  1. You may want to smooth out the bumps that are right at the runner inlet. i took a whole loota meat outta mine there. Seems like it would really help flow.
  2. usps priority takes 5-10 days. You prolly sent it on the slow boat, but i didnt think you could do that any more. I have had good luck and I have sent a good many things recently.
  3. I send everything international via USPS priority insured, works better especially due to customs, and its usually way cheaper....but still very expensive.
  4. I just wanted to add some of my thoughts on this since I live in an apartment for a while. First of all I cant believe you wouldn't get evicted.. most places around here wont even let you open your hood in the parking lot. literally no joke. I got away with working on my motorcycles a bit where I lived but it was nothing major. Second of all you need to be especially careful of other people's cars, MIG welding throws ALOT of slag out.. those little sparks can do a lot of damage... i would hate to be paying to have somebody car repainted and all the glass replaced!!! I know if somebody was welding anywhere near my car in the parking lot there would be a serious dispute. Just some things to think about. My 2 cents, I wouldn't do it. Look for a garage or find a buddy who can help you out one weekend... I would lean towards the buddy approach it will only cost you a case of beer more then likely.
  5. At my school they call it material science, which btw I think is a wicked degree. Really interesting and a ton of stuff you could do with it, especially now. As far as engineering school goes, at my school and most Ive looked at you have yer basic engineering degrees: Mechanical/Aerospace Civil Chemical Electrical Industrial (for girls ) Textile (also for girls ) Bio-Medical Engineering (one of the hardest programs at my school) Then anything else such as Automotive Engineering is usually a grad program. Im hoping to go on to get my Automotive Engineering Masters as Clemson, but I havent made up my mind yet.
  6. Nissan is making a limited number of the cars, and I doubt that any 70 thousand dollar nissan will be "littering" the streets. Definitely wont be the next 350/g35, we are talking about cars half the cost. Remember not everybody know about the hype behind the skyline, most of the people in the market for a car that expensive are older and not into the "JDM scene". I have a strange feeling these cars might be harder to sell then alot of people think. I would say the average guy looking to buy a 70K dollar car is in his 40-50's and would be looking at the vette instead.... This in know way shows my preference or opinion, its just the way I see it.
  7. I can wait to see one of these in person. One of the guys in our Z club has one reserved at MSRP, he has signed the contract and its a done deal. He should be receiving it soon. I've really been on the fence about the design, they are quite hideous in pictures, but every time I see a video of them they look surprising nice... and the performance numbers don't lie... these things are NASTY. Although I would still buy the porshe
  8. No turbo.... prolly not for a while. Im pretty much out of money for this project. Im actually thinking about keeping it NA for the track, I think it would be much more fun that way but we will see when everything is finished.
  9. To convert to an, you can retap the block to NPT and run a standard brass t.... many people will disagree with me here but I've done it several times and it works great. Just run a NPT into the BSP hole, the NPT will seal. Or you can weld a AN fitting on top of the factory steel t if you have a welder or you can run an adapter or you can..
  10. Use Braided -3 or -4 AN line for for feed. Its worth the effort and makes for a clean install, however dont forget to add an oil restrictor if you go this route. I prefer to use silicon hose for the dump tube, it seems to hold up very well and isnt a pain in the a55 like a huge an line would be in that cramped space. ATP sells 5/8" silicon for this purpose.
  11. You have been doing some absolutely stunning work. I cant imagine what your car will look like when you are finished! Keep it up, im looking forward to whatever your next project is! I need to get off my arse and start learning cosmos better, the flow analysis between the intake and intercooler have been Saweeet to look at.
  12. I ran a felpro gasket in my motor for a couple years with absolutely no issues. I ran 18psi on a daily basis with that gasket. And that was with old stock headbolts, but they were torqued correctly. People keep bashing them but this is completely opposite to my experience. I eventually went to ARP head studs and a metal gasket for higher boost, but I will be one to say there is nothing wrong with a felpro gasket... and I have NEVER blown a head gasket. I blew 3 pistons on my engine without touching the head gasket. But anyway sorry to hear about you trouble!! Time to get metal!
  13. I coated mine with eastwood high-temp cast iron paint and then heat wrapped everything from the head to the end of the down pipe. Never had a single issue with it, nor did I have any rust issues. The manifold was frequently cherry red after high boost runs and still no warpage or issue. I was even running my MIG welded external waste gate off the manifold.
  14. I would also pay well for a set of JDM front 240z turns signals and or tail lamps. Mainly the front ones though.
  15. I would LOVE to have two license tags. PM me if your interested in picking some up, and lemme know how much.
  16. I thought I recognized it, I was just there over winter break. Awesome place I really enjoyed snowboarding there and the scenery was just beautiful.
  17. Mozilla Firefox checks you spelling for you, it really is a great browser so if you guys haven't switched I recommend it. That last sentence I typed I miss spelled 4 words, so its a lifesaver for me. Not only am I not a good speller I type way to fast for my own good and do things like "hte" instead of "the"... but I'm working on it .
  18. That area looks absolutely beautiful... is that breck?
  19. That is a killer price. Most places are around 5 grand for the entire package. However if you get it you need to get EVERYTHING. You really really dont want to be pieces together wiring hanresses and computers. Speaking of which thats the main thing I would be worried about is the electronics on the car. Regaurdless you need: Engine Tranny Driveshaft (gotta have it! they dont make z33 tranny yokes yet aftermarket) Engine harness, dash harness, body harness ECU, BCM Ignition Switch w/ key (including NATS antennea)
  20. are you guys serious! I would never use JB weld on a BOV flange. Depending on how much boost you are running and the size of the bov there can be tremendous pressure at that flange. Add to this the heat and vibration I dont think its gonna last to long. I can see your bov popping off and rolling down the interstate. Get it welded or buy a section of pipe with it already welded on from ebay or atp turbo or something.
  21. Naw, definitely wont be ready for DNI. Im planning on being there though, not quite sure.
  22. Just a teaser: Ive updated my website a little. Everything is starting to come together. Startup should be relatively soon . http://www.vq240z.com
