  1. Frankly you are close to Japan, might be that parts are more easely to source, in europe ronning an RB would be WAY cheaper .. in the states you cant beat a SBC in power to $ ratio, given support on teh l-series is way better than in europe
  2. Damn that set looks just sexy ... !!! an olds IRL engine look sexy too Barrel ITB's !!!!
  3. i run 17x10's in the rear ET13 they do not Rub (the tires are 275 x 40 )
  4. I think i just won the last cm's !!! so im happy with the way it sits! I slotted the ground plates, now the distributor sits FLUSH with the fire wall! ( about 5mm clearance) it should make for the stock shifter location with the T5 !! Thanks for the help
  5. You mean the 'plate mounts' Or the mounts that bolt up to the block itself ? can you post some pictures of the engine in the bay for reference ? The t5 has no issues whatsoever fitmentwhise Thanks
  6. I use em... but hounestly i havent swapped them in after my sectioned konis and coilovers.. so i have no clue if they work.. and frankly they are cheap and tend to 'bind' in my book due to sitting at angle with the car low.. If you want ajustabillity, you will have to fab something. Hence they are not used in my track car
  7. yes i have the full JTR kit. and in not running into anything.. its just that im slid completly rearward and in my opinion cpil slide another inch orso if the mounts would allow it. can anyone put up pictures of: A: engine mounts B:distributor to firewall clearance thanks in advance
  8. So im in process of swapping a SBC with a camaro T5 into my ZX using the JTR KIT There is no problem apart fom the fact that i have my engine in the most rearward postition doesnt line up the way the JTR manual states: The following pictures shows the JTR 'rerward postion' im somewhere in between the 'forward position'and 'rearward position', jet i have run out of sliding space the engine mounts provide. The only thing i havent done sovar is slot the engine mount 'subframe' plate shown in this picture; where the manual states; Drill a 7/16" hole 13/16" (.81") below the lower hole, and about 1/8" forward. If you want to increase the range of adjustment for moving the engine forward or rearward, the lower hole can be slotted as shown by the oval. Here is my 'problem' the T5 gearbox doesnt seem to line out in the way the manual claims, in fact it feels more foreward ( i have no issues with the stock mounting ear being in the way, plus my shifter comes up in front of the stock location. plus i feel the entire engine can move back about 1,5 inches. So some slotting doesnt cut it Does anyone else have this problem ? I guess ill take my engien out and slot the mountplates aswel .. but this only saves me so much .. and i feel i have room to get much more ( i dont need the hood latch as i run pins ) so further back means easer gearbox fitment Hope the hear options of what i could be doing wrong.. or does the JTR manual have an error here ? so you SBC v8 s130 brothers ... shed some light how are you running ? The only solution i can think of is redrilling the ground engine mount completly so i win an inch orso.
  9. sorry mods can someone move this ... wrong topic ...
  10. why audi did wel on a 5 cylinder I have to vouch for the landspeed car that two liter started up and we reved it and teh Tach was STUCK!!! at 11K RPM.. there is a picture of it somewhere .. anyhow it is petty insane!

  13. a r33 caliper is teh exact same as a later z32 tt caliper ... so not that rare
  14. That is absolutly not the only cost.. sure you need the asphalt to race... but that is wehere it starts .. Fuel, brakes, tires, apart from gear are the biggest cost for sure ! Calculated id say about €700 a trackday minus entrance for racing
  15. COOL!! i have thought about a BMW diesel conversion, mainly due to the imense flat powerband BMW manages to make.... but hey two cars and 0 time ...
  16. Suede wheels should be driven with Suede gloves otherwhise they do go bad even sooner, next to that they shouldbe covered when not driving. In my track cars .... seude only!
  17. Audi ? isnt that a rebadged volkswagen ? Like said i believe it is pure styling build qaulity of the cars are on the same level. As i always see on my dads (taxi )
  18. Haha great mercs normally drive with sheepskin covers and elderly's on the right lane where they belong ';) Without bullshit the e190 evolution as posted in this thread is really cool! And like said Mercedes i great build car like a BMW
  19. Some updates!! Yesterday i figured lets make some pictures! The complete wiring harnes (as seen on this picture) is now completly removed, as this particular picture has been made a week ago. Anyway still along way to go.. but it is a really fun project sofar ! Let me take this oppertunity to revise my to do list set in the first post: The Specs sofar: * Full Fia Cage * Porterfield R4 pads and Motul oil these wil be swapped out for Wilwood GT 6000's with a 1.25" disk upfront and superlights in the rear * Steel brake lines * MSA 'big'swaybars * Beta motor sport GF zx Hood * gutted doors * whale tail to do: * prep chassis for flares and to save weight. * Dual brake masters with Biasbar * Painless wiring (or something among that line) * paint * install 35 gallon Fuel cell * install s13coil overs. * Install Wilwood GT6000's and Superlights * Build l28 * install lexan windows * Poly bushes * install a zillion ods and ends (seats etc etc ) The big plan is a ~300 rwhp durable power output from this l28 It should be a engine build with track use in mind, but i dont need to max out power outputs to a point the engine wear will increase to a point its lifespan is measured in hours simply due to the cost it would bring to run my car. Next to that im in a learning curve so this would be a handfull on track as is! Keep in mind i have to run against e36 m3's and various newer porsches in the DNRT cup. so the competition is strong and some are experianced!
