  1. I honestly don't know where she got the stuff.. Ill have to get details. The books are the Japanese version w/o subtitles, so so far I've just been following the story by pictures . She said something about having to order them from Malaysia. The DVD is great quality and has English subtitles Its awesome. Chris - It was nice meeting you the other day.. hope everything works out well, lemme know how it goes.
  2. Having a variable speed (max setting) and then a trigger to control the speed on the fly is SUPER nice that way you can let off a bit as you come to edges etc. I have a Milwaukee unit and I love it as I love every tool I have from them, more money but worth the price. Here is my buffing thread, I think the pictuers speak for themselves as well. It may not hide my poor body work but my paint shines deep and I have ZERO orange peel http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=107455&highlight=wet
  3. My girlfriend got me the first two Wangan Midnight Books and the DVD with english subtitles of episodes 1-6 I got a bunch of tools from my parents. Big jackstands, some punches, drill bits set, and my favorite... 12" mitutoyo Dial Calipers so I cant finally measure exhaust flanges and other large things easier.
  4. I guess it depends on what audience you are going for. The older guys that are paying top dollar and are more of collectors instead of drivers are gonna remember the cars they wanted as kids. And in that case the vintage Datsun colors are where its at. Burnt Orange, Lime green etc.
  5. Do not pay anybody to rewire your car!!!! Unless you have seen work of theirs in person. They may say they know what they are doing and you will end up with a rats nest. For a lot of people out of sight is out of mind especially if it isn't their car. Ive seen more botched electrical jobs from shops then I can remember. Painless wiring is pretty simple I suggest that route.
  6. Right, thats why I was suggesting using two 90's. But now that i look at the 3" clr stuff its still pricey. Chop bends anyone
  7. Ive mentioned this before but if you want CHEAP good quality mandrel bends in Aluminum, SS, or ALuminized go here: http://www.globaltecheng.com/ProductCart/pc/viewcategories.asp?idCategory=65&pageStyle=H They only have 90's though in 6061 aluminum of that size but they are 7 bucks each. You can weld them and be good to go. I used their bends on my i/c kit and they were very nice.; easily weldable, good quality. PS. they have mandrel bend up to 8" in aluminum!!!!!!!!!
  8. Forrest are you into adventure riding? Ive been visiting that site more and more often. The bug has got me. Im planning on getting a HUSKY and running the trans america trail this summer with one of my friends. There are some awesome documentaries on it as well.
  9. Also there is no distributor (those were like uh SOOO two decades ago.... j/k) it is a coil on plug setup that you will need a computer to run.
  10. check out http://www.vqswap.com
  11. TO use the the stock system you'll need the entire dash harness and pedal to sort out the security and DBW setup... and ALOT of electronic knowhow. I have found only a few people that have got it to work and they advised heavily AGAINST it. Ive pretty much decided to bite the bullet and go stand alone which best suits me anyway since you can only go so far on the stock electronics. Many standalone computers are capable of running DBW but they will not say this due to liability. Most people just convert to a manual throttle body (this is what im doing). Its pretty cheap, not to hard.. and I don't know about you but I like having direct control over the throttle. Id hate to have some electronic glitch and go off the side of a mountain when my car decided to go WOT in a turn just my 2 cents
  12. Same here I sold a NON WORKING radio for about 100 bucks on ebay. I was shocked I just threw it on there for giggles when I was parting my car.
  13. I hope they start selling for that price! All the better for us.
  14. Evil PM me the guys info if you dont mind I would like to check the car out.
  15. Holy smokes, that doesnt seem right. 8 psi and damage like that? it seems like the detonation would have sounded so bad you would have immediatly pulled into the pits.
  16. Wow thats crazy to say the least glad you are okay... that could have been a horrible accident. Hope you get it figured out... id be ripping that rack out and checking it.
  17. sorry yes I meant parallel like Olie drew up, sorry for the late fix. My stock 350z dual rail setup ran a single supply with both rails arranged in a dead head setup, not the best design but they did have a pulsation damper on each rail like tonyd is talking about. I would think you would especially want this is you didn't run them parallel.
  18. Good to hear, I hope everythign works out well for you. Contact powertrain industries they should be able to hook you up with the yoke. Neat that my adapter will be used on your setup.. cant wait to see the power figure of your beast. Also if you havent thought of it aready you can use studs through the adapter (or flat heads from the engine side) and secure the tranny with nuts. This woudl aid in alignment as well. I would still be worried abit about the thickness though and would prolly make it full circumference to help with flexing.. just food for thought. Peace.
  19. I got my doglegs and fender bottoms super quick within the week if I remember correctly. perhaps i got lucky and slid in at the end of a run.
  20. I would think you would need to run them like any dual rail setup, a large supply line with a splitter to run the rails in series and then run the outlets to each side of the regulator which then dumps out the bottom. That is if you are running a after market regulator which I would recommend. If not you would just need to y them back before the regulator I wouldn't run it as a dead head setup like you have drawn there.
  21. Got some work done over thanksgiving. Check out the website. I added transmission mount info, crossmember info, and I will be adding my shifter relocation info tonight. www.vq240z.com
  22. http://www.injectedperformance.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ID=10373 Talk to Hal for more info
  23. Heh if I could just find somebody to donate one it would be there in a hurry! Im actually just gonna be able to squeak be getting this thing running N/A might have to wait a bit at that. Ive tossed around the idea of a single holset.. but ill prolly just wait and save up so I can do everything the way I want it when I go FI.
  24. Well good luck sounds like you've got it all figured out.
