  1. Brett, I am using the same radiator that you are using. On my old car I used the stock RX7 fans and they would keep the car cool without any problems. On my new Car I am using the volvo 850-s80 fans and I like them better but hte rx7 fans will cool. Make sure that your fans are turning on right and that you are getting hi when it gets hot. The 421 rwhp was using the dyno jet, what did you make on Ricks dyno before he did a tune? So when will we see you at the track? Mike
  2. Dale when are you going to put the 402 in? After running the 402 in my car I would never use the ls1 again. You will love the power and TQ. SD tune makes the car alot more fun to drive, the drivability is so much better. Good luck on the swap. Mike
  3. Dale sale the fast TB they suck. I had alot of problems with mine sticking and fast idle. I put on a NW 90mm TB and now the problem is fixed. Also use the 4" ducting, I pick up over 30rwhp using the 4" vs 3.5". You will need to get rid of the MAF with the 4".. Goodluck Mike
  4. Joey your 280z weighs more than my ls2 rx7. And I have PS,ac,pw,Pl,ABS. Take the heavy bumpers off.. Just giving you a hard time. Mike
  5. I will be using the ETP 225 heads on my 402 in a few weeks. I have been very happy with the Speed Density tune also. The drivability is much better than a MAF car. I love the throttle responce from a SD tune. So Joey when are you going to step up to a 402??????? The ls1 motor fells Like it has no tq now.
  6. Joey how much does your car weigh? 3,000lbs?
  7. The alternator mount is the same on the ls1 and the ls2. The ls2 alternator is different from the ls1, the power lug come out where the Datsun motor mount tower is. Looks like I will be able to re clock the alternator to make it fit. Originally Posted by LS1240Z We just put the ls1 mounts on the the LS2. John I must have been sleeping when I did this because I never did try my ls1 alternator mount on his motor.
  8. Here are some pics of Sergio's ls2 280z. I will let Sergio give out the detail of the car.
  9. Mikelly, HPtuner was used for tuning. I also went with a SD tune and I love it. My old ls1/rx7 was 2846lbs and my new one should be about 50lbs lighter. The LS based motors are great motors to build, this car is a very streetable car. I drove it to the track 95miles each way and I still get about 25MPG. JTR has been involved with the RX7 market in the last year. Both my LT 17/8 headers and Radiator are from JTR. When I 1st build my ls1/rx7 there where not any LT headers available. I will be installing some ETP 225 heads in a few weeks, I am hoping for 530-540RWHP with this mild cam. A motor like this should trap 138mph in a 240z, and that is all motor.
  10. More video also the turbo festiva. http://videos.streetfire.net/player.aspx?fileid=35C778C6-110F-419C-8372-576E04C5E2C4 http://videos.streetfire.net/player.aspx?fileid=A1BD2A24-BA26-4DAE-91CB-689BEF2B7656 http://videos.streetfire.net/player.aspx?fileid=A1BD2A24-BA26-4DAE-91CB-689BEF2B7656
  11. Here is a simple build up that I would love to put into my 240z sometime. I have the motor in my 1993 RX7 with a t56 trans. Ls2 402 eagle kit ported 5.3 heads 236/236 601/601 115 cam fast 90mm intake 42lb injectors 506RWHP Dyno sheet http://home.comcast.net/~nickn20/MikeRX7/MikeRX7baUC.jpg On Saturday I took my RX7 to the track. My best run was a 1.8 60" 7.1@104mph 1/8 10.9@133.6mph 1/4 Traction was a big problem I need to put some slicks on this car. I would like to see how a 402 ls2 would do in a lighter 240z. video of a 11.1@131mph I was spinning all of the way down the track. http://videos.streetfire.net/player.aspx?fileid=093C2014-831D-4980-AB49-4C5C0B7EC8C7
  12. I had almost the same build up that you now have. I use to run my old RX7 at Sac all the time. I will start to go out there again after I dyno my ls2/rx7. Mike
  13. I know that they will fit the q45 diff swap. I have a pair of adapters if you want to bring over a r230 axle to try.
  14. Heavy Z, I didnt know that you where going to buy it. I hope I see you out at the track in Sac. Mike
  15. Don I would take my ls2 402/rx7 but I have some friends in for the weekend.
  16. silicone boy, You will love the ls1 if you put it into your RX7. I went down to the SCC event with Mark(the owner of the ls1/fd). They even took a pic of me welding a broken part on page 62. Cost for the swap. About $8000 if you do the swap. Mike
  17. I went to OSW on Wednesday but no Z-cars showed up. There where alot of fast cars at OSW. Z-Gad, glad that you got your car running. Mike
  18. Tim I just got back Orlando and saw this post. You should have called... Have fun with your new car. Mike
  19. When I was making 400rwhp my car would run 7.1@99mph. 1/8
  20. ULISES, I wish I did the swap for you, but I would of gone with the SHO engine.
  21. Z-fan I am using a stiffer front sway bar with coil overs on my 240z. That is what the car looks like with a 1.50 60'.
  22. My 240z use to have a 4l60e in it and I use to like it. The 6-speed grew on me after driving my ls1/fd around. Last week Joey(LS1Z) let me make a pass in his car(thanks Joey) at the track 11.5@119mph and I like the T56 just as much in the Z-car. I have run 10's in the 1/4 in my ls1/fd on just the motor with the t56, so you can still go fast with the t56. Just my thoughts..
  23. Try and stay away from Patriot Heads, Look into some TEA heads if you want some better quality.
  24. Mikelly, When I used the z06 maf the Air tables where off alot. On my 402 ls2 I am running it mafless. Phantom, The main advantage to the 5.3 is the smaller chambers, you want to raise your CR up to 11:1 and you will pick up some TQ. I am running over 11:1 CR and 28 deg of timming on 91 oct gas without any problems. Good Exhaust is a key to being able to run hight CR, You will need the 13/4 Sanderson headers to be able to run 28 deg timming on your car. Mikelly let us know how it goes..
  25. Mikelly, is using LGM long tube headers, they will make alot more HP than the 1.5" headers that you are using. So it might be hard to compare his ## to yours. Mikelly, I think that you will make 430-442RWHP 385-410RWTQ If you are using a 346 ls1 (let us all know). I have used both the 112&114 LSA The 112 has more mid range power but the idle will not be as nice as the 114. The 114 will have a broader power range with a better idle. I am using 228/228 589/589 112 in my 240z and a 236/236 605/605 115 in my 402 ls2 RX7. you might want to look into some better headers for your car, ls1's like big headers. Joey(LS1z) is using the 228/228 589/589 112 cam in his ls1/280z, you might want to get some feedback from him. Mike
