compression/high boost. They really arent that hard to come by, i'm sure you can find somethin.
  18. What I'm wondering about is the clutch activated button. What if you still want to slip the clutch out? Thats why I was thinking of a button on the steering wheel, That way I can start slipping it out and then release it when i get to the edge. In my experience, any pre-load on a manual setup is good.

    so its actually for real? There was alot of talk by the guys from Chicago that were on the show last season. They said it was pretty much fake, guys were able to get their cars back for $50. So its legit, yall took a car home?
  20. Man! . . . i was just reading a LONG thread over at NICO with pictures of a VQ30 swap into a s14. looked like a cool swap. Im unable to find the thread at the moment. I do know that the VQ30det came in the Gloria Y33 i think. You can try doin a search for the thread, i can tell you it was multiple pages.
  21. Two Step . . . its the only way to go with a stick car. Im looking into the MSD DIS-4. Ignition box that works with coilpacks. You can run it to a botton on the steering wheel or whatever. As long as you're holding it down you're building boost and popping off a set rev limit. the second you release, you Launch. Still a bit harder on the drivetrain that an automatic with linelock but . . .
  22. I know its a truck motor and all but the 4.0 liter HO motor out of a Jeep could be a cool swap. Also they have stroker kits to go up to 4.7 liters! Slap a turbo and woohoo. Maybe regrind the cam to get a little more topend power.
